~ 83 ~

Juyeon was hiding under the bed as he heard Chan and Dayeong walk in.

"There's a surprise for you," he heard Chan say. "Your closet... it's been redecorated," he said. Juyeon winced, hoping that Dayeong wouldn't see through the very obvious lie. Chan didn't sound honest at all.

"Redecorated? Why? I don't even live here anymore."

Juyeon's whole world spun to a standstill.

He'd dreamed about her for the weeks and months they'd been apart. He'd wanted to hear her voice so badly that he'd closed his eyes and imagined it on more than one occasion. And now there she was, just out of arm's reach.

It took an insane amount of self-control to stick to the plan and not just jump out and run up to her. The original plan had been for him to be hiding and surprising her. At least, that's what Chan had suggested. But considering her condition, he didn't want to actually scare her. So here he was, hiding under the bed.

"See for yourself," he heard Chan say. Juyeon heard the closet doors open and as they did, he shimmied out from under the bed and quietly walked over to Chan.

His hands were shaking and his throat grew dry at the sight of her. She was gorgeous, wearing a flowy yellow dress, the same color of the roses he brought her time and time again. Her hair was slightly curled, falling past her shoulders in waves.

He watched her intently, waiting.

"Chan," she said, peering into her closet and looking increasingly concerned, though she didn't bother to take a step in. "Why did you say that? There's nothing-"

Her words were cut off when she turned to face them.

Juyeon swallowed, choking back tears. "Hey Princess," he whispered.

She stood there, looking at him. Tears were welling up in her eyes, and she raised one hand to cover her mouth.

"I'll leave you two," Chan whispered, quickly slipping out to guard the door.

They stayed rooted in place, looking at each other.

"I love you," Juyeon finally whispered. "I'm sorry-"

But he wasn't able to finish that sentence, because she ran forward, throwing her arms around his neck. His hands found her waist and he pulled her closer. He felt her tears fall on his neck, and the sound of her crying only served to make him cry as well.

"I've missed you," he whispered into her hair. "So much."

She pulled away slightly so that she could look at him. Her eyes were so gentle and filled with so much love that they took his breath away. She gently placed a hand on his cheek. "You are my miracle," she said softly. "I can finally breathe again," she murmured, putting her hands on his shoulders and tippy-toeing, her lips finding his.

His eyes closed as he kissed her back with an intensity that was overwhelming. He pulled her hips closer to him as he felt tears run down her cheeks. The kiss was speaking in ways neither of them could.

Never again, it was saying.

They would never be separated again.
