A/n: Sniffles, the smartest animal in Happy Tree Village has treating his girlfriend, Y/n very coldly lately since they have been in a relationship together for a while, but nothing seems to change his attitude. Until Y/n decides to turn to Nutty the sugar crazed squirrel, who grows feeling with her that actually caught Sniffles’s attention and makes an attempt to prove who is more loyal to Y/n.

A/n #2: This is also my first Tsundere oneshot. I hope you enjoy it. :)

In the city of Happy Tree Village, our story takes place in a house/laboratory hybrid where Y/n the F/c rabbit was tapping her foot while waiting for Sniffles to go on their date they had planned together, but Sniffles had to do something for a minute, which became from 1 minute to 15 minutes. Why? Well, it's because Sniffles was a genius and was considered the smartest person in Happy Tree Village and he was get killed in his experiments, mostly to get back at a family of ants, since he is an anteater and his experiments lead to him get killed in various ways. Y/n and Sniffles have been in a relationship for a while, but Sniffles have been really cold towards Y/n and nothing seems to change his behavior, but Sniffles still loved Y/n and he only wanted to protect her from getting harmed by his own experiments he always conducted in his own lab saying that is for the name of science, despite Y/n trying to convince him for dealing with illegal chemicals and/or conducts mad-scientist type experiments.

Y/n: Why do you always have to keep conducting experiments in your lab, even when were going on a date that we planned together?

Sniffles: It's for science, Y/n. I just don't want you to get caught in one of my experiments that will end your life and that will make me regret it for the rest of my life.

How many times that Y/n has heard that excuse from her crush, It's for science, Y/n.

Y/n: Yeah, I know. That's the 26th time you said that when we had our 25th date together. I'm starting to believe that you love science more than me.

Sniffles: I am not cheating you for science!! I just don't want you to die in my own experiments! I just had to make sure that everything is put away or else something bad will happen to everyone including us!

Y/n is getting tired of waiting for Sniffles to take his sweet time in his own lab whenever they were about to go on their dates. So it looks like she is going to conduct her own experiments to make Sniffles change his behavior, making him completely jealous.

Y/n: Alright, fine. Are you finished put away your toys, Sniffy~

Sniffles smirked at his pet name, Sniffy that Y/n gave him as a sign of her affection, but he thinks that name is making him look like a test animal.

Sniffles: Don't call me that, Y/n. You know that I don't like being called Sniffy.

Y/n: I know, I know.

Sniffles: Good. Now are you ready to go on our date?

Y/n: Yes. I'm ready to go, Sniffy.

Sniffles: *Groans*

Timeskip - 30 Minutes Later - With the family of ants laughing at his pet name and Sniffles's urge to kill rising.

Location: The Tower of Pizza - Downtown Happy Tree Village

Y/n and Sniffles arrived at the location of their date when they first met each other, The Tower of Pizza. Y/n was looking around for someone that she contacted to help out her plan to make Sniffles jealous and she found him at the entrance of the restaurant, wearing a snazzy suit and a fake mustache, Nutty the squirrel.

Yep. Nutty is the person that is helping Y/n with her relationship with Sniffles since he and Sniffles are good friends, but sometimes Nutty gets caught in one of his experiments and Sniffles was able to save him multiple times making Nutty getting used to being in pain. Y/n contacted Nutty before the night of their date to use him as ammunition to make Sniffles jealous to change his cold behavior. Nutty already arrived at the restaurant and he managed to convince everyone that worked there including the owner, Dracunyan to help out with the plan. Y/n knows that Nutty is growing feelings for Y/n and she is willing to have two boyfriends instead of one and Nutty is happy to help her with her plan to change Sniffles cold behavior if any means necessary. It's a battle against Sugar and Wits.

Nutty: Hello. Table for two lovebirds tonight?

Y/n: Yes, please.

Sniffles squinted his eyes even though he is wearing glasses, but he somehow recognized Nutty's disguise and began to wonder what he is up to this time?

Nutty brought them to a table outside of the restaurant where they can get the great view of the full moon in the night sky, making the scene more romantic.

Nutty: Here is your table, lovelies. Your waiter will be here to take your order.

With that, he dashed out of the scene but came back in a totally different outfit.

Nutty: Hello there, My name is Nutmeg and I will be your waiter tonight. What could I get for the lovely lady here?

Y/n: *Giggles* I would like a garden salad with french dip on the side and a water.

Nutty: Mhmm. And what would the handsome man like today?

Sniffles: Hmm. I'll have what she's having.

Nutty: Excellent choice.

Then Nutty dashed away again, leaving Sniffles suspicious on what's going on.

Sniffles: What are you up to, Y/n?

Y/n: Oh nothing~ *Giggles* I'm just enjoying our date together, Sniffy~

Sniffles: STOP CALLING ME THAT!

Y/n: Ok, but you're still cute when you're so angry *Giggles*

Sniffles: *Groans*

Then Nutty came back with the salads and drinks to the table and even brought a violinist playing Y/n favorite song. Then they ordered a F/Pt pizza and Nutty we went back to the kitchen. Then Nutty came from out of nowhere(Obviously) and took a seat with them, right next to Y/n.

Nutty: Hey guys. Lovely evening isn't it?

Y/n: Yes. It is lovely~

Sniffles: Nutty, what are you doing here? You're not trying to cause any trouble again are you?

Nutty: Ah come on, Sniffy. I just want to hang out with my two favorite people tonight.

Sniffles: Stop calling me, Sniffy!! That name makes me feel like a test animal.

Y/n: I'm calling you a test animal, Sniffles. I would never call you that and I never use that name in public. Because I knew that would humiliate you and would make me regret for the rest of my life.

Nutty: Yeah. I would do that either, buddy. That would make me regret too and I just wanted to share Y/n with my best and smartest buddy in the whole world.

Sniffles: Huh?

Nutty: Yeah, I grew feelings with her and I wanted to share my little candy cane with you because I wanted to sweeten our relationship with Y/n. I may be crazy for candy and sugar, but I'm not stupid and I know that you are way smarter to not act so cold towards your best experiment for true love.

Sniffles was shocked about Nutty's confession and he finally realized of his mistakes. He knew that Y/n was right all along of how he always was so busy with his experiments and was such a bad boyfriend to Y/n and why she always called him Sniffy because he thought she was calling him names for not paying attention to her. He was completely jealous of Nutty, even when he was willing to share with Y/n.

When Dracunyan came to he table with the pizza, he said that it was on the house as well as everything else. Y/n and Nutty is enjoying eating the pizza and Sniffles was unhappy of what he did. He moved his chair to be on the other side of Y/n. He became clingy towards Y/n and he started nuzzling on Y/n shoulder, which Y/n sighed in satisfaction instead of pushing him away.

Sniffles: Y/n?

Y/n: Yes, sweetie~?

Sniffles: I'm so sorry about my behavior? Can you forgive me for my actions?

Y/n: Of course, honey. Only if you allow Nutty to be part of the relationship and accept my pet name I gave you.

Nutty: Yeah, buddy. I understand of your goal to discover more about science and I promise to take over for you if she wants to go on a date and you can continue on your experiments. What do you say, Sniffy?

Sniffles: Ok. I will accept your offer, but I will not be responsible for the damage you will cause in the village.

Y/n and Nutty: We know.

Sniffles: Alright. Now can we continue our date, then.

Y/n: Sure.

Sniffles: *Chuckles* Good.

And so, with Y/n's plan a success and Sniffles's cold behavior gone, they continued enjoying the rest of their date with Nutty a new member of the relationship.

Like I said, It's a Battle against Sugar and wits. And Sugar wins the match.
