Another Graduation
May:
Today was Olivia's High School Graduation. She finally made it to the end of her long four years. She started out high school with her parents getting a divorce, going through a toxic relationship, having a miscarriage all on her own, and ended it with her brother being sent off back into the army.
She had a lot of challenges, mentally and physically. She had made it with a 4.0 and a lot of hard work under her belt.
Everything recently made Jessica feel so emotional. With Sean leaving and now Olivia getting ready to graduate and go off to college.
It was a big day and Olivia could not wait to get her diploma.
"It's the big DAY!" Jessica says as Olivia walks down the stairs just after getting up. Jessica made cupcakes late last night and put sparklers in them for when she woke up.
"Oh wow! Fire!" Olivia chuckles
"Happy graduation day, honey." Jessica smileA
"Mom, don't cry... you'll still have me all summer!" Olivia says
"I know, I know. I remember when I had you and they said, just wait until the grow up! I want to wait longer, I'm not ready for my baby girl to GRADUATE!" Jessica tears up
"Come on, honey. You promised no tears until she gets the diploma." Sam chuckles
"That's right! And I have a surprise for you..."
Jessica smiles
"What?" She asks
"Sean made a special request to-"
"HES COMING HOME?" Olivia dances
Jessica sighs. "No, but he is going to be able to watch you graduate through that thing called...ummm, Sam, what is it?" She looks to Sam
"FaceTime, sweetheart. The app that you've had on your phone for years." He chuckles
"Oh right, FaceTime! And you can talk to him after!" She gleams
"Wow, awesome! We haven't been able to talk to him since he left."
"I know, isn't it great! I know you're sad that he can't be there, but he will, in a way." Jessica exclaims
"Great! Well, I have my hair appointment at ten so I should go get dressed."
"Don't you want a cupcake?" Logan asks
"Sure, I'll take a cupcake!" She smiles

It was around four and Jessica started to get ready for the ceremony at six.
She was curling her hair, doing her makeup, and dressing for the occasion.
It had been a while since she got this dressed up and it felt almost therapeutic for her. She felt beautiful for the first time in a while.
"Jessica Phyllis Lange- Shepard, if you aren't the most beautiful woman, I don't know who is. Like damn, woman!" Sam says walking into the bathroom
"I feel pretty today." She smiles
"Well, you're pretty everyday. I wish you could see yourself through my eyes." He comes up behind her and gives her the biggest kiss. He cups her breast and rests his head on her chin.
"You know how badly I want too." She whispers
Sam and Jessica were distant when it came to things in the bedroom since the baby. She still had some pain from the surgery and sex just wasn't really on her mind. Sam respected that, but a part of him missed Jessica's touch.
"I'm sorry..." he says pulling away
She turns to him with sad eyes. "It's not you at all. I just need more time to feel like myself again." She whispers
He nods his head and gives her a kiss. "I understand, darling, you don't have to explain." He says softly
"I'll meet you guys all downstairs when I'm done."
"Okay." He sighs, leaving the room.
Sam and Jessica's relationship was great. They were madly in love and fell more in love with each other each day. Jessica was still in her funk and Sam respected that. He their romantic nights together and just feeling closer to her physically.

"I got this for you, Olivia. When all of my grandkids graduate, I always give them a little piece of jewelry." Dorthy says, pulling a box out of her purse.
"Grandma." Olivia says
"Go on, open it."
Olivia slowly opened it and saw a gold tennis bracket that matched her mothers from when she graduated.
"Grandma, it's beautiful... thank you." She smiles as Dorthy clips it on her wrist.
"We are so proud of you, Olivia." Albert smiles
"Very proud." Sam says
"Okay, you're all going to make me cry, let's go!" Jessica says getting in the car.

When they arrived at the school Jessica and the family all walked onto the football field and into the stands to wait for Olivia. They all anxiously waited for the graduates to walk out.
This was a big day for not only Olivia but Jessica too. Luckily she had a few more years to prepare herself for Logan's graduation. She couldn't even think that far ahead.
Then, right as all of the students walk out, Sean calls. Everyone hovers over Jessica to see him.
"Hi honey!"
"Hey mom, did I miss it?"
"Nope, she's coming out now!... Sam, how do I flip the camera?" Jessica giggles
Sam take over the FaceTime and everyone gets their talks in.
The ceremony begins and all of the students walk out onto the football field.
"There's Livy!" Logan yells
Jessica smiles proudly "there she is! Our girl!"

When everyone is seated the faculty and staff give their speeches along with the top five students in the class.
They start to call names and Jessica anxiously waits. Everyone was holding hands as Olivia's name was coming up next.
"Olivia Lynn Huston, 4.0 Honors student."
When they announce her name everyone in the family stands up and cheers for her.
"Wooo Livy!" Danny yells
"That's our girl!" Sam shouts
"She did it, she did it!" Jessica turns to Danny and gives him a big hug, then turns to Sam with wide teary eyes and he catches her into his arms.
"I'm crying now. I can't hold it in any longer."
"Mom, Liv did it!" Sean says on the phone

Everyone came over to the farm after graduation to celebrate. It was just Jessica and her family, no Danny which was a bit of a relief because Jessica could only handle so much of him.
"I'm really glad Sean was able to see my graduate." Olivia smiles
"Wasn't that so special?" Jessica gleams
"We are all very proud of you, Olivia. Now next month you'll be eighteen!" Dorthy giggles
"Don't even go there mom." Jessica rolls her eyes
Then, they all see a car driving up the driveway.
"Who's that?" Jessica asks
"Oh mom, I forgot to ask, can I go to Kimmy's for a grad party?" She says getting up
How could Jessica say no? Today was Olivia's day and she wanted to have fun. Jessica surely agreed to let her run off and spend the rest of the night with her friends.
"Okay. Just be safe and let me know when you'll be home!" Jessica smiles and waves as she leaves
