AS BEN, MY TWIN BROTHER who likes to brag that he's older by 10 minutes and I were getting tailored for our regular fitting, we both look out our window wondering if what we chose as our first proclamation was a good choice. Well, at least that's what I was thinking about. I was so distracted by the thought of the Isle of the Lost kids and Auradon kids living together, I wasn't listening to my tailor, Penny as she kept telling me what to do, "Princess, you seem distracted. Would you just like to continue this another day?" Penny asks.
"I perhaps it's best we do. Thank you, Penny," I grant her wish as she walks away trying to clean up her mess.
I step off my stand and start walking towards the window. I only wonder what lifestyle they lived had on that island. My thoughts were interrupted when I hear my father, "How is it possible that you two are going to be crowned next month? You guys are just babies," father comments as both my parents walk in.
I turned around and gave them my full attention. I ran as quickly as heels could take me to my mother, giving her a quick kiss on the cheek because I haven't seen her all morning. I walk back to stand beside Ben, "They're turning 16, dear!" our mother exclaims in her soothing voice.
"Hey, pops," Ben calls out trying to get dad's attention.
"16? That's too young to be crowned King and Queen. I didn't make a good decision until I was at least 42," father ignores as he rambles on.
"Uh, you decided to marry mom at 28, didn't you?" I ask.
"Ah, kids. It was either your mother or a teapot," dad winks. Ben and I chuckle at my father's comment. He was a great King who ruled Auradon for many years and even though he could be a serious one in many situations, he always knew when to turn it off when at home with his family.
"Kidding," father chuckles awkwardly.
"Mom, dadโ" Ben starts but gets cut off by his tailor.
"Ah! Nu-nuh!" the tailor orders him not to move so I decided to tell mom and dad about our idea.
"We've chosen our first official proclamation. We've decided that the children on the Isle of the Lost be given a chance to live here in Auradon," I declare. My parents gave Ben and me the most frightening faces, mom even dropped Ben's coat. I could see them shaking rather slightly.
"Every time I look out to the island, I feel like they've been abandoned," Ben says stepping off of his stand as he starts walking towards mom and dad dragging me along with him. I only simply nod agreeing with every statement Ben said himself.
"The children of our sworn enemies living among us?" dad points out in frustration.
"We start out with a few at first, only the ones who need our help the most," Ben says.
"We've already chosen them," I add with a smile.
"Have you?" father asks curiously.
"I gave you a second chance," mom verifies.
"Who are their parents?" mother asks.
"Cruella De Vil... Jafar," I start naming them.
"Evil Queen..." Ben tries to finish but was scared of the results so I quickly grab his hand and squeeze it, signalling that we'll do it together.
"And Maleficent," we gulp. I hear squeaks coming from behind us as we spoke of the name.
"Maleficent! She is the worst villain in the land!" dad yells.
"Dad, just hear us out here," Ben tries to continue.
"I won't hear of it. They are guilty of unspeakable crimes," dad scowls.
"But, dad, their children are innocent!" I argue our side of the story to why we chose it.
"Don't you think they deserve a shot at a normal life?" Ben debate.
"Dad?" Ben tilts his head. Dad takes a moment to think about it, "I suppose their children are innocent."
"Well. Well done," mom congratulates us, giving me a kiss on the cheek and then up to Ben to fix up his coat.
She walks to my father, "Shall we?" my mother asks as they both walk out of the room. As they were leaving, my brother's presence went missing. I look over towards the window and saw him looking towards the island.
"Hey, we got them," I sigh giving my brother a quick hug before focusing my attention on the island. Well make them proud of our decision, I can just feel it.

I gathered into my room to change for the meeting of the Isle of the Lost children. My room was filled with beautiful shades of blue that represents our colours. Father always favoured the colour so did I but yellow was also another colour I grew to love, sadly no yellow decorated the interior of my simple room.
As I was deciding what to wear. I was doubting if we were actually making the right decision to bring the Isle of the Lost kids to live among us. I guess I got so distracted that I fell asleep on my bed.

I wake up to someone roughly shaking me, "Bea! Wake up! Bea," a familiar voice beams. I sit up in an instant knowing that the arrival of the children was soon and I'm not even dressed.
"Finally! You're awake, took you long enough!" Ben exclaims.
"Get out," I shoo him still half asleep.
"Come on, get ready Bea. I'll be waiting," Ben yells walking out the door and telling the person out the door to come in, must be my maid.
"Good afternoon," my maid, Helen greets, she was quite old but she took care of me and Ben when mom and dad were doing business.
"Good afternoon, how are you?" I ask.
"I'm well. Now let's get you dressed!" she smiles. She starts going through my closest with my help. My closet was mostly full of yellow and blue colours, which represent our families. Helen and I decided on a blue dress, it was nicely ironed and flared like a skater skirt on the bottom. It was paired with some nice black heels with some rose earrings. And something dear to my heart, the rose ring I wear every day that was given to me by my mother when I was young. My hair flowed down my shoulders and I felt ready to introduce myself to the Isle of the Lost kids.
Last-minute touches were being made by the Fairy Godmother as Ben, Audrey and I stood behind the marching band getting ready. Audrey and I were distant friends but sometimes she was quite mean and full of herself so I don't know why my brother is dating her. I only became my friend for my brother's sake.
We were waiting, I suddenly hear cheers from afar meaning that the kids have arrived. The cheers kept getting louder and closer. The car comes to a stop. I couldn't really tell what was going on as we were behind the marching band. Fairy Godmother makes her way through the band and we all see what was going on. The Isle of the Lost kids already causing trouble.
We approach them. I was on the right of Ben as Audrey was on the left. We both hook our arms to Ben and follow Fairy Godmother towards the Isle of the Lost kids. The kids were muttering to each other before Fairy Godmother greets them, "Leave it like you found it!" Fairy Godmother beams.
"And by that, I mean just leave it," Fairy Godmother states. The bell starts chiming. One of the Isle of the Lost boys approaches Audrey.
"Hello, foxy" he smirks, I'm guessing he was Jafar's son coming from all that leather.
"The name's Jay," he says coming to a stop in front of Audrey. Audrey just laughs then sighs.
"Welcome to Auradon Prep. I'm Fairy Godmother, headmistress," Fairy Godmother bows down.
"The Fairy Godmother?" the purple-haired girl asks, I'm guessing she was Maleficent's daughter.
"As in, 'Biddidi-bobbidi-boo'?" she asks waving her hand as if she had a wand in it, "Bibbidi-bobbidi. You know it."
"Yeah, I always wondered what it felt like for Cinderella when you just appeared, out of nowhere, with that sparkly wand and warm smile. And that sparkling wand," Maleficent's daughter repeats the sparkling wand part again, I wonder what she wants from it. "That was a long time ago. And as I always say, 'Don't focus on the past or you'll miss the future'."
Ben finally walks up to them, "It's so good to finally meet you all. I'm Ben and this is my sister Beatrice," Ben introduces us, I give them a warming smile as I walk up to stand beside Ben.
"Prince Benjamin and Princess Beatrice, soon to be King and Queen," Audrey squeals. Though my relationship with Audrey was something else, I pat her on the back awkwardly.
"You had me at Prince. My mom's a Queen, which makes me a Princess," Evil Queen's daughter bows down.
"The Evil Queen has no royal status here and neither do you," Audrey spats.
"Evil or not, I believe everyone can have whatever status they want in Auradon," I smile at her nudging Audrey for being rude, Ben awkwardly laughs.
"This is Audrey," he introduces.
"Princess Audrey. His girlfriend. Her best friend. Right, Bennyboo?" Audrey points out interrupting my brother. She grabs a hold of my brother trying to act like the happiest couple in Auradon.
"Ben, Beatrice, and Audrey are going to show you all around, and I'll see you tomorrow. The doors of wisdom are never shut," Fairy Godmother says breaking up the awkward hand-holding between Ben and Audrey.
"But the library hours are from 8:00 to 11:00," I comment.
"Oh, just like your mother, Beatrice," Fairy Godmother chuckles before continuing.
"And as you may have heard, I have a little thing about curfews," Fairy Godmother finishes then walks away as did the marching band.
Ben and I stand there smiling with Audrey on the side while the Isle of the Lost kids just stare blankly at us, "It is so, so, so good to finally meโ" Ben starts but gets punched in the chest by Jay, "Meet you all."
I approach Jay when I presented my hand for a handshake, he lifts it and softly pecks it. Then I move onto the Maleficent's daughter, Mal from what I can remember when we were picking them out, "This is a momentous occasion," Ben says out loud as he greets Cruella De Vil's son, Carlos.
"And one that I hope will go down in history. Is that chocolate?" Ben asks nervously moving onto the next person.
I hand Carlos a handkerchief to wipe off the mess on his mouth and then smile. "As the day our two peoples began to heal," Ben finishes his little speech as I finish off my greeting with the Evil Queen's daughter, Evie.
"Or the day that you showed four peoples where the bathrooms are," Mal chuckles. Audrey pulls Ben away from Mal cause they were holding on for a little longer than Audrey would like.
"A little bit over the top?" he chuckles towards Mal.
"A little more than a little bit," Mal laughs.
"Well, so much for first impressions." Both Mal and Ben laugh staring at each other.
"Hey! You're Maleficent's daughter, aren't you?" Audrey cuts in.
"Yeah, you know what? I totally do not blame you for your mother trying to kill my parents and stuff. Oh, my mom's Aurora. Sleepingโ" Audrey adds.
"Beauty! Yeah, I've heard the name. You know, and I totally do not blame your grandparents for inviting everyone in the whole world but my mother to their stupid christening," Mal finishes.
"Water under the bridge," Audrey fakes a smile.
"Totes!" they both faked a laugh and ends with a sigh at the same time.
"Creepy!" I mumble to myself.
"Okay! So, how about a tour?" Ben claps his hand together as he tries to get out of the awkward conversation.
"Yeah? Auradon Prep, originally built over 300 years ago and converted into a high school by my father when he became king," Ben says starting the tour.

As I am re-editing it again (July 10, 2019) for like the millionth time, sorry. At first there was a lot of controversies when it came to Beatrice's age so I decided on 16, hopefully, that is okay. So now Ben and Beatrice are twins. Thank you for taking this book into consideration. Much love!
