Chapter 33

Randall

I didn't know how to respond while he sat in my arms looking at me and waiting for an answer. He slowly backed away from me, causing me to remove my arms from around him. I was caught and I didn't want to accept the fact.

"Who is Fabian?" I repeated the question back to him adding a bit of attitude. "I don't know, who the fuck is he?"

"Don't play games with me, Randall." Dion was pissed and I wasn't aware of how much information he had received.

Did Jeffrey tell him about Fabian? If so, how? When did Jeffrey find out?

Did Fabian tell Jeffrey? Did Fabian call Dion?

"Where did you get this name from?" I asked as he moved his leg from across mine.

"Does it matter?!"

"Yes it does! Because if you got it from Jeffrey, I just told you he was jealous of you. So why not put something in your head knowing how emotional you get." I snapped. Dion looked at me and said nothing. That was my indication Jeffrey had mentioned Fabian.

"So what, regardless of who I got it from, who is he?"

"I don't know him that well, I only met him once when I met Jeffrey to tell him to leave my sister alone."

"So you do know him?"

"I know of him. I said he was there when I met with Jeffrey. So if you want to know more about Fabian, then I suggest you call Jeffrey and ask him since the both of you have gotten so tight." I said rising off the couch and going into the kitchen for something to drink.

I really didn't go over to Dion's place to fight with him, this was not in my plans for the rest of my day. While I stood in the kitchen getting a drink, he slowly walked into the kitchen and stood by the island with his arms folded in front of him. Dion was ready to admit defeat when he crossed his arms. That was my sign that I had convinced him that Fabian was someone I really didn't know. As long as he felt that way, I was in the clear.

"I'm sorry," Dion started. I glanced at him; he didn't make eye contact with me. "Jeffrey told me that you were fucking around with Fabian."

"I see that you and Jeffrey just had a great conversation about me." I took a sip as I glared at him.

"I said I was sorry." Dion blurted.

"Whatever." I finished my drink and placed the glass in the sink. "I gotta go." I said walking towards the door.

"You're leaving?"

"Yes. I didn't come over here to deal with all of this shit. I had had enough dealing with Marianna and to come over here and deal with you flinging shit too, I'd rather leave."

"Fine! Take yo' ass on then, bitch!'

"Really? We gon' go there now?!" My voice raised an octave. I turned around scowling as anger began to build. However, I couldn't get too mad, I created this mess. "You just apologized 5 minutes ago and now I'm a bitch?!"

Dion stood looking frightened as I approached him, he had never experienced my anger before. His eyes were filled with uncertainty as he leaned back against the island. I was just tired of everything that was going on with Jeffrey, Dion was supposed to be my release so him starting shit with me was something I didn't want to deal with.

"I...I..," Dion stuttered as I stood in front of him glaring. He was so nervous, he wasn't sure what to do with his hands; moving them around trying to figure out if he would have to defend himself or not. "I'm sorry baby, please."

"You're sorry? You just called me a bitch!" I yelled. Dion cringed.

"I was angry. I didn't know Jeffrey was playing me." He looked defeated, he was so in love with me, I could tell him lie after lie and he would believe me.

I stepped closer to him leaving just about a 5 inch gap between us; he looked up at me, gazing into my eyes looking for forgiveness. I wanted to milk him apologizing to me but I really just wanted to relax.

"I'll show you who's the bitch." I cupped the back of his head and kissed him sensually, my tongue invaded his mouth as I kissed him. I wanted to forget for a just a moment and let it be just us.

"Mmmmm," Dion moaned softly as I embraced him. "So I have you for the night?"

"Yes."

After Michael arrived at Mother's hotel room, we were booted out quickly. Whatever the two of them had going on, they were in love. I could see it, both of them beamed when they saw each other after a long separation. Vicki and I thought it was sweet that Michael was taking care of Mother making sure she had everything she needed. I did find it interesting Mother introduced Michael to Bryan as a close personal friend of hers and not Father's assistant.

Bryan, being the PI, completely understood the situation between them when we left. He knew what was going on and he had no problem with it. In fact, he said that he was happy she had 'moved on' from Father. When I thought about it, Mother had actually moved on. I'm sure Father had no clue right now, which is why Michael asked me to let him know when I planned on taking Father down.

My next chapter will be about finding our brother, Bryan. We talked about the book briefly but I didn't mention that I was the author that penned the book. I'm sure it will bring a lot of attention as I also planned on bringing Randall or the son of the family, out of the closet. I'm sure that it will ruffle some feathers, but from the information Jeffrey gave to Marianna, I'm sure Randall already had his world flipped upside down.

Vicki and I had planned on meeting up with Mother later on to go over wedding stuff, which I was willing to participate in because it wasn't me who was getting married. Mother was happy Vicki was getting married, she was more enthusiastic about it than she was when they arranged my engagement. Ironically, we were supposed to announce our engagement and upcoming nuptials this week, but that has been totally canceled. I'm sure Father would be upset about the deal falling through. No marriage, no merger.

I decided to go to the office and upload a few chapters, introducing Bryan David as Joseph Bryan. He just so happens to have become a doctor as well who had been hired at the same hospital as the main character. Janelle was impressed that The Prominent Doctor was still number #1 on the Hot List going on 8 weeks.

"Your novel is really doing well. People are downloading your other novels as well." she mentioned as I stood in her office.

"Really?"

"Yup, you are a certified writer, Ms. Ericka Davey." She giggled and I chucked while shaking my head.

"I didn't expect this turnout at all," I said looking at the analytics on Janelle's laptop. "It's surreal."

"Well, you should be getting your first royalty check soon. I think now is a good time to get a lawyer to renegotiate your contract." she said, looking at me.

"Are you serious?" I didn't expect that.

"Yes, dead serious. Your story is popular and it is bringing in the viewers. I've seen it happen before. I would suggest you get a lawyer, sooner than later."

Damn! I couldn't imagine how far this would go. If readers were already going crazy with the book still ongoing, how will they act when I complete it? After thinking about it for a while, I decided to wait to bring Randall's story to light as it may be the beginning of a series.

"Well I have another story after this one that I'm putting together."

"Is it a second book?"

"No, but it would be book 2 of a series." I said, raising one eyebrow and looking at her. Janelle's face glowed as she sat back.

"Interesting. An entirely different story but related to the first, correct?"

"Yes, it's the doctor's son." Janelle shot me a look.

"Your brother?"

"Yeah, but names will be changed to protect the innocent." I said, smiling slyly.

"I'm invested already."

Bryan

Madeline had been telling me about someone she wanted me to meet and also having a special night with both of them. I was intrigued by her offer, but also wondered if she was setting me up. Madeline is a beautiful woman that fulfills my sexual desires but I still think she may have had something to do with our photos being taken in Paris; I just have nothing to prove it.

I decided to have Russell run a check on Madeline to calm my anxiety. I loved the time I spent with Madeline, she satisfies me in many ways that Angela has never done. She allows me to do so many unspeakable sensual activities with her that she just fascinates me.

"Hey Russ," I could hear him rustling around some paperwork. "It's Bryan, again."

"I see, what can I do you for? This is quite a treat!" Russell said excitedly.

"I need you to look into Madeline Rutherford for me."

"Oooo, really? She's a wealthy millionaire. What do you supposed I look for?"

"Her connections in Paris. I'm trying the process of elimination." I answered. I needed to make sure all my ducks were in a row before I took Madeline up on her offer.

"Ahh, you think that little tart has something to do with you and the scandal on television, huh?" he asked.

"I have an inkling that she may be behind it."

"Yeah, yeah, I can see that, but Bryan," Russell said, clearing his throat. "You'd have to ask yourself though, what is the reason she would benefit from having you smeared in the public eye?"

He was right. What would she benefit from smearing me? "I get what you're saying." I thought about it.

"Especially if she's being seen with you, that would also bring her into the spotlight as well with the possibility of marring her reputation." Russell stated.

"This is true."

"But I'll check her out for you. Who knows, she may know the author?"

"I was thinking the same thing!" I exclaimed.

"But again, it goes back to what would she benefit from doing so? She's already rich, so it wouldn't be for money or fame."

"You make sense, old man!" I said laughing. He chuckled on the other line.

"Who are you calling old? You're older than me!" He bellowed. "I'll call you back when I get something. You better make those plans to come for a visit before something else hits the fan and you won't be able to do so."

"You're absolutely right. I'll have my assistant set up a trip for me soon. I need to get away from the public eye for a moment." I agreed.

I really needed to get away for a moment in order to let people forget my indiscretions.
