Life Lesson

Have you ever questioned your purpose? Some might say we're here for a reason, that our fate is already written. Others believe there's no grand design, that our lives have no inherent meaning. Yet, just because we might not have a predestined role doesn't mean our existence is without value. Your presence matters, even if it feels like you're wandering without a map.

From the moment you're born, every word and every action ripple out, touching everyone around you, your family, your friends, even strangers you pass on the street. Your impact is real, and it's deep, though it might not always be seen...

Life is like a puzzle, with each of us a unique piece. We all fit into the grand plan, and our connections hold everything together. Without you, the picture remains incomplete. How can you see the whole image if a piece is missing?

Yet, people leave. And when they do, it can feel like the puzzle is shattered, and the picture is lost. But even as the shape of the puzzle changes, the memories remain. The piece that once held everything together is gone, but its absence doesn't erase its mark. Pain will stay, locked within, but moving on is important...

I haven't faced many losses, but one was profound...my grandmother. She was my world, my role model, my protector. She believed in me when no one else did, and her absence left a hole. I found myself lost, angry, and shattered. I cried out for her, but she was gone, yet, her memory stayed...

I eventually boxed up the pieces of my grief. Sometimes, when I feel lost and wish for escape, I open that box. Each piece holds a memory...a first step, a first kiss, the first heartbreak. She held my hand through my tears, teaching me that it's okay to cry, that those who belong in your heart will remain there forever...

You can't truly escape grief...you learn to live with it. But if you had the choice to relive a moment with someone you loved and lost, would you do it? My grandmother prepared me for her departure long before it came... She faced her own loss with grace, understanding that we're here for a reason...whether for a moment or for someone....

In the end, life is about what happens between the start and the end. It's worth living, and it's up to you to decide what memories you leave behind. I've learned from the most beautiful person in my life that those who belong in your heart will always stay...
