Chapter 2- A Friendly Visit

You wake up the next morning with a spring in your step.

"First day of my new job!" You exclaim.

Someone knocks on your door.

"Hello?" You open it.

A woman wearing a mail deliverer uniform is standing outside the door, holding a package.

"Are you (Y?N)?" She asks in a monotoned voice.

"Yeah." You reply.

"I have a package for you from a Matt (Y/LN)."

"Ugh. I mean, great! Thanks!"

"You're welcome."

She hands you the package and left. You close the door and use an Exacto knife to cut the tape. You open the box. Inside is a Toy Bonnie plushie and a note. The note reads 'Sorry for being such a jackass last night. I know Toy Bonbon is your favorite. I found him while cleaning out the attic last night. You're welcome.  -Matt'

"Thanks, Matt." You say out loud.

You hug the plushie and walk back to your room and toss it onto the bed. You change into a Freddy Fazbear's t-shirt and jeans.

"Huh, the shirt still fits. That's surprising." You say to no one in particular.

You turn around and face the Toy Bonnie plushie.

"Well? What do you think?" You ask him, striking a pose.

Toy Bonnie stares in silence.

"Thanks for the feedback." You tell him sarcastically, laughter bubbling up at your own childish behavior.

Out in the kitchen, your phone rings. You run out and pick it up. It's your best friend Cassie.

"Hey, Cassie!" You exclaim.

"Hey, (Y/N)! Your brother told me about your new job, and I'm comin' over to visit. I'm on my way now, actually." Cassie explains.

"Cassie, you shouldn't be on your phone while driving. It isn't safe."

"I'll be fine. It's not like I've been drinking. PICK A LANE, JACKASS! Heh heh, sorry 'bout that. People around here don't know how to drive, I swear."

"Cassie..."

"Okay, I'll hang up."

The line goes dead. You sigh and turn off your phone, setting it down. A few minutes later, there's a knock at the door.

"Hello, Cassie!" You say, opening the door.

"Hey, (Y/N)," Cassie squeals, hugging you, "So what's this I hear about a new job?"

"Well, it's at Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria, and I'm gonna be working the night shift. I'll be working from midnight till 6 AM, and the weekly pay is (the amount that you picked from before)."

"Not bad. I remember Freddy's. It was so much fun. Which animatronic was your favorite?"

"Toy Bonnie. What about you?"

"Toy Chica! Her pizza SLAYS. Why's Toy Bonnie your favorite?"

"Because he saved my life."

"What?!"

"Yeah! Some kids ran into him when he was carrying me on his shoulders and I fell and then he caught me."

"How'd he hold your weight?"

"I was 6."

"Oh. I knew that."

"Sure you did."

"Well, we should go get breakfast or something. There's a pancake house down the street, I think."

"Hells yeah!"

You and Cassie leave your apartment, and you lock your door behind you. You get into Cassie's car. It turns out she was right about the pancake house. You get a table right away.

"So," Cassie says, "have you met any cute guys yet? Other than your brother, I mean."

"Ewww! Matt is not cute!" You protest.

"You're his sister; you have to say that."

"Cassie, if you like him so much, why don't you just ask him out?"

"Because he's still in high school!"

"What do you see in him, anyway?"

"Other than his perfect hair, eyes and smile, he's funny, and he's always been nice to me."

"That's because every time you came over, I threatened to castrate him if he was mean to you."

"You threatened to castrate your own brother?!"

"Yes."

"So that's why he always looked nervous around me whenever I saw him at school."

"No, he looked nervous around you because he liked you. Well, I'm pretty sure he still likes you."

"What?! And you never told me?!"

"No."

"Why?!"

"You never asked. Also, he's my brother."

"Fair enough. But still! You knew I liked him!"

"Still."

"Ugh, whatever. Have you met any cute guys?"

"No. Then again, I haven't talked to any guys."

"Why?"

"Because they could be rapists."

"Wow. Judgy much?"

"I'm very judgy. It's my survival instinct."

"Oh, Jesus, (Y/N). Stop being so dramatic."

"I'm not being dramatic, I'm being honest. Big difference."

"Not with you."

"Okay, then."

A waiter arrives.

"Are you ready to order?" He asks.

"Yes," you say, "I'd like an order of (your favorite pancakes), please."

"And you?"

"I'll have an order of blueberry pancakes, please." Cassie decides.

"Is that all?"

"Could we get some more decaf coffee with the vanilla creamer?" Cassie asks.

"Of course."

The waiter walks away, and a few moments later, another one walks up with two cups of coffee and a few little creamer cups. You thank her as she walks away.

"Okay, Cassie, it's your turn to be interrogated." You say.

"Oh dear."

"How have you been?"

"Ooh, I feel so intimidated."

"Well?"

"I've been fine. I met a guy."

"Ooh, do tell!"

"Well, he works at the same place I do, the library, and I think he likes me."

"Pictures."

"Okay."

Cassie pulls her phone out of her pocket, and taps the screen a couple times. Then she hands the phone to you, a huge grin on her face. The photo shows a boy with light brown hair and stunning blue eyes sitting at a table, reading a book with a concentrated look on his face.

"Isn't he just the sexiest thing ever when he's focused?" Cassie sighs.

"Sure, Cass," You roll your eyes, "Whatever you think."

Your breakfast arrives. You and Cassie tear into your pancakes. After you both finish, Cassie insists on paying, and then you leave. Cassie walks you back to your apartment complex.

"Well, (Y/N), it was nice seeing you." Cassie says.

"It was nice seeing you too, Cassie." You agree.

"I'll see you later, eh?"

"Totally. I'll call you tonight after my first shift."

"You'd better! Bye!"

"Bye."

Cassie hugs you, and then walks to her car. You walk into the building and up the stairs to your room.
