In honor of today being Percy's birthday, have a one-shot filler like chapter!

This takes place after the war with Gaea, on Percy's birthday, obviously.

Percy-

I woke up in my room. I just came back home a few days ago, and found out my mom and Paul were killed.

I looked at the news, it said today was August 18th. Normally my mom would've woke me up and gave me a delicious blue pancake breakfast. Then that afternoon she'd invite any friends I might have, or no friends if I didn't have any, to eat blue cake. Last year I spent it with Annabeth... and Nico, who is alive, uhh.. Grover.. Thalia..  a lot of friends last year..

It's difficult to think that I had just met most of the seven recently, and already Leo and I are the only ones left.

Thalia, Nico, And Leo were alive, so that's good. But it's not all of us.

I decided it wasn't a good idea to do anything today, so I went back to my room to go back to sleep.

Unfortunately, I couldn't fall asleep, no matter how long I closed my eyes my body just wouldn't drift to sleep.

I heard noises, but I just ignored them, continuing to attempt to sleep.

Eventually, I did. The blackness took over.

Not for long, I was awoken by a loud crash from my kitchen.

I sat up and rubbed the sleep out of my eyes, walking over to the kitchen slower than I should.

I arrived in the kitchen and my apartment was covered in decorations.

I saw Leo trying to clean up something that broke on the floor.

It looked like broken glass.

Leo looked up, and noticed me.

"Ahh! Percy! Uhh.. hi? I had a key so I didn't break in or anything, but.. I didn't break anything of yours it was a bowl that I brought.. it was for... uhhh..."

"WHAT'S GOING ON LEO?!" A girl yelled. I recognized the voice as Thalia's.

"CODE PERCY!" Leo yelled.

Thalia ran into the kitchen, her eyes widened when she saw me.

"Percy! How have you been?"

"Uhhh?"

"Good answer! Could you just.. go sleep, for like, an hour? This is just a dream so.. yeah?"

"I can't dream, Thalia."

"Wow what a miracle then! Just get to your room at least?"

I rolled my eyes.

"What's going on?" I asked.

"Can't you just tell him that we're throwing him a birthday party?" Nico asked as he walked into the room.

"Why?" I asked.

"Because it's your dam birthday." Thalia sighed.

"I know."

" yeah, but we know you used to have a huge party with your mom and friends.. so as your friends, we are throwing you a party.

Then Will walked into the room.

"Neeks cmon we gotta go get the frosting, Leo ate it all again." Will said. He then noticed me in the room. "Oh, hey Percy." Will smiled.

"It's not that I don't like Will, but why exactly is he here?" I asked.

Nico smirked at Will. "Anyways we're going to go get some frosting. Leo you need to stop wasting it."

"So.. everyone else is coming in an hour, wanna help us set up?" Thalia asked.

At that moment, I just wanted to lay in bed and never leave my room ever again. "Sure? Where should I start? Or.. what should I do?"

Thalia smiled. "Here, I think you know a delicious cookie recipe. She pointed to the counter which had all the ingredients needed to make cookies. She handed me blue food dye, and I went to make the cookies.

An hour later many of my friends and acquaintances arrived.

Clarisse, Calypso, Malcolm, the Stolls, Pollux, Katie, Chris, Miranda, Nyssa, Jake, Lou Ellen, Rachel, well, a lot of demigods. Even Chiron came.
And to my surprise, Grover did too.

He had been traveling around America to fix the after affects of the war, so it made me really happy to see him.

I ate blue cookies and blue cake until I couldn't eat anymore.

Everyone was happy, unlike the days before, we all remembered those we lost, we still were saddened, but right now, we just felt happy and united.

"Chiron, is it bad that everyone has moved on so quick?" I asked.

"Just because they don't look sad does not mean they aren't grieving, Percy."

"This has happened to you so often you must be used to it, right?"

"Unfortunately, nothing can make anyone used to death, it is a unfortunate thing for everyone. No amount of past grief could prepare me for this."

I looked down at my hands, which only a week ago were covered in blood. Not my blood, My wise girl's blood.

"I know it won't be easy for you to move on, it never is. If you can, visit camp soon? It'd be nice to have evidence you still exist." Chiron sighed.

I looked over at the living room, Tyson and Ella were playing board games.

I looked back at Chiron. "I'll think about it. I decided I'd make sure to visit their graves everyday if possible, if it becomes too difficult, then.. at least every week. I won't ever move on, I don't think I can.. I've lost almost everyone, but I can honor their memory, right? I don't want to sit around and sulk all day, they wouldn't want me to ruin myself over this.. but I can be the person they'd want me to be.."

Chiron smiled. "That is a wonderful plan Percy."

I smiled at that moment. A real, genuine smile.

I didn't know if the future to come, but I didn't want to spend my life upset over this.

I had to move on. For me, and for them.

I stood up and headed to Tyson and Ella. Maybe they could use an extra player in their game.

Woah I know, not a chapter you expected! I saw it was Percy's birthday and I had to do something special for it!

I wanted to focus on grief because everyone pretty much died..
Not everyone, but you get what I mean.

I myself have never lost anyone,
Literally my family never dies, I still have great grandparents. But my best friend recently lost someone she has looked up to since she was s kid, and I was able to base Percy's grief off of hers.

Also I don't remember if I made it so Percy knew Leo was still alive or not at this time, but I still wanted Leo to be here.

I tried to include all the characters that people would want to be there as I could, if I forgot them then they can be dead I guess? I don't really care. Either way I killed off Drew.
Ha that'll teach her.
