❀Chapter 10❀

"Ok, small and irritating human beings, we are going to be learning about trees." Yoongi told the class as they sat on their designated mats. Mrs Moore had told Yoongi that she was going to be out for the day and had left him a small list of things for the children to learn. Yoongi stuck with the easiest on the list – trees.

Lunch had just ended and Yoongi had managed to get the unruly children to take a seat on their mats below the teacher's chair, where he sat. The children talked and giggled with each other as they sat side by side, causing Yoongi to let out loud shushes in attempt to quiet them. It annoyed Yoongi that the main subject of their conversations was about his cousin - the cousin that was hiding fearfully behind his chair, like a two year old.

Yoongi had three hours until the parents came and picked their children up, but even then he'd still be left with an overgrown man child. If only he could get rid of him. Can you donate humans to thrift stores? Yoongi pondered as he looked behind his chair to the crying 23 year old. Probably not. What if I just send him back to his parents in the mail? No, he couldn't do that. Not only would that probably be expensive and a violation, but Jungkook was a criminal now and his parents would surely be in trouble if they had him in their possession.

It seemed Yoongi was stuck with the kid.

"Ok, can anyone tell me what a tree is?" Yoongi asked flatly, brushing the thought out of his mind and telling himself to focus on the job. A girl in the corner – one he'd found was named Rosie, put her hand up. He gave her an acknowledging nod so she would speak.

"A tree is a plant and it grows out of the ground and you can put a swing on it." The little girl gushed proudly, looking triumphantly over all her amazed friends.

"Sure." Yoongi dismissed her, pointing over to another child who had their hands up. "Mommy said a tree gives us oxininijin."

"Well then, your mommy can't pronounce for Shh...shat." Yoongi countered, stumbling over his profanities, "the way to pronounce it is 'Oxygen.'"

"You won't even get an F minus for that, buddy, that's like a Z minus." Yoongi added.

"What does Z minus mean?" The boy pouted, obviously sad that he wasn't being praised for his knowledge. "It means Zeal but you still failed severely." Yoongi responded, making up his own meaning for the harsh grading. "Anyone else?"

"Trees help us breathe." A little girl of Polynesian descent spoke up eagerly, only to have Yoongi sigh at her. "Look here, Tutti Fruity," He began, as her name, which he had learnt yesterday, decided to leave his brain. What was it again? Yoongi asked himself. "My name's Tallulah." The little girl responded with a dirty look.

"Tallulah, then." Yoongi spat back at her, "you're little friend over there already said that." Tallulah watched as he pointed a finger over at the curly headed boy in the group.

"No he didn't." The girl objected as she turned back to him, stomping her foot. "I said it first!"

"He was talking about Oxygen, and if you had any idea what that was, you'd know that someone already said what you just said."

"But he didn't say they help us breathe! He just said Oxygen!" The girl protested, angrily.

Too annoyed to explain further, Yoongi clapped his hands to cover the sound of her whinging. "Let's go do some tree drawing!"

Yoongi walked past each child as they sat at their coloured tables, drawing. As he examined each drawing, and despite the fact that most of them were pretty much just a line with some scribble at the top, he thought they weren't that bad. Until he saw one of the children – the energetic rascal blonde he had tried so hard to manage - drawing the weirdest picture he had ever seen.

In the picture was, of course, a tree, but the tree had a sad face on it, and beside it was some stick figure holding something with a disturbing expression on its face. If anything, it looked like the stick figure was holding a knife. "Um, George," Yoongi tapped the boy on the shoulder, causing him to look up, "what are you drawing?"

George looked back down at his page with a smile. "I'm drawing a person cutting down the tree." He explained, pointing to the stick figure.

"Yeah, but why is he smiling like that?"

"Smiling like what?" The boy frowned.

"Like a maniac?" Yoongi asked, highly disturbed. The boy observed the picture before smiling innocently. "Oh, that's because he wants to hurt the tree." He said casually.

"You mean he wants to make paper?" Yoongi asked. The boy shook his head, pointing again to the stick figurine. "The man wants to hurt the tree and sell its body."

Yoongi had to blink for a second as his mind wandered away in a world of what-the-fuck. He pointed to the boy's drawing. "You know this is paper, right?"

Before the boy could answer, the sound of someone calling out 'Hello' from the door was heard. No doubt it was one of the parents, Yoongi predicted as he turned to the clock, but it was only 1pm. It was still two hours till pick up time. Cautiously, stepping away from the small blonde boy, Yoongi approached the door.

"I'm sorry to interrupt," the feminine voice called from the door, "I've just got to speak to Mrs Moore." Yoongi wondered if this had something to do with him. Maybe the woman was here to complain to his employer about his treatment of the children...or Jungkook.

Was he going to lose his job?

As he opened the door, Yoongi expected there to be some middle aged woman standing at the door in some button up suit and a frown, ready to lose her shit at him for something he said to her kid, but this woman was definitely not that.

She was around his age, with a soft, youthful face and glowy dark hair that brushed over the top of bulky hearing aids that sat behind her ears. The coffee brown of her irises were cradled by the skin that arched artistically into two almond shapes beside her small nose. Her pink lips curved upwards into a soft smile as she looked at him, not seeming at all like she was going to lose her shit at the man.

He could hear her softly bid him a, "Hi." But he was much too enamoured with her beauty. He had forgotten about the fact that she was probably there to complain about him. He was totally and utterly speechless.

Whoever's parent this was, she was gorgeous.

Anyway, hope you enjoyed. I know the writing is pretty rough today and the chapters are short but I went to bed at like 3am last night and have a whole lot of judging to do, plus I promised I'd update 'Stay at home' andddd I have to update some more Hunter's creek.

By the way, please, if you have time, go and read 'Hunter's creek' its not very long (yet, because its ongoing)  but it seems to be the least popular book of mine T_T

Also, who is your favorite character atm?

And what was your favorite part?

I love you so much my cucurachas for reading and supporting this book!
