23 | Who The Fuck Did I Marry?!
ARIELLA'S POV
SYLAQ opened the door to a huge room painted in blackish peach and light gold. It was really big, beautiful and well-detailed. There was a large king-sized bed in the middle of the room. I just sat on the bed feeling so exhausted. My brain would explode if I didn't get the answers to my questions so without wasting any more time, I dropped all my questions at once.
"What was that about? Why were they emphasizing the fact that I'm human? Why did Bella call you a hypocrite? And who's Lexie? Sylaq, what the hell are you hiding from me?"
I crossed my arms over my lap and continued, "Why were they even mysterious and silent? I understand that they don't know me but what was with the foreign and awkward vibes that they were expressing toward me? Sylaq Steel, don't just leave my questions hanging in the air. "
"I will answer them and explain everything tomorrow but for now, I want to rest and make love to MRS. Steel," he told me, his casting me a sexy glance.
"Why wait till tomorrow? Yes, I'm tired but I need those answers now or else I won't be able to sleep knowing that something's wrong," I poured out my mind to him.
"I promise to tell you everything in the morning," he reassured me.
"Okay," I gave up, removing my hands from my lap.
I got up and removed my wedding gown. I folded it and gently dropped it on the king-sized black velvet sofa before returning to the bed in my lingerie. Sylaq tried to kiss me but I didn't return it. It's not safe to be intimate with someone as mysterious as Sylaq Steel.
Wow, Ariella, you're just realizing this now. It's too bad that my brain was just processing this when I was already married to him.
"Trust me when I say that I'll tell you in the morning," he muttered, flashing me an apologetic smile. I rested my head on one of the many soft pillows and my mind still lingered on the strange ways Sylaq and his family behaved. I tried to divert my attention to something else but I failed. I wondered who Lexie was and how was she killed in Dobana. My thoughts were halted when I noticed that Sylaq's face changed to a demonic face for a split second.
"What..happened to your face?" I frantically asked, almost gasping.
"It's nothing," he denied while sprinting out of the room and the speed at which he moved was questioning.
Holy fuck! I was seriously screwed.
Who the fuck did I marry?
I didn't bother going after my mysterious husband, I just tried sleeping but failed after a million attempts. How could I even fall asleep with so many questions on my mind and not to mention the past I left behind at home? It seemed unbelievable to me that I was now referring to Dobana as my past. Yes, I wanted to explore the world but I never thought my reason for living would be because I killed Steve. We were supposed to begin a new life together but I ended this in the name of betrayal and anger. I know my actions couldn't be justified but if only he hadn't cheated on me and that too with my best or ex-best friend. Steve loved me even more than I him or was it just my misconception? I worsened the situation by smashing that bottle on his head. Oh God, please let him survive.
I was being tortured with guilt and my mind, heart, body, and soul were screaming for freedom from this endless guilt. I doubted if that would ever happen.
Right now, I needed to know how well is my husband and how big of a mess had I gotten myself into. Sylaq Steel, I'll find out who you are and what the fuck you're hiding from me.
Without delay, I got up from the soft bed and opened a wardrobe. Sylaq's clothes were mostly hoodies so I wore one of his wine hoodies. The hoodie was oversized so it was covering my upper thighs.
Like a detective who wanted to catch a criminal, I opened the door of my room ready to dive into my mission. Except in this case, I was a desperate wife who wanted to know the type of husband that I got married to.
The castle was huge making it harder to find Sylaq. In situations like this, I just followed my instincts because they had never failed me. My instincts led me to the other corner of the castle where my mouth was salivating just by smelling the aromatic flavors of meals.
Perhaps, my hungry stomach and nose brought me here not my instincts.
This must be the kitchen, I went in there so that I could drink water but I scream out of fear when I saw Sylaq hugging a black wolf.
"Haa!!" Even the universe must have heard me shouting. The black wolf instantly turned into a black-haired guy causing me to almost faint. Sylaq's face looked like a disobedient child who had been caught breaking the rules. No, his look was way more shocking than that but I couldn't look at his face.
"Wha.t The. Hell? Who the hell are you? Who the fuck did I marry?" I yelled, gasping with every word and my whole body frightened with immense fear.
Sylaq walked up to me, still looking stunned.
In the blink of an eye, Bella appeared from nowhere and scuffed, "A vampire."
NO! NO! And fucking NO!
"Bella!!!" Sylaq groaned.
"A vam.....pire?" I couldn't even say the word properly. My shaky legs almost stumbled.
"Everyone in this kingdom is either a vampire, werewolf, witch, or fairy," Bella stated sharply.
"Shut the fuck up!" Sylaq snarled, revealing long and pointed fangs that I'd never seen before.
Hell no! Hell fucking no!
I felt the world closing in on me as I let my body sink into an ocean of darkness and I doubted the possibility of me swimming out of it.
