-12- Questions
Quincy led us inside, and he looked at me confused.
"Oh Quincy this is The Doctor."
The Doctor kissed Quincy on the cheeks and I looked away embarrassed.
"What kind of snacks do you have?"
"...Uh-"
"Any fish sticks and custard?"
I snickered.
"Yes Quincy he's always like this."
He smiles and tries to fix his chestnut hair.
"You ready?"
I smile and nod. I walk into the living room and see my best buds; Francie and Rue.
"FRANCIE, RUE!"
They squealed and pulled me onto the couch.
"Francie told me about that boy you were talking about, where is he?"
I looked into the kitchen and the Doctor was looking in the fridge.
"Doctor quit raiding the fridge dinner is almost done!"
The Doctor looked over and blushed, rubbing the back off his neck. The girls pulled me back down, and squealed again.
"He's a cutie! I'm surprised you guys aren't dating!"
I blushed.
"Yeah... Hey Francie do you need help in the kitchen?"
She smiled.
"Well you are a better cook than me, I'm just glad I didn't burn the turkey...yet."
Francie, Rue, and I walked into the kitchen. Rue sat on one of the barstools, while Francie and I attended the food.
"If you don't want him I'll take him off your hands."
Rue said jokingly.
"Rue I don't think he's seeing anyone currently."
She makes a pfft sound.
"I'm just joking, man it's hot in this kitchen."
I smirked.
"It's probably because I walked in."
Francie punched me in the shoulder.
"Come on Kathryn, you used that joke since middle school."
I looked over at the Doctor and he was shinning his sonic screwdriver onto many different things in the house.
"Doctor quit snooping around, and join the conversation!"
He jolts up and salutes.
"Yes Ma'am!"
Francie laughed and nudged my arm, whispering in my ear.
"You never said he was a brit."
I froze up.
"Is that a good thing?"
Rue smiled.
"Brits are cute!"
I stuck out my tongue at Rue as The Doctor sat down next to her on a barstool.
"So Doctor what do you do for a living?"
"I play soccer, and I'm pretty great to say so myself."
I mentally facepalmed.
"Oh really, if it wasn't so cold outside Quincy would challenge you."
I smiled, and opened the oven grabbing the turkey.
"Hey Francie what do you think of ol Quincy these days?"
Francie blushed.
"Well, I love him."
I cooed as I set the turkey on the table, and wiped a bead of sweat off my face.
"Hey Doctor, does the turkey look good?"
The Doctor smiled.
"It looks perfect!"
I shook my head.
"I'm surprised, he's always so picky about things."
Rue started laughing.
"Are we going to do that Christmas sing-a-long?"
Francie nodded, and an evil grin spread across her face.
"Of course Kathryn is going to sing better than all of us, she was the best in the high school choir."
I blushed.
"Oh Francie stop it, you were pretty good!"
Rue laughed.
"I was the worst!"
The Doctor smiled, and everyone else started laughing.
Quincy walked in and faked a limp.
Commence operation
"Quincy are you okay?"
He falls to the floor and Francie rushes to his aid, and she starts to cry.
"Quincy! What's wrong?"
He winces.
"I need to ask you something before I can't say anything else..."
Francie with tears spilling down her face says.
"Yes what is it?"
He smiles, pulls out a box, and sits up.
"Will you marry me?"
She starts bawling.
"I hate you!"
Then she kisses him.
"Of course I will."
I watch Quincy slides the ring on her slender finger. The Doctor pulls me to him and wipes away the few tears that escaped.
"Don't cry my dear."
I smile and kissed his cheek, his has flushing bright red.
"Actually Kathryn, I have something to tell you, and I was going to ask tomorrow, but I can't wait anymore."
I looked up him, millions of questions swirling around inside my head. He grabbed my hand and slid his other hand in his jacket pocket taking out a beautiful silver star necklace with a crescent moon in the middle.
"Will...Will you be my girlfriend?"
Millions of emotions burst inside and I wrapped my arms around his neck.
"Why would I say no!"
A bright smile stretched across his face, and he kissed me. Everyone else clapping in the background.
"Is that why you were quiet today?"
I asked separating from him.
He smiles.
"I just needed to think how to do it."
I smiled as the oven went 'ding'."
"Oh the turkey is ready, Francie can you come help me in the kitchen?"
She nodded as we got out all the food, and everyone sat at the dining table and we ate. Sometimes we would laugh or listen in suspense as stories were told.
"Okay time for the Christmas Karaoke!"
Rue says a huge grin spreading across her face.
