Katana:

Like a Ninja, Ayano instead of putting it on her waste, she puts it on her back under her quiver so that she can move around without having a limit on how she moves her body.

Her Katanas are also black to match her uniform, and it helps with blending in with her surroundings.

A Katana is a Japanese sword characterized by a curved, single edged blade with a circular or squared guard and long grip to accommodate two hands. Following tachi, it was used by samurai in feudal Japan and worn with the blade facing upward.

The bow itself is made out of bamboo sections and lacquered. It was loosed from one third of the way up it's shaft for convenience when riding a horse.
