Chapter 14: The End of a Great Night
(A/N Again with that rule.)
The two continued running until the club was out of sights. They stopped before panting for a bit before looking at each other then bursting out laughing.
“I didn’t think you’d help me start a bar fight,” Angel said.
“Hey. It was to help you, even though you were helping me too,” Y/N pointed out.
“True,” he lightly chuckled then wondered, “Hey. Since you’ve been here, you haven’t flown anywhere with those wings of yours. Any reason why?”
Y/N was a bit nervous. She hadn’t flown since her wings were taken away from her, it being over a couple of decades since.
“Guess I'm just used to walking. I haven’t fully gotten used to them yet,” Y/N answered, not technically lying.
“Makes sense,” Angel shrugged then asked, “How about we try them out now?”
“We? Now? But I-I don’t want to put you in danger if it goes badly,” she replied.
“Hey. I trust you for it to not go badly,” he told her, putting his top hands on her shoulders and holding hers with his bottom ones.
Y/N couldn’t help but smile at how much Angel trusted her. She then nodded and he turned around for her to grab his waist. She did so, in between both sets of arms, then gave her wings a good flap.
They were soon in the air, with her a little off balance.
“Hey hey hey. Relax, babe. You got this,” Angel encouraged, placing his bottom set of hands on hers.
She took a deep breath and obeyed. As soon as she did, she was more balanced and flying like a pro. She smiled as she soared around while holding onto Angel, who was enjoying the flight as well.
“Thank you, Angel. I’m so glad I met you,” Y/N thanked, her head buried into his back.
Angel smiled and responded, “I’m glad I met you too, Gorgeous.”
He then had her turn him around then she flew in place over the clouds, the pentagram moon peeking through. His top arms were loosely around her neck and his bottom ones were tightly around her waist while her arms were in between, holding him. He then used his right top hand to caress her cheek.
“I never told you this before, but ever since I met you, I’ve actually tried to be redeemed,” he confessed.
“Really? You mean it?” she asked, touched by this.
“Yes. I never really believed in the whole redemption thing. Thought it was bullshit since we’re in Hell. But then I met you and it actually looked like I could be better than who I am,” Angel replied.
“Hey. You are amazing the way you are already. Being redeemed isn’t about changing everything about yourself. It’s about realizing your mistakes, asking forgiveness for said mistakes, learning from them, and more. Getting to know you has been amazing and as long as you’ve completed those, then I don’t see how you couldn’t be redeemed,” Y/N said.
Angel smiled and slowly started leaning in. She did as well and as they were feeling each other’s breaths against their faces, gunshots sounded off near them. Out of reflex, Y/N flew off a bit further, holding onto Angel protectively.
“What was that?” she asked.
Angel looked around until he found the source and answered, “Looks like the bar fight escalated. We better get back to the hotel before shit really gets out of hand.”
“Okay,” Y/N nodded.
She flew them to the hotel, her dropping Angel off on his balcony.
“I had a great time tonight,” Angel smiled.
“I did too,” Y/N did the same then requested, “Give Nuggy a hug for me?”
He chuckled and said, “I can do that. Good night.”
“Good night,” she returned.
She then flew to her balcony right beside his and they waved before heading inside. They got changed and headed to bed. But Y/N laid awake with conflicting thoughts about everything that’s happened since she came to Hell. While she was on a mission, something else happened that she didn’t expect to happen: she fell in love with Angel Dust.
(A/N Play it now.)
[Y/N:]
“A million thoughts in my head
Should I let my heart keep listening
'Cause up 'til now I've walked the line
Nothing lost but something missing
I can't decide
What's wrong, what's right
Which way should I go?
If only I knew what my heart was telling me
Don't know what I'm feeling
Is this just a dream?
Ah oh, yeah
If only I could read the signs in front of me
I could find the way to who I'm meant to be
Ah oh, if only
If only
If only
Every step, every word
With every hour I am falling in
To something new, something brave
To someone I, I have never been
I can't decide
What's wrong, what's right
Which way should I go
If only I knew what my heart was telling me
Don't know what I'm feeling
Is this just a dream?
Ah oh, yeah
If only I could read the signs in front of me
I could find the way to who I'm meant to be
Ah oh, if only
Yeah
Am I crazy? Maybe we could happen
Yeah
Will you still be with me when the magic's all run out?
If only I knew what my heart was telling me
Don't know what I'm feeling
Is this just a dream?
Ah oh
If only I could read the signs in front of me
I could find the way to who I'm meant to be
Ah oh
If only, yeah
If only, yeah
If only, yeah
If only
If only
If only”
Y/N sighed and wiped the couple of tears that formed before officially going to bed.
