Later that day-

Since this all happened at night, they had to go through all the meetings with doctors and interviews during the middle of the night. It was day time now, no one got any rest. Danny and Jessica spent their time with Olivia and didn't leave her side. Sam didn't want to interfere so he stayed with Sean in the waiting room. Thankfully, Sean got some rest, but Sam didn't.

He kept thinking of all the worse possible outcomes when Olivia wakes up... if she even wakes up. He was scared to death that she'd pass and never come out of this coma. He didn't know what he'd do with himself if they lost Olivia.

It was around lunch time.... that's when the day started for everyone. Nurses and doctors came in and out of the Olivia's room checking her vitals. Nothing changed. The doctor said there was brain activity, but she was still unresponsive.  All they could do was pray.

In the room, there was lots of crying.... Jessica wished Sam was with her but it would be ten times more awkward in the room and Sam was afraid to leave Sean anyways.

Danny and Jessica didn't speak to each other. Only Olivia. The only thing you could hear in the room were the monitors, hallway chatters, and constant beeps. Jessica wasn't going insane. She just wanted to snap her daughter out of this mess.

While Sean and Sam were in the waiting room, he got a call from Dorthy.

"Hey D, how's Logan?"

"A wreck! He didn't sleep at all last night. He's so scared and confused. He misses everyone and just wants to be with you. He's being quite the handful. But god Sam, I'm so scared.... we all are. Sean updated us and we just can't wrap our heads around any of this! Can we come visit? Is she up yet."

"I'm sorry about Logan.... his attachment issues and anxiety don't mix well with all of this. But we appreciate you looking after our little boy. Tell him everything is okay and we will see him soon." Sam sighs. It broke his heart that little Logan had to witness what he did. Jessica screaming and crying, the whole family screaming and crying for that matter, paramedics, Olivia seizing. It was a terrible night.

"Are we able to stop by?" She asks again

Sam sighs "I'm sorry, no... the doctors are being very particular. It's best to wait. I'm sorry, I know how much you want to see her."

"I understand. She's in our prayers."

"Thank you... tell Logan we love him."

"Of course, Sam. He knows you do."

Later in the day, the doctors allowed Sean to go see his sister. She was still hooked up to all the tubes and still no awake.

Sam went in with Sean... since it was only right in sam's eyes that Sean deserved to see Olivia first.

It was really overwhelming for Sean when he saw his little sister unconscious. It gave him flashbacks of when Jessica was shot.... how they never knew if she'd wake up or make it through.

Overdoses can do a lot to someone, especially someone so small and young like Olivia. She could have serious brain damage, she could be paralyzed, or never speak again.

"So nothing?" Sean asks as he sits next to her

"Nothing yet, sweetie. We are hoping tonight." Jessica cries as Sam holds her

"We just need to all stay positive." Danny says softly

"Will she even want to see you when she wakes up?" Sean snaps at Danny

The tension rose very quickly in the room. Danny sighed and Jessica's huffed.

"Sean, not now." Jessica whispers harshly

"I'm just saying. He hasn't reached out to her in months... I don't think after trying to kill her self she would not want the man that drove her to do this around."

"Come on, Sean. This isn't fair to your father." Sam says

Then, Danny looks at Sam with a long scary glare.

"You're the one that pushed me away." Danny says harshly to Sam

Jessica widens her eyes then scowls at Danny. "Danny! That's not true. You obviously don't forget that you're the reason our family is broken." Jessica snaps

"Actually, Jessica, your super hero of a husband came to my house and told me to never speak to any of you again." Danny says, not taking his eyes off Sam.

Sean and Sam knew exactly where this was going.

"I never said that. I said to stay away from Jessica and I." Sam snaps

"What? Sam! You went to see him? When was this?" Jessica says turning to Sam

"Dad, stop it!" Sean says

Sam's heart begins to race. What Danny was about to say wasn't going to go over well. Jessica was confused, Sean was frustrated, Danny was nervous and Sam was nervous. The tension in the room was not at all settling.

"No, Sean....

Jessica, didn't you know? I was the one who beat Sam in the supermarket parking lot. He was too much of a pussy to turn me in. Maybe because he didn't want you to know that he lost a fight to your ex." Danny says in a snarky tone

Jessica was so shocked and hurt.... Sam lied so many times and said he never knew who hurt him that one night. For weeks it killed her. Now Jessica knew and it made her furious. She was furious was Danny for beating Sam so badly, and furious with Sam for lying and never turning him in. Sam had a heart of gold, asking him to throw someone in jail isn't his cup of tea and Jessica knew that.

"I didn't turn you in because of your children. I didn't want their father in jail because of their step dad.... and Jess, I didn't tell you because..." Sam couldn't find an excuse for not telling Jessica. He went blank

Jessica holds up her hands and shakes her head. "No, we aren't pulling this bullshit right now. I frankly don't care. All I care about is Olivia. So if we are going to continue this, I want you all to leave!" Jessica hisses

"I'm sorry-"

"No, Danny, you're not sorry!" Jessica yells

"I'm just scared."

"You are jealous. Jealous that Sam is a better father to your children then you could ever be. You know, I need my space. The both of you, please, just leave Sean and I alone." Jessica sighs

Sam didn't argue with Jessica. He knew he had already made her so upset and torn. Sam Put his head down and left the room. Then, Danny followed. When the door closed, Sam lost his composure and flipped on Danny.

"What the hell was that for? Huh? Where you trying to look all big and strong? Because you just proved Jessica right with all of her thoughts on you. Fuck you for doing that! Especially when your daughter is holding onto her life!" Sam shouts

Sam had never been so angry. He hated Danny. It took a lot for him to hate, but Danny was pretty high up there. All he wanted was for Jessica to be protected. When Sam told Danny to stay away, he must have taken it the wrong way.

"It's hard.... watching you with my family. You're doing everything that I didn't.... you're beating all the requirements of being the worlds best husband. You have the perfect life, the life I lost. It kills me. I'm angry. Angry that you have what I don't!"

"That's not my problem. You had your chance. You should be happy that Jessica is happy again. You broke her, Danny. It took be a while to pull her out of the hole you shoved her into. She couldn't trust, she was afraid to love, and felt unloved. Your kids too. I don't think you understand how much they want their father, but you don't step up. I love those kids. I love Jessica. Just be happy that they are at least getting some good in their life." Sam huffs then walks away, leaving Danny all alone.

"Mom... I'm sorry that all went down." Sean says as he watches his mother from across the bed, sobbing.

"I don't want to talk about it.... now isn't the time." Jessica says clearing her throat

"Ma, you know this wasn't your fault." Sean says sincerely

"I don't know if it was or not, Sean. No one wrote a book preparing you for any of this. I just wish this wasn't my baby girl laying in this bed." Jessica cries

Sean's heart broke for his mom. After Danny leaving, she had never seen her so heartbroken in his life. It was like not only was his sister taken, but his mom too.

"I remember when we were younger and Olivia was so small...." Sean says trying to reminisce

"She was always a tiny girl." Jessica says holding her hand

"She liked playing rough too... you and dad always told me to be careful and I was, but she always got hurt." Sean chokes up

"You were babies..." Jessica whispers

"I never meant to hurt her when we played. I always tried to protect her from getting hurt..." then, Sean covered her face and cried.

Jessica rushed over to the other side of the bed and wrapped her arms around Sean's body.

"It's okay.... you've always been the best brother."

"Why could I never protect her?" He yells

That night-

No one bothered Jessica or Sean after Danny and sam's blow out. It had been getting late and Jessica was really struggling to fall asleep, but she couldn't sleep without Sam. Sean had fallen asleep next to Olivia in one of the reclining chairs. That gave Jessica some time to sneak away for a moment. It was her first time leaving the room.

She walked around until she found Sam down the hall, resting on a small couch.

Jessica slowly sat next to him and put her head on his chest. It woke him up immediately but he didn't make any sudden movements. He just wrapped his arms around Jessica who was wide awake.

"Have you eaten?"

"I can't..." She whispers

Then, Jessica sits up and looks into sam's watery eyes.

"I'm sorry for lying about that night. I never wanted to Danny to know because I didn't want to cause problems."

Jessica puts her finger on sam's lips and sighs. "I know... you have a heart of gold, baby."

"Logan just called. He misses us. I told Dorthy she could bring him for a bit tomorrow."

"Of course. I miss my little boy. Where did Danny go?"

"I have no clue. It's best that we have our distance."

Jessica nods then falls back into Sam's arms.

"Things will be okay.... just close your eyes and things will be okay." Sam whispers as he strokes Jessica's hair.

Finally, Jessica closes her eyes and relaxes, but not for long.

"Mom! Mom! Mom!" They hear from down the hall

Jessica and Sam both sit up and look to see Sean running frantically.

"Sean? What's wrong?" Jessica says running to him

"She moved! She moved! Her eyes, her fingers! She's awake! Mom she's awake!"

And in the blink of an eye, things were slowly going to get better.
