You Really Got A Hold On Me
June:
Jessica and Sam's wedding anniversary was right around the corner. Sam wanted to make this year extra special. Before, they had plans of having a vowel renewal or another type of ceremony as a family with Logan. Their wedding was fast and easy and Sam knew that Jessica may have wanted something more. Now that Sean was gone, they couldn't have a "remake", so they held off on that plan for another year.
With their anniversary only being in five days, Logan's Gotcha day was seven days away. It would be two whole years with him in their family.
Jessica and Sam still believe that the best decision they ever made was adopting Logan, no matter how hard it was.
Jessica and Olivia were out and about while Sam and Logan stayed home and worked at the farm. Jessica wanted to get a head start on some college shopping and find a anniversary gift for Sam.
"So what are you going to pick out for Sam? I watch? A shirt?" Olivia asks as they walk through the mall
"Oh god, I don't know. He's so hard to shop for. Do you know what he got me?" Jessica asks quietly
"Yes, but do you think you're going to get it out of me?" Olivia laughs
"I guess not.... I want my gift to be special, meaningful, and not a shirt that he'll get dirty and ruin." Jessica huffs
"I think anniversary gifts are overrated. Just have some chocolate strawberries and call it a day." Olivia smiles
"You're no help to me right now." Jessica says lightly tapping her on the shoulder.

Later that night when they get home, they had a stack of letters in the mail from Sean all the way in Germany.
They got letters every other week. Everyone had their own.
"Olivia, here is yours, Logan this one is yours, and Sam here ya go!" Jessica smiles
"Look, he sent pictures, mom!" Logan says opening up his envelope. Logan had taken all kinds of pictures from different places in Germany.
Sam and Jessica got pictures of the apartment, and Olivia got pictures that related to things she enjoyed.
"He sure is having a blast out there." Sam smiles
Jessica holds the picture of him to her heart and sighs. "I miss him."
"I miss him too, but remember, December." Sam smiles and pats her back.
"December, mommy. Don't worry! It will
Come very fast. Like my gotcha day!" He smiles innocently
"That's right little fella!" Sam says picking Logan up and tickling him endlessly.
"Daddy!" He yells
"What do you want to do on your gotcha day?" Jessica smiles
"I want to go..... fishing!"
"Fishing? Yuck." Olivia makes a funny face
"It's fun! I want us all to go!" He smiles happily

June 5th, Sam and Jessica's two year wedding anniversary:
It was about seven, Jessica had fed Olivia and Logan and was getting ready to leave for the night with Sam. They were going into the city an hour away and staying the night. Sam planned out the whole night.
Olivia would babysit Logan while they were gone. She wanted to give Sam and her mom the best anniversary since they really deserved a good day together after all they had been through this year.
They started off the day with breakfast in bed made by the kids, a horse back ride with them as well, lunch at Jessica and Sam's favorite restaurant and now they are getting ready to head out for the night.
"Mom, you look great! Sam is gonna go crazy." Olivia says as she zips her moms dress
"Aww, you really think?" Jessica says looking at herself in the mirror
"Umm, yes! I hope I look like you when I'm forty and old." She laughs jokingly
"Geez, thanks!" Jessica smiles
"No seriously mom, you look good. Now where is his gift?" Olivia says looking around the room
"Oh! In my shoe box above my clothes in the closet, don't let me forget it." Jessica says nervously
"It's like you're going on your first date."
"Can you believe it was that long ago that I started seeing him?" Jessica smiles
"I do, mom." She says

"Daddy, your princess is ready." Logan says standing at the bottom of the stairs.
Sam had on a suit and tie and anxiously waited for his beautiful wife.
Jessica walked down the stairs blushing. Her kids were going way over board but it was cute.
"Gawd damn Mrs. Shepard. Can I take you out tonight?" He says taking her hand and spinning her around.
"Of course." She smiles

They had an hour drive into the city. When they arrived they settled in to the hotel, left all of their bags, and headed to dinner.
Sam picked this old school restaurant. It was around when he was a kid. His parents took him and his sisters here every year for his parents Anniversary. Since the kids didn't want to join, he was excited to spend this night with Jessica.
When they walked into the vintage Restaurant one of Jessica's favorite songs "This Magic Moment" started playing.
It was beyond romantic and brought Jessica's mind back to more simple days. The way the restaurant was laid out so uniquely caught Jessica's eyes.
When they reach their reversed table, Sam pulls out a seat for Jessica and they sit down.
As they sat together they saw from a distance couples dancing together. It was beyond romantic.
"Sam, this place is beautiful." Jessica smiles
"I used to come here as a kid with my parents." He says taking her hand
"I can't wait to dance with you later." Jessica smirks
"We can do a lot of dancing tonight." He jokes
"Okay, that's fine with me."
"Really? It's hot in here all of a sudden."
"Can I give you your gift before it gets too hot?" She giggles
"We can swap at the same time." He says pulling out his gift.
"Exchange!" She says as they hand each other their gifts at the same time.
They slowly open them together. Never did they think that they would give each other the same gift.
"Sam... you didn't." She cries as she gets locket with an engraving of Iyla's finger print. Jessica starts to tear up and looks at Sam who was also tearing up with he had the same engraving but in a bracket form.
"We got each other the same gifts..." Jessica tears up
"We did." He chuckles
"I can't believe Olivia didn't tell me."
"Me neither!" Sam laughs
Then, they look at their gifts again. Jessica leans in over the table and kisses sam.
"Thank you, baby. This means a lot." Sam cries
"This does too, honey. It's beautiful... I miss her everyday."
"I do too. Now we have a part of her with us."

As the song "You've really got a hold on me" plays, Sam and Jessica sway back and forth on the ballroom floor and hold each other.
The night went just as perfect as they had imagined, maybe even better.
Jessica's favorite thing to do with Sam was dance with him. She felt closest to him in his arms.
"Happy Anniversary, baby." He says in her ear
"Happy anniversary my love."
