ARIELLA'S POV

WE entered the royal parlor, it was really beautiful and painted in white and gold. Golden furniture was present In the parlor. We saw four people sitting on different chairs. They must be Sylaq's family, I presumed. There was a man who looked like Sylaq but a bit older, he was majestically seated on one of those huge and powerful-looking throne chairs

With surprised expressions on their faces, they raised to their feet when they saw us, they stared at me, studying me from up to down as if I was an alien or something.

"Father, Mother, brother, and Bella, meet Ariella, my wife," Sylaq introduced me to them. He didn't even greet his family, he just introduced me like that. I gracefully greeted them though.

"You got married?" The King who looked fearless in blue and gold royal attire asked with an intimidating voice. He had green eyes and he was brown-haired. The King's crown was made of gold, the crown showed extreme authority. It was clear that Sylaq physically looked like his dad.

"Yeah, I did," he answered, his voice just as intimidating as his dad's.

"Oh wow, Sylaq Steel! And when and where on earth did you meet this girl?" His dad questioned, clenching his jaws.

Sylaq answered with a confident voice, "father, it doesn't matter when or where I met her or how we fell in love, what matters, what really matters is that we are married and we love each other."

Love each other? That's strange cause we just met last night and I was sure that I was not in love with him. Yes, I was attracted to him but I was not in love with him. I mean, how could I be in love with a stranger? But you married this stranger, didn't you? My inner self attacked me.

"And what is she? Is she a.....," the Queen asked but Sylaq interrupted her by saying, "mother, she's a human"

Wait, am I not meant to be human? This is beyond weird but I will not say a thing unless I'm required to...His response left me confused, what else would I be if not a human? I took a lingering glance at the unique decor, each item here was sophisticated.

The Queen looked too young to be Sylaq's mom. Come to think of it, even the King looked very young too. Perhaps, they didn't age in this family.

"A human?" The four of them chorused as if humans didn't exist in their kingdom.

Sylaq nodded, "yes, Ariella'a my wife, and she is human."

"Dear, where are you from?" The Queen asked me with a bold but admirable voice. She looked more beautiful in an original gold gown. her long black ponytail matched with her ora, her blue-grey eyes enhanced the beauty of her round face and she was undeniably giving the vibe of a Queen.

"Your Highness, I'm from Dobana," I replied confidently. The King's face tightened the minute he hears Dobana, leaving me more dazed.

"Hmm, Dobana is a unique town," her majesty, muttered.

A minute of pure silence took over the place. It felt as though they remembered someone very dear to them. This whole situation made me feel more anxious but I maintained my composure. It would be unwise to lose my cool in front of all these people. Who knows what they may do to me?

"She is Bella, my sister and he is Nathan, my little brother," Sylaq introduced further, breaking the awkward silence.

"Nice to meet you, Ariella," the lovely boy grinned. At least one member of Sylaq's family was pleased to meet me. Nathan looked cute in black tiger skin pants paired with a Naruto T-shirt.

"Little one, the pleasure is all mine," I smiled while shaking his hand. His hand was really strong for his age. Even if I didn't know his actual age but he looked like he could be between ten to twelve years old.

"Bella!" Sylaq called out intimidatingly.

"Don't expect me to welcome this human into our family. How dare you even do this? You're such a hypocrite, I hate you even more than before," Bella huffed loudly, rage evident in her blue-grey eyes.
It pained me to see that Sylaq's sister was hostile because my siblings and I were very close. Ugh, my whole family must be aware of what happened yesterday and I could just imagine how angry my dad was.

I got the message though, she hated me or hated the fact that I was human. Bella shrugged and scowled at me.

Bela got her brown hair from the King but got her blue-grey eyes from her mom. She looked untouchable in her pure mini blackish-gold gown. Nathan on the other hand was black-haired and had green eyes.

"We need to talk privately," the King said to Sylaq but it seemed more like an order.

Sylaq who had this annoyed expression on his face refused, "the talk will be in the morning, Ariella and I are tired and we will be going to our room."

"Sylaq Steel, she's a human for crying out loud! Dammit! She's from the same city that killed Lexie!" The King groaned, stamping his feet on the ground causing the side vases to shatter to the ground. At that point, I was beyond scared for myself. What mess of a family had I gotten myself into?

Out of frustration and tiredness, I coughed twice and boldly asked them, "Isn't it normal to be human? And who is Lexie?" I didn't want to lose it but honestly, I just had to find out what in the world was going on. Who was Lexie to them? And how was she killed in Dobana?

They remained silent, and Sylaq took me to the room. I was unable to digest what just happened right now and I also didn't understand what was going on here but I was pretty tired from all this. The only thing my body needed now was rest but somehow I could feel that I would never find my peace again. Well, after killing my ex, maybe peace would be far-fetched for me.
