Chapter 2: Heccin' Coffee With Two YouTubers???
I try not to freak out as Dan and Arin stand up, prepared to lead me to the coffee shop they were speaking of.
Dan then grabs my hand, making me literally die inside, and begins to lead me to the coffee shop. Arin awkwardly tags along beside us. "This coffee place is the best," Dan says. "I think you'll like it."
I try my best to prevent my face from becoming a tomato due to our hand-holding, but I know I'm failing miserably. I smile. "Well, I'll like anything with even the tiniest amount of caffeine in it. Work has wiped me out."
"Oh? What do you do for work?" Dan asks, looking at me quizzically.
Wow, his brown eyes are making me melt. It's hard to believe that such a common eye color can look so unique on someone.
Arin nods, also curious.
"I'm an author," I answer, getting lost in Dan's eyes. "I put a lot of pressure on myself to finish something by a certain time, so I sometimes forget to take care of myself."
Dan smiles with sympathy. "Ah, that sucks. I don't really know what that feels like, though. Matt and Ryan probably do, though. They're the ones that work their asses off to edit our videos."
Arin nods again. "Yeah, Dan and I don't do shit."
"Well, you guys record the funniest videos on the planet," I say, glancing between Dan and Arin (my eyes linger on Dan for a few seconds longer though). "You guys for real brighten my day."
"Awww," Arin says, playfully elbowing me in the ribs (for a cinnamon roll, Arin is quite strong). "You're too nice."
Dan glances down at the ground for a split second before looking back at me. He smiles nervously and goes, "You're brightening my day right now..."
I blush deeply, giggling to myself. "Thanks, Dan..."
I see Arin gape at us from the corner of my eye. He looks at Dan and mouths something. I'm not good at lip-reading, though, so I don't really know what he's saying.
Dan looks like a wave of realization swept over him. "Oh, that's right! I never got your name," he says, looking at me expectantly.
I smile. "(Y/N) (L/N). It really has been a pleasure to meet you."
Arin looks sad, so I quickly add, "You too, Arin."
That brings a smile to the grump's face.
We're now at the coffee place. I look up, and the sign reads, "Coffee Shop".
I stifle a laugh, surprised that that's the coffee shop's actual name.
I then look down at the smaller sign beside it. It says, "You need caffeine to live. So come on in!"
I smile and say to Dan and Arin, "I haven't even been inside this place, but I can already tell that it's great." I point to the smaller sign. "Look at its sign, for God's sake!"
Dan smiles also. "Told you you'd like it."
And with that, the three of us walk inside of Coffee Shop.

Once we get in there, we order our desired beverages, find a table, take a seat (Arin was across from me and Dan was next to me), and begin to talk about life.
I'm about to fall asleep, since I was barely awake in the first place. Maybe I should take a break from writing...
I sigh. "Arin, Dan, do you guys have a Red Bull?"
Dan shakes his head. "No. I wish I did. I'm pretty tired."
"Maybe I should start carrying them in my purse," I mumble, earning chuckles from Arin and Dan. I look at the small vending machine that's relatively close to our booth, and nope. Not a single Red Bull. Or any energy drink, for that matter. (OR BAGS, IF YOU DON'T LIKE PURSES. I KNOW YA'LL ARE GONNA COMMENT THAT YOU DON'T LIKE PURSES, AND I WANNA SAVE MYSELF FROM THAT.)
"Arin, do you have one?" I ask. "It's kinda weird of me to ask, since I'm pretty sure you don't carry one in your—whoa."
I get cut off by Arin pulling a Red Bull out of his pants' pocket. Huh. I was just about to say that he probably didn't carry one in his pocket. He slams it on the table and looks at me, smiling. "I always try to carry some sort of energy drink around. You never know when you might pass out due to exhaustion. Here. Have a Red Bull, m'lady."
I sigh with relief and snatch the Ref Bull, popping it open. "Thanks, Arin. You're a life-saver."
"That's me!" Arin says with a dopey smile. "Arin the life-saver!"
"What about that time you killed that praying mantis?" Dan asks, raising an eyebrow. "You didn't seem like a life-saver in that moment."
"Aw, the poor dude!" I say, sighing afterwards. "R.I.P, praying mantis. I'm sorry your life had to be ripped from you by a selfish man."
"BUT THEY'RE SO GROSS!" Arin screeches. "THE WAY THEIR HANDS ARE POSITIONED AND THE WAY THEY WALK....EUGH...." He cringes just thinking about it.
"Oh, and not to mention how the females eat the males after mating," Dan says, smirking as Arin cringes some more. "They bite off the head and—"
"LALALALALALALA," Arin babbles over Dan. "I CAN'T HEAR YOU!"
That's when our order gets called.
Arin jumps up and flies over to the counter, making Dan and I laugh.
Once Arin runs off, Dan turns to me and says, "(Y/N), I'm actually having a great time. I was wondering if...I can get your number. I kinda wanna keep in touch with you, and maybe even see you again, if you don't live too far away. Arin will probably want to as well. To both getting your number and seeing you again, I mean." He smiles. "Maybe we'll even have you on a Game Grumps episode."
The thought of getting Dan's number makes my heartbeat speed up dramatically. "Sure, you can have my number." I smile, take out a little notepad that I keep in my purse/bag, and write it down for Dan. I rip off the fragment of the page with my number on it and hand it to him just as Arin comes back with our drinks. He looks at the little slip I just handed Dan and says, "Wow Dan! So you already got her number? Man, what's next? A smooch?"
Both Dan and I go red. Dan glares at Arin and says through gritted teeth, "It's. So. That. We. Can. Meet. Up. With. Her. Again. Not. For. Dating. Purposes."
Geez. His mad voice is oddly intimidating.
And oddly attractive.
Arin gives Dan a "that's bullshit" look but brushes it off. "Actually, (Y/N), can I have your number too? I wanna keep in touch with you also."
I nod. "Sure." I write down my number a second time, rip off the fragment, and hand it to Arin.
"Thanks," Arin says with a smile, putting it in his pocket.
Still humiliated, Dan awkwardly stares at his straw. He clears his throat and says, "Uh...(Y/N)...what's your favorite game?"
(I'm about to name a game I personally like but anyone who doesn't like it can change it.)
"Doki Doki Literature Club," I answer immediately, smiling. "I like how fucked up it is."
Arin looks at Dan with a smirk, knowing how much that game destroyed him.
Dan shudders. "Ugh, don't even talk about that game. I still see dead Sayori whenever I try to go to sleep."
"Well, your reaction to her dying was priceless," I say with a laugh.
Dan smiles and us three continue talking.
And, before I know it, it's time to leave.
I bid my goodbyes to Arin and Dan and we part ways.
But as I walk away, I hear Dan mumble to Arin, "She's cute. I wanna see her again."
