Your pov.
"You're such a good for nothing!" My mother shouted.
"You were told to do one thing, just one thing and you failed!" My father shouted as he began to hit me.
"I'm sorry!" I shouted, But I continued to get hit.
"Put her down in the basement." Father said. My eyes widened as I shook my head.
"No, please. Not the basement." I begged as my mother dragged me down to the basement by my hair.
She threw me down the stairs and locked the door. I stayed by the stairs as I stared at the darkness and silence. This is how I felt ever since I can remember, alone in the dark. It's fine though. I won't get hurt when I'm alone. Tears start to run down my cheeks, not a sound coming out. Bringing my legs closer to my chest, I wrap my arms around my legs, and lay my head on my knees.
My parents have been abusive towards me since as long as I can remember. Whenever I'm at school I like learning because when I learn I know I can get closer to getting out of my parents house. I usually hide myself in the library. However, the condition I live in is completely different. I can't afford anything, not a school uniform, school utensil, food, anything really. There have been a couple times I've switched to foster homes, but I dress up as a guy and end up acting up. I always end up back with my parents though. I know it's a surprise, but my parents have connections to people in there.
I've been dressing up as a guy since fifth grade. When I dress up as a guy and go out, I steal stuff. And so I won't get caught, I dress up differently the next time. That's the only thing my parents use money on. The guy clothes, masks, and wings so I can go out and steal stuff.
But today I was almost caught by a cop. Luckily, I was able to out run him. I was suppose to grab a certain old lady's designer bag. She must be rich, but why was she on this side of town?
I'm in summer break heading towards high school. Two more weeks till school starts. I haven't eaten in 3 days, but it's fine I can go a little longer. I've been in the basement multiple times in such a short amount of time. Every time I look in the mirror I can see how my skin gets more and more pale. I always used to wish about how things could stop, and how I can actually see the light one day. But I stopped believing in wishes.
Three days later...
How long have I been down in the basement again? I've been hit so much, I lost track. What time is it? I heard a ruckus upstairs. Hearing the door open my attention snaps to it. There I saw two guys I've never seen before. I didn't have any strength to move. They both came over to me and for some reason when they talked, all I heard was ringing. They helped me up and slowly walked me back upstairs. I closed my eyes when the bright light hit my eyes.
Once out of the basement, women walked over to me. These people are here to take me away aren't they? But something is different. My parents are yelling. Usually they don't care, I'm always brought back.
"Hi there, my name is Angelica. I'm from-" she talked about how she came to take me to a foster home. She was from a different one. "So we're taking you to Japan." She added. My eyes widened. Japan? I'm actually going to travel?
She walked me out and the two guys from earlier walked out with us. They grabbed some luggage's from their car and cops walked back inside with them. I'm in utter shock, I stayed quiet as Angelica put me in a car. My mother ran towards the car and banged on the window as she shouted at me, mostly threats.
"Ma'am you both have lost custody of this child." Angelica said.
The cops soon took my mother back inside. And the two guys that took me out of the basement brought over the luggage.
"She didn't have much clothes. If anything it was boy clothes with masks and wigs." One man said.
"We'll ask her about this later. For now let's get her out of here." She said. She walked to the driver seat and got in the car.
She looked at me through the rear-view mirror. I have to put the tough act on. If everyone gives up hope on me I won't be forced to get close with anyone. As Angelica started to drive I looked out the window.
"So I've looked back at your records. You've been taken in and out of foster homes for causing lots of trouble. Mind explaining that?" She said.
"What's it matter to you?" I asked.
"I already sense some sass from you." She said.
"Oh no I'm so sorry. Did that hurt your feelings?" I asked sarcastically.
"Thanks for trying to check up on my feelings, but we're here to help you." She said.
"Are you dumb? That was sarcasm." I said rolling my eyes.
"I didn't know that was sarcasm, I don't understand it." She says.
"Just shut up. Don't talk to me." I say shaking my head and I look out the window again.
Time skips...
She stopped the car and grabbed the luggage.
"Come on." She said.
"Where are we?" I asked as I got out of the car.
"The airport. I told you we we're going to Japan." She said grabbing my hand and began to walk.
I yanked my hand away from her. "Don't touch me again. And doesn't this require a passport? I don't have one." I say.
"Don't worry about that, come on, hurry." She explained and I followed her slowly.
She talked to security and they lead us to the plane. How the? This doesn't happen in books. We sat down and I started feeling uneasy. This is the first time I've been in a plane. I squeezed my hands so hard into fists that I didn't notice that I was slightly bleeding. I looked at the blood on my hand and I quickly got first aid. They're only doing this because it's their job. I usually tend to aid myself.
More time skips...
We got to Japan and I didn't sleep at all through the ride. We got off and the crowd in this airport made me panic. There were more people.
"Come on follow me. Don't get lost." She called as she walked.
I followed her. Half-way through the airport I stopped realizing something. She noticed me stopped and looked at me.
"What's wrong?" She asked.
"You brought me to Japan and I don't even know how to speak Japanese. I hope you thought about that." I said crossing my arms.
"Oh right. Well don't worry the people you are staying with know English." She said and started to speed walk.
Following her, she calls a cab over. She opens the door and I get in. The driver puts the luggage at the back and Angelica got in. I look over at the time and see it's 9 am here. Before I left I checked the clock on the wall of what use to be my house. It said it was 10 in the afternoon at least when we officially started driving to the airport. It was sunny when I was helped out of the basement guess they had a long conversation with both me and my parents. That was a long ride plane ride though. I stared down at my feet the entire ride.
Even more time skips...
"We're here." The can driver said.
I got off as Angelica went to the back and grabbed my luggage from the trunk. I grabbed the luggage from her, and looked at the apartment complex. She started walking and I sighed following her. Walking up to a building she knocked on one of the doors. The door opened and it showed a man who was a cross dresser I believe.
"Oh my! Thank goodness you both made it here alright." The man said. Does this person go by as a guy? I don't want to be rude. But I'm just going to say he's a guy.
"Hello sir. This is the girl you will be taking care of. She can be a handful if there are any problems just call me. Her name is-" I cut her off.
"Just hand him the damn paperwork already. That's if he thinks he can handle me like everyone else. I doubt he will." I said annoyed.
"Don't say that in front of him." Angelica said. "I'm sorry about her." She said and bowed. So she wasn't lying about these people knowing English.
"Tch... I'm just saying how it is. Just take me away now. He's going to call you in less than two days-" Angelica cuts me off.
"That's enough!" She shouted.
I flinched a bit. But neither of them noticed. I looked away and stayed silent.
"Me and my daughter will make sure to help and take care of her." The man says.
"Alright. I'll come and check up on you every now and then." Angelica said before she left.
"Let me show you to your room. But you'll be sharing with my daughter. She didn't mind so I hope you don't either." He explained leading me to a room. Half the room was full of stuff while the other which I'm guessing is my part had a bed and everything ready. "I'll leave you to packing." He said and left. As I began to unpack my few clothes.
