"I can't believe I'll have all my babies in one room tonight!" Jessica frantically packs her bags for Florida. They were leaving for the airport in less than an hour.

Sean already landed in Florida and was waiting for Jessica, Sam, and Olivia to arrive.

All of Jessica's family knew that they'd be away this year for Thanksgiving. As sad as they were that they all wouldn't be there and not get to see Sean, they were happy that they were taking a family trip. It was well deserved.

"By the sound of it, you seem excited." Sam chuckles as he zips up his bag.

Jessica nods and smiles cutely. She walks over to Sam and throws herself onto him.

"I'm excited to cuddle up in a hammock, take long walks on the beach, and soak up the sun all with you by my side." She whispers seductively

Sam blushes and presses his body against Jessica's. They sway back and forth in each other's arms.

"This is going to be the best vacation." He says

"Mhm... and we will have a room... all to ourselves." She says

"I like that." He leans down and kisses her lips. Then, they hear a car beep it's horn.

"Mom! The Uber is here!" Olivia yells from downstairs

"Time to go!" Jessica says grabbing her bag

Sam laughs as Jessica runs out of the room.

A few hours later-

When their plane lands they get their luggage and wait for the car rental information to process.

"It's so warm.... I love it!" Olivia smiles

"I haven't felt this kind of heat on my skin in a long time. Sam, when the kids all leave the nest, we are retiring and moving somewhere warm."

Sam wraps his arm around Jessica and kisses her head. "Of course."

Everyone was so happy to be out of town. It felt nice to leave Minnesota and get away. Sam, he was so anxious for this trip. He had a lot planned and some things up his sleeve. It was their first vacation all together. He wanted it to be perfect.

"I can't wait to see Sean! He's waiting for us at the hotel. Luckily they let him check in early." Jessica says as she texts him

"Can we go to the beach tonight?" Olivia asks

Sam nods "Yeah, we will be spending plenty of time there. But we should go after dinner."

"Okay! I can't believe we are in Florida!" She jumps

"Sean!" Jessica says swinging open the hotel room door.

Sean jumps up and greets his family.

Jessica was so happy to see him. Three months was too long.

"Hey mom" He says giving her a hug.

"Look at you! You look so good and healthy! What a relief!" Jessica smiles as she fixes his hair.

"Ha, thanks mom."

"Hey kid!" Sam says giving him a hug

"Hey! Wow, it's great to see you all." He chuckles

"Oh look who it is." Olivia says

"Except you." He says In a joking tone.

Olivia playfully hits him then he wraps his arms around her.

"This hotel is so nice!" Jessica says walking around

"Babe, our room is next door."

"Oh yeah, they gave me two keys. You guys aren't staying with us?"

Jessica turns to Sam and grins then back at the kids.

"We got two rooms. Just so you guys could have your own beds."

"That's code for they want to be alone and do it." Olivia says

"Hey! That's enough. Don't talk like that." Jessica says sternly

The kids laugh.

Sam takes Jessica's hand so they could head to their room.

"We have dinner reservations in an hour. How about we all go and get ready."

"Okay!" Olivia says pulling out her clothes.

Sam and Jessica walk to the door and open it. "We'll be next door. See you in an hour!" Jessica says as they run into their room.

Sam opens their room door and Jessica throws her things onto the ground.

"I've been waiting for this moment all day." She says pinning Sam to the door and passionately kissing him.

Sam hums softly and smiles. "What's gotten into you?" Sam says as she rips off his shirt.

She puts her hands on his chest and smiles. "I just want to start vacation off right... I love you."

He chuckles as she runs her hands down to his pants. "I love you too."

"Why, did you want me to stop?" She bites her lip.

Sam pauses for a moment then picks up Jessica. She wraps her arms around his body and laughs.

"Are you crazy? Why would I ever want you to stop?"

After settling in and getting ready, they all walked downstairs to have dinner. The sun was setting. They had a perfect view of the ocean from their table.

"I can't get over how beautiful it is." Jessica says as she snaps a picture

"Thanks again for planning this." Sean says

"Of course... I'm excited. I thought we all deserved a little vacation."

"Can we make this a tradition?" Olivia asks

Jessica and Sam turn to each other and nod "I don't see why not."

"Yes!" Olivia says

Jessica reaches across tHe table and takes both Olivia and Sean's hands. "I can't believe I have both of my babies together!" She squeals

"Mom!" They both whine

"What!"

"Your mother missed you two together." Sam says

"Yeah... now, we are all together as a family!"

The kids both smile

"This is going to be a fun vacation. I already know it."

That night they all took a walk on the beach. By time they were done it was dark out. Sean and Olivia were both exhausted from the traveling and wanted to head to sleep so they can be energized for the morning. Jessica and Sam still had some energy left in them. After they said goodnight to the kids they decided to sneak away to have a few drinks.

They sat at the bar enjoying their cocktails.

Sam stared at Jessica as she looked at the beautiful scenery surrounding them.

"You're so beautiful." He says

Jessica turns to him and blushes. "And you're so handsome." She says caressing his cheek.

"I can't get over how happy I am to spend these next few days with you and the kids."

She gives him a soft smile then sighs.

"Hey, why did you get so discouraged all of a sudden?" He says taking her hand

She shrugs her shoulders then checks the date.

"Well, tomorrow will be a year since... you know..." she says referring to the shooting.

It hadn't even crossed his mind until now.

"I'm sorry..."

"It's crazy to think how much that changed me. I lost my best friend and I almost lost my life. I'm lucky to be here now. I guess it's just a little emotional thinking about." A small tear falls from Jessica's eyes. Jessica was truly grateful to be alive. She almost died. It was a scary time for everyone.

"We are lucky to have you here with us Jessica. I know it's sad thinking about it and Neil. But tomorrow you should celebrate life and enjoy yourself." He leans in and kisses her cheek. Then he wipes her tears.

"I'm glad god let me stay with you." She giggles
