when trust is broken, sorry means nothing

THIS WAS HOW most of the school day went; any member of the McCall pack trying to speak to Stiles who kept disappearing or hanging around one of his new friends.

Like, right now, the group stood in the hallway, talking about their plan of trying to blend in while searching for the Cup, but Simon spotted a few members of the pack approaching from down the hall, and wrapped his arm around Stiles' shoulders.

"They're coming," he said only loud enough for them to be able to hear, and directed Stiles away from them.

"They really don't know when to give up, do they?" Jace asked, blonde brows furrowed as he glared over at the pack

Stiles looked over at him, shrugging. "It's one of their many... qualities." He then frowned at the blonde who looked protective. "I don't know what's gotten into you, but—"

Jace looked over at him, frowning deeply. "I may have realized I was too harsh on you, and I am trying to make up for that by keeping you away from those jackasses."

Alec and Isabelle shared a look, both seemingly surprised but proud of Jace for admitting his wrong-doings.

Clary smiled up at the blonde, happy that he wasn't being so rude to her brother for no reason anymore.

Ever since Stiles has shown up, Clary has seen a whole new side of Jace that she hadn't seen days prior, and she was honestly glad for that. She had been slowly falling for Jace since the first second she laid eyes on him, but now, after seeing him treat someone close to her with hatred, those feelings went away. Now, all she sees him as is a friend.

"Stiles!" Scott shouted from down the hall, interrupting their little moment.

"Let's go!" Simon exclaimed, pointing ahead of them with his arm, and began shoving Stiles into a classroom.

"This isn't even our next class, Simon," Stiles said through his chuckles, shaking his head at his best friend.

"So what?" Jace shoved Stiles toward an empty seat in the back. "Just sit down before they come in."

Scott, Lydia, and Malia was seen looking through the open doorway just ad Stiles sat down and his new friends sat in the other empty seats around his.

"McCall! Martin! Hale!" Coach shouted as he came out of his office. "You are not in this class at the moment! Get out!"

The pack members quickly scrambled out, giving Stiles a look as they did so.

Clary giggled and leaned over to pat Stiles on the head like he was a puppy. "The look on their faces!" She exclaimed, giggling even more, not noticing the soft look Izzy was aiming her way.

Jace did. He smirked and judged Izzy who shot him an annoyed glance before pushing her hair out of her face and facing the front of the classroom.

THE SHADOWHUNTERS WERE now trying to enjoy their lunch on one of the benches outside. The McCall wasn't far enough away from them to not look suspicious, but close enough to listen in on their conversation.

"Who do they think they are?" Lydia asked, looking at the group that surrounded Stiles with a frown. "And he seriously thinks he can just disappear from our lives and reappear like nothing happened?"

"I can't believe he comes back strutting his new look with a girl on each of his arms," Malia said through clenched teeth, staring over at her ex-boyfriend who was throwing pieces of his bread at Clary.

"The redhead is his sister," Liam pointed out, confused on why the pack was being mean toward Stiles. Although he knows nothing about the boy, there was no way he was mean or evil, so why does his new friends hate him?

"Shut up, Liam," Scott snapped before sighing when the boy flinched. "Stiles has no sister. Noah never had another kid, especially a twin to Stiles." He frowned at the thought of Noah. "He would be so disappointed in who Stiles has become."

Liam frowned at them, beginning to push his food around on his plate.

Lydia rolled her eyes when Stiles let out a laugh from something the stupid brunette had said. "Maybe we should listen in on their conversation to see what they're talking about because there is no way he came back here without some sort of mission."

Malia nodded, tuning in on her supernatural hearing at the same time Scott did.

"Wait wait, I got one," Stiles said through his laughter. "What kind of streets do ghosts haunt?"

Jace rolled his eyes at the stupid joke. "What?"

Stiles snorted out, "dead ends!"

Clary let out an unladylike snort and slapped the table, shaking her head. "That was terrible, Mischief!"

Malia scrunched her nose up at the nickname. "What the hell did she just call him?"

Scott sighed. "It's some stupid nickname he came up with when we were kids."

Lydia scoffed. "Sounds stupid to me."

"Why can't you trust an atom?" Clary asked, trying to hold back her smile, but failing. "Because they make up everything!"

Simon shook his head at his best friend. "I told you that joke like a year ago."

Clary playfully shoved him. "But you ruined the joke, remember? You kept on rambling about how small atom are and what the do, and then you got distracted when a pretty girl walked by us."

Simon blushed at that. "Oh... yeah. I remember that."

Clary smiled at him. "I love you Simon, but sometimes you're a doofus."

"A pretty doofus!" Stiles exclaimed as he grabbed Simon into a protective hug, ignoring Simon's attempts at getting out of his hold. "He's my doofus... doofus!"

Isabelle smirked and pulled Clary into her lap, wrapping her arms protectively around the redheads waist. "And she's my doofus so stop bullying her!"

"I wasn't bullying her!" Stiles defended himself as he petted Simon's hair.

While all of this was happening, Alec's blue eyes did not once leave Stiles' figure, a soft smile on his beautiful face.

Jace smirked as he noticed this, and nudged his parabatai. Alec was knocked out of his trance and blushed deeply before trying to pull it off by clearing his throat and looking away from them.

Not once did the other four stop their bickering to notice this, well... except for Izzy who was smirking at her brother.
