Chapter Two

Jamie kept tugging her sleeves down because the kept riding up her wrist. If it went to far up they'd show her cuts. She tried her best to cover them up but it they were still noticeable. Her day was bearable and now she was on the bus. She got this eerie feeling the someone is watching her. Valentina, Dolly, Charlie, and Dominic had to stay after for some school thing. "Stop 42!" The driver said. Jamie got up and walked out of the bus. She silently walked toward her house with the same odd feeling. She stopped and looked around, no one was there. She did this once more and turned for the last time.

"Will you stop following me!" She yelled. Her eyes landed on Aspen.

"My house is this direction."

"Sure." She said sarcastically.  She kept walking and hearing his footsteps behind her. She just decided to try to ignore him. She got to the doorstep of her house. Soon she heard the jingle of keys nearby. She looked at the house next door to see Aspen. His dark eyes met hers. Jamie was about to open her mouth to apologize to him but he went inside his house before she could. She let out a sight and decided to enter her house. She immediately went to her room to work on her homework. She kept getting distracted in the process and it look her a few hours to complete her work. She heard the front door open and yelling immediately start soon afterwards. She was used to it though. It was sort of a daily routine. He comes home and the fighting starts. Then when Jamie came downstairs they'd become quiet and act as if they weren't fighting. Jamie knew everything about the fighting and troubles of her parents.

"Hey Jam."Her father said. Jam was a nickname ever since she was young and it kind of stuck. She threw on a fake smile and hugged him and then her mother.

"I made dinner, do you want me to serve some for you?" Her mother asked.

"No I'm okay for now. I have to finish up some math homework. I'll come down for some later." She grabbed an apple and headed upstairs.  She knew that she wasn't going to comeback downstairs for any other food. Somehow she has managed to get away with it for a while.

A month have passed and her life was going down a slope. It went from bad to worse. One night she decided to confront her parents about the fighting. As soon as she said that she knew about all of it just continued. They stopped being nice to her and when ever she entered the room they'd continue fighting. It was like she was invisible.

The loud yelling was loud and clear from Jamie's room. She heard a crash downstairs. Worry filled her and she ran. Her mom and dad stood there, glass shards near the wall. "That was my mother!" Jamie's mother yelled.

"Well she was a bitch anyways. I see where you get it from." Her father yelled.

"You're talking about bitches!? You should list the ones that you've been cheating with!" Jamie's jaw dropped at the information.

"They're much better than you!"

"D-Dad how could you?" She always thought her father was the good guy in these fights. Tonight proved her wrong.

"You stay out of this." He hissed at her.  She ran out of the house, tears streaming down her face.
