Well, I have to say, I find it amazing how your worldview changes when you suddenly become a husband and father overnight. If I wasn't worried about getting hurt in the field before, now I'm twice as careful about everything I do. And that's just so my husband and children don't lose me.

But even worse, is the fear that my children might get hurt. When little Yuan wanted to butter a slice of bread, I could already see in my mind's eye how he would hurt his little hand with this blunt knife. No shit, I took the knife away from him and checked first of all his little fingers, whether they are also intact. And what did the little guy say to me? "Dad, I'm a big boy. I can do this."

Pah, my heart is still racing now, thinking about how he held that knife. But he is harmless unlike my little Chen Lu. The little princess is learning judo! And during one of these training sessions, her opponent grabbed her and smashed her onto the mat. She almost landed on her face in the process. I immediately jumped up to see if she was hurt. And what does she do? She laughs happily and says, "Dad, you don't have to worry about me. I've had worse falls."

And I'm just like, "What?" I couldn't believe how nonchalant she was about it, while my heart was just pumping.

Oh, and then the thing about being a husband. Suddenly you see potential threats to your husband everywhere. And I don't just mean guys who want to harm him. But also men and women who could be interested in him!

They stare at my husband quite unconcerned, even though I'm there! And I think one woman has even undressed him with her looks. To show her who is the only one who can do that, I took Zhan in my arms and kissed him. The look from her afterwards was too delicious.

I would love to wrap all three of them, my husband and children, in absorbent cotton and lock them away somewhere safe from all the dangers of this world. That's how terrified I am that one of them will get hurt. And I've only been a husband and father for three months!

But apart from the constant new worry for my family, I am very happy as a husband and father. We even had a small wedding celebration where we put wedding rings on each other's fingers. Because that was also important to me.

The secret base in our stable is currently acting as a small agency for us. We even have a few agents working for us already. Mr. Chou personally recruited them. Oh, and Wooseok is also officially working for us now, after he made Zhan's name disappear from the agency's network. All entries about him, are gone!

Mr. Chou is currently thinking about bringing Seungyoun to us. Because he said, apart from his betrayal of me, he is a good data analyst and would be good for us in the Agency. After all, he finally succeeded in solving the case about the bribe-taking police officers in Yiling Police Station. After I left there, Seungyoun stayed in the police station and continued as before. The police officers gradually began to become more careless, and eventually he not only saw money being handed over several times, but had also found enough evidence to press charges.

I am still unsure about him and Zhan is following my lead in that regard. So this decision is still pending and cannot be made by Mr. Chou alone in this case.

My brother and brother-in-law are working with us now. They take care of our property and soon, as soon as we have a new and proper stable, they will even buy some animals. They are happy that they can finally work again. They would still like to be back in America, but they can't go there anymore because Zhan sold the ranch to get more money for his aid organization.

I don't know how Zhan did it, but he accomplished all of this in just one year. And he made me a part of it.

I wondered at first what my role in this would be, but now I know. Zhan wanted me all along to remain a special agent and help his aid organization as that. I am the middleman between several organizations like police, military or private security groups. Or in other words, I am the middleman for all the organizations under the control of a state.

And Zhan himself maintains contact with the mafia, cartels and triads. A billion-dollar project in which everyone works together!

At the moment I'm running our little agency, which I've named "Not Just Enemies". Why? Because it refers to Zhan and me. We were from the beginning, never just enemies. Even though I believed that at first. But I learned that an enemy is not always an enemy, but can also be an ally and even a friend. And that's exactly how we envision our agency.

Oh yes, so far I have not been able to have a conversation with my father. It is true that he was not arrested because he surrendered himself. But the head of the free agency did not want to let him off so easily. He has been detained in the Agency for three months and is interrogated again and again. He is not allowed to have visitors and will stay there until his trial takes place.

I honestly don't know what to think about that. On the one hand, I think it's good how hard the Agency higher-ups are acting and that he's now getting to feel for himself how it feels when no one stands by him. But on the other hand, I think he's surrendered and admitted his culprits. He has no intention of running away and facing his punishment. So he shouldn't be interrogated every day and kept in custody until the trial.

As for my mother, well, that's another thing. After two expert opinions were made about my mother's culpability, it was said that she should have been an actress instead of a prosecutor. It turned out that she had only faked her freak-out. Because if she is declared incapable of guilt because of a mental illness, she cannot be punished with the full force of the law.

Almost her plan was successful. But only almost. She was able to convince the first expert of her mental disorder. But the new prosecutor, who had just taken over her job, demanded a second expert opinion from another doctor and this one showed that she had only fooled everyone.

The second doctor had asked her several trick questions. He acted as if he had no idea about anything and she thought she could trick, confuse and manipulate him. But he pretended as said and then even exposed her properly. The court accepted the second expert opinion and declared the first expert opinion invalid.

It is not yet clear when the trial against my mother will begin. Such things take time. And by then she will be in prison and hopefully she will not be able to do any more harm.

I know that my brother visits her in prison every two weeks and even gives her money. They seem to get along very well, despite everything that happened. What more can I say about that? The two of them have always had a very close and distinct relationship.

By the way, last weekend Zhan and I had been to Switzerland. We met a real Don there. A mafia boss from Italy. He booked the Piz Gloria 360° Restaurant in Schilthorn especially for dinner. I couldn't believe that we were eating in the restaurant that is famous for being the location of the 1969 James Bond movie "On Her Majesty's Secret Service". There is even a James Bond breakfast. Burgers with the 007 brand on them. And even a 007 walk of fame.

Zhan explained to me that the Don knows that I am a special agent and only booked this restaurant because of that. And only to show me that he respects me if I respect him as well.

The rest of the weekend Zhan and I spent in a place in Switzerland where we went skiing and snowboarding. We stayed in a five star hotel. I like Switzerland, no, I love it. I really loved it there and hope Zhan and I can travel there soon with the kids and then we can spend more than two days there.

But until that happens, we have to wait until Chen Lu is on vacation again. Fortunately, she will stay with us from the coming school year and will not go back to London. She herself said she wants to go back to school in China now that she has a family there. When Zhan and I took her to the airport together with Yuan, she gave me a big hug goodbye and whispered in my ear, "I love you Dad. I'm going to miss you. See you soon." I really got goosebumps, so beautiful I found her words.

Since Yuan is only four years old and doesn't go to school or kindergarten yet, he keeps us all entertained here at home. He does get preschool lessons, but most of the time he runs and jumps around the house, making sure no one gets bored. And for fear he might hurt himself, I run after him all day. The result of this is always that we are both completely exhausted in the evening.

My brother always laughs at me when he sees how exhausted I always am in the evening. But he will look around, because already in one month he and Cheng will have a child as well. A 5 year old boy who was brought back here to his home country through the aid organization. However, since his parents did not want to or could not take him back, he is in the orphanage at the moment and will soon join my brother and Cheng.
