Ethan doesn't show up for the entire class. However, I have already finished my homework in class.
When class is over, I leave the classroom with a strange feeling. I almost had some sort of semi-date with Ethan, he was called on by the principal. And if it does happen at all, I have to figure out a way to shake off Abby too. I'll tell her, but not just yet. We go home together every day but I don't know if Abby is still waiting for that after this morning.
When I walk into the hall I glance around to see if I see Ethan somewhere. Of course not. He seems to have disappeared from the face of the earth again, just like two weeks ago. Then I see Abby approaching. I don't want to argue, but I'm curious why she didn't just wait for me this morning. 'Hey Abby, why didn't you wait for me this morning? Was I so deeply asleep you couldn't wake me up? ' I say with a laugh, but I mean it. 'Didn't I wait for you? You mean why didn't you wait for me? When I woke up and wanted to knock on your door, James said you left for school long ago without letting me know. " Abby says. My eyes widen. She doesn't mean this. "James told me you were already at school and knocked on my door for an hour." I almost scream. What a sick dude, he's just trying to turn us up against each other. "Abby, James is firing between us. I don't accept this. ' I say angrily, not at Abby but at James. 'Calm down, Es, I'll talk to him. I like him as a friend but this really sucks. ' Abby says and she gives me a hug. "Are we all right again?" I ask unsure. "Es, don't be silly, it has never been bad." And she hugs me harder. I sigh with relief. 'Hey do you feel like going to McDonald's? My treat!' She says cheerfully. I'm so looking forward to McDonald's!
'No sorry, I'm staying at school for a while to do some homework. Another time?' I say to the surprise of both of us. "Is good nerd, see you tonight." She gives me another hug and then walks towards the exit. Have I seriously canceled McDonald's for tutoring with Ethan, even though I don't even know if it will continue?
Then Julia suddenly runs past me. "Abby wait for me!" She screams so loud it almost makes my ears ring. I can see in the distance that Abby stops and when Julia has reached her, thread an arm through her arm and there both walking away. "Fuck." I curse out loud. Now Julia goes to McDonald's in stead of me. I hate it. I quickly grab some books from my locker and leave the school. When I am in the schoolyard I just see Julia and Abby walking away in the distance. I want to run after them to go along anyway, but my feet stop walking and I instinctively stand. Waiting for Ethan, who has probably gone home a long time.
