A Face to The Name

March 20th-

"I hate being so bored when the kids are at Danny's... I have nothing to do with myself." Jessica puts her head on the table and sighs.

Sarah sits across from her with a cup of coffee and chuckles.

"What should I do? Join a book club or something? God! Sometimes I'd wish for a break but now that they are gone I want them back." Jessica says anxiously

"Maybe when they go to college I'll drop the little ones off." Sarah shakes her head and smiles.

"I'll be a wreck."

"You'll be fine. By then you'll have a boyfriend and you'll love it."

"Boyfriend? Heh! Please. No man wants this old gross body." Jessica bluffs

"Oh shut up! I have a cure for you Ms. Lange!" Sarah grabs Jessica's phone.

"Hey, give that back." Jessica says reaching for it.

Sarah moves away from Jessica and puts her back to her. After a few minutes Sarah hands her back the phone.

"Make a password." Sarah holds out the phone.

Jessica snatches the phone and rolls her eyes.

"What is this?" Jessica looks up at Sarah giving her a funny look.

"Tinder. It's your cure."

"Haha, you are very funny! I don't do dating websites. I'm not ready to date."

"Come on Jessica... if Danny can have a partner why can't you?"

Jessica sighed.

"Sorry, but you get my point. Just make a password and I'll help you set up an account. It doesn't hurt to get your feet wet."

"I'll think about it." Jessica shuts off her phone and rubs her eyes.

25th-

Jessica got off work early for Olivia's first track meet of the season. It was her first time competing since her injury last year.

When she got there Danny had saved a seat for her in the bleachers.

"Ready to see her run?" Danny says in a friendly tone.

Jessica nods her head. "I'm nervous for her leg and all."

"She'll be fine. She braced it up."

"Here alone?" Jessica says looking around

"Yea, why?"

"Well I don't know. I never see this girlfriend of yours." Jessica says curiously

Ever since Danny left, not once did Jessica ever meet Justine, Danny's mistress. The only thing she knew about her was what the kids told her. She worked at a children's clothing store and was ten years younger than Danny. She never had a face to the name.

"I just think it would be awkward. What events are Olivia in?" He says trying to change the subject.

Jessica let's out a huff then rolls her eyes.

"What?" Danny turns to her

"If you think it's because I'm still in love with you or something that's not it. I'd just like to meet the lady that my kids are hanging around."

"I don't think that-"

"I'd like to see the woman you left me for. I want to know if my kids are hanging around a tramp."

"This is exactly why I don't want you to meet her." Danny exclaims

"What?"

"Your rude remarks. That's why... now please, stop."

"Fine." Jessica becomes a bit embarrassed.

**

"Great job, love! You did amazing!" Jessica says getting into the car.

"Thanks, mom." Olivia reclines the seat and tries to take a nap.

Jessica was tempted to ask Olivia about Justine but she didn't want to bother her. After a while she gave in.

"Hey, liv?"

"Yea?" She says with her eyes closed

"Can you tell me about Justine?" Jessica says softly

"Why?" She opens one eye and looks at Jessica.

"I've never met her. Since she lives with your dad I'd like to know a little bit about her."

"I've told you everything I know. She works at a boutique, her parents have bank, and she's tall and skinny with brown hair." She says in an irritated tone.

"Is she nice?"

"Yea. Why are you asking, mom?" She says sitting up

"Why do you think your dad doesn't want me to meet her?"

"Maybe he doesn't want to hurt you?"

"Heh, like he hasn't hurt me enough."

"Mom..." Olivia groans.

"I'm sorry! My point is, I'm not caught up on that anymore. I've moved past it."

"She's nothing special." Olivia shrugs her shoulders then lays back down.

"Okay... yea I bet she's nothing special."

Monday-

Jessica was working from home. She waited for Danny to drop off Olivia from school. She was sitting in the kitchen working on cases when the doorbell rang.

Jessica closed up her stuff and opened the door.

When she opened it she saw Olivia standing at the door next to a tall woman. She had a skin tight black dress on with heels. Her brown hair rested on her straight shoulders. Her hazel eyes sparkled and her makeup with perfect. Jessica blinked a few times then looked at Olivia.

"Hi...
Olivia, who is this?" Jessica smiles

"Uh... mom this is Justine. She dropped me off and wanted to meet you." Jessica turns to Justine and Justine smiles. She holds her hand out to Jessica. Jessica stared her down. She examined her body from top to bottom. She was stunning and young. Everything that Jessica didn't think she was.

"Mom" Olivia whispers trying to snap Jessica out of her stare.

"I'm sorry, hi." Jessica shakes her hand.

"If it's okay I'm going to go do homework. Bye Justine." Olivia says hugging her goodbye.

Jessica watches Olivia do so then go upstairs.

"Danny was caught up at work and Olivia needed a ride. I just had to meet you and put a face to the name." Justine says happily.

It made Jessica sick. She didn't know how Justine had the nerves to walk up to her door. At first Jessica wanted to meet her. Now that Justine stood in front of her she didn't like her presents.

"Well, thank you for giving her a ride. I could have done it."

"Olivia says you're always busy with work. I didn't want it to be a problem."

"Oh, right." Jessica crosses her arms.

"Jessica, you have wonderful children. Sean and Olivia are great kids. I want to be a mother like you."

Jessica's eyes widened. She thought this woman was crazy. She had never met her once. Justine was the home wrecker. Jessica wanted to say something but she held her breath.

"Well, thank you." Jessica nods

"I hope that we can get along in the future. For the sake of the kids."

"Yes, okay."

"It was great meeting you, Jessica."

"Have a good night." Jessica says stepping inside. Justine turns around and waves goodbye walking up to her sports car. Jessica rolled her eyes then closed the door behind her.

**
Jessica was a bit off that night after meeting Justine. She wasn't comfortable. She felt sick.

After dinner Jessica went up into her room and closed the door.

"Hey, liv, what's wrong with mom?" Sean says stepping into Olivia's room.

"I don't know. Maybe it's because she met Justine."

"Oh shit... are you serious?" Sean's jaw drops

Olivia nods

"Is she okay?"

"I don't know. Sean, can you leave I'm on the phone." Olivia groans

"Fine, whatever."

**

Jessica was in her bra and underwear. She was looking at her reflection through the mirror. She had her arms at her side. She tilted her head back and fourth looking at different angels of her body. She gazed at the stretch marks from her pregnancies, the extra skin she never lost, her butt, breast, and overall figure. Jessica never felt fully comfortable in her skin. Yet after she met Justine she felt even worse about her body. Justine had a perfect figure. A skinny waste and all.

Tears rolled down Jessica's face as she stared in the mirror. Jessica decided to put on her pajamas and stop making herself feel bad.

She laid in bed wrapped up her in comforter. She couldn't fall asleep so she decided to grab her phone.

As she scavenged through her emails she saw an email from tinder.

"Oh what the hell jess, just do it." She says to herself.

Jessica clicks on the app and begins making a profile for herself and learning how to use it.

She taps through and looks at the different men that were recommended for her.

"Hmm, he's not too bad." Jessica smirks.
