Pain {3}
Lloyd felt more uneasy on this island than when he was fighting his posed father on it. Something was throwing him off, maybe it was the broken dynamic of the team, or the fact that his uncle was missing. Either way he was very on edge. He followed the direction the brothers gave flawlessly. Bu the time they reached where the hole was the brothers were just as uneasy as the Green ninja.
"What?" Baraz ran ahead as they reached a clearing. "But it was right here!" He knelt down and felt around in a specific spot. "It was right... I don't understand."
"Did you get us lost Baraz?" Mian asked angrily. "Now that's just typical."
"This is where it was, you dolt! How can't you remember that much!?" The older brother sniped back.
"I'm sorry," The youngest brother sassed. "I was more focused on the dragon. That was about to devour our brother!"
Cole came to the clearing to see the brothers getting in each others faces but everyone sounded as though they were talking under water. Cole. A voice that resembled his mother's called. Cole spun around looking for the source. "That's impossible," Cole muttered to himself.
Over here. The voice echoed again. This time Cole knew exactly where it was coming from. He walked over to the edge of the clearing and looked down a raven. Cole used his powers to make a stair way to a ledge.
Zane called out to Cole catching everyone's attention. Everyone turned to see Cole walking down somewhere. Zane rushed over to the master of earth. The others followed and saw the staircase. They all shared uneasy glances then walked down the stairway. They found a dark cave.
"Guess they went in there." Lloyd turned to Kai. "Give us some light will you."
Kai summoned fire. "That's not at all creepy." He lead the charge with Zane. The others followed behind closely.
"I'm getting weird vibes from this place," Nya said her voice a little shaky.
"Oh yeah, lets all go into the creepy dark cave with no idea what we're walking into. What could go wrong?" Jay said sarcastically.
"Not now Jay," Lloyd said unusually forceful.
"What's you're problem Llo-?" Jay started to ask as they turned a corner.
They all fell silent and froze. Kai's flame flickered out and the cavern ahead of them was illuminated by purple crystals that scatted the walls of the temple. Zane was a few feet in front of them also perfectly still. Cole was staring up at giant stone doors with engravings of snakes dragons and some odd looking humanoid creatures with horns. It appeared to be a giant underground temple.
All of them felt chilled to the bone except Cole and Lloyd. Cole knew he'd find answers beyond the door. Lloyd was consumed with a feeling of rage and abandonment, but a part of him knew the feelings weren't his.
Zane was the first one to shake past the felling and step into the chamber the cold feeling was instantly gone. And he could think clearly again. "Cole." He called out to his friend.
Lloyd pushed past the feelings and pushed everyone into the cavern. The moment they all stepped out of the cave and into the cavern they regained their scenes.
"Did anyone else feel that?" Nya asks timidly.
"If you mean did it feel like we were staring your worst fear in the face and it was staring back then yes," Jay said shakily.
"Let's hope that doesn't happen on our way out," Baraz says coldly.
Jay, Nya, Kai and Mian all look to him.
"I swear to The First Spinjutsu Master. If you just jinxed us," Mian glares daggers at his brother. "I will never forgive you."
Kai turns to Lloyd. "You seriously came through for us there buddy." He ruffles his hair. "Thanks."
"Yeah, no problem." Lloyd says absentmindedly.
"Cole!" Zane shouts his voice echoing off the cavern walls. Everyone looks to Cole and Zane. Cole didn't even seem to notice the others presence. He just starred at the doors muttering to himself in what sounded like another language.
Lloyd rushed to the doors where the masters of ice and earth were. Zane was waving his hand in front of Cole's face but he didn't seam to register it. Even when Zane started to shake him he didn't notice. Lloyd touched Cole's shoulder, "Cole."
Lloyd heard a females voice echo through his mind. Only those of my blood can open the doors. It echoed in his mind over and over until Zane pulled him off of Cole. Lloyd groaned and stepped back he held his head in his hands because of a sudden splitting headache.
"It wouldn't stop." Lloyd said his voice echoed with pain.
Zane put his hand to the green ninja's head. "This should help with the pain." Zane's hand iced over. After a few a moment the ice receded and Zane pulled his hand away. "You're vitals have stabilized."
"How did you know that would help?" Lloyd asked Zane almost accusingly.
Zane looked to Cole. "It used to work on Cole."
Kai asked as he reached the top of the stairs that lead to the door the others ninja with him. "What are you talking about?"
"Used to?" Nya asked concerned.
"How long has this been going on?" Jay asked worriedly.
Zane looked down. "It doesn't matter right now. What does is helping Cole and Jahan."
Dark energy erupted through the cavern stopping the conversation and snapping Cole out of his daze.
The ninja all turned to look to the brothers who were engulfed it purple mist. Cole Jumped into action enclosed them in walls of earth.
"Cole! You're okay!" Jay shouted happily.
"Lloyd You have to open the doors!" Cole shouted his arms shaking as he held them out towards the brothers. "Go!"
Lloyd rushed to the doors. The moment he touched them they opened. The purple drained from the crystals they turned to an orange glow and mist flowed from the cave into the temple doors.
Then the makeshift walls of earth cracked and were blown to pieces. The two brothers now had grey skin and purple eyes. The brothers were corrupted. Cole summoned blocks of earth and sent them flying at the two brothers. They turned to Cole and growled angrily. "Come and get me you cowards!"
"Cole what are you doing!?"
"Are you crazy!?"
"Be careful Cole!"
Kai Jay and Lloyd all spoke over each other at once.
Cole ran through the temple doors the brothers quick on his heels. As the other Ninja went to follow a wall of earth blocked the door way.
"Did he really just do that!?" Kai exclaimed in anger.
"Cole this isn't funny! Let us in!" Jay shouted worry laced through his tone.
"He can't be alone with it in there," Lloyd said barely above a whisper.
"Cole is good with dragons. He'll be fine," Zane said comfortingly.
"It's not just a dragon!" Lloyd's voice thundered over all the others.
They all fell silent and looked to Lloyd.
"It's one-forth dragon. Three-forths demon. It's the daughter of the Over Lord."
