Finale 2
"AHHHHHHHHHH!" shouted Rachel as her consciousness awoke and her eyes shot open.
"Where is this?" she wondered. Looking down, she saw she was in a hospital gown, in a private hospital room. She got up by holding the arm of the bed, pain spreading all through her veins.
"Did I survive this time? And where is everyone?" was the question that rang through her mind. Seeing no one around her in the hospital room made her feel more uneasy; it had never been the case that she was sick and her parents were not there. When this realization hit her, her heart raced even more.
Where is Daniel? Where is he and everyone? She took out all the machines connected to her and walked towards the door, but just a few steps from the bed, her eyes started to become blurry, and she lost herself to the dark that engulfed her.
"Did she really wake up? Ah! Did she?" There was a woman's voice laced with worry, and she asked through her crying.
"Yes, my dear, the nurses informed me our daughter, she... she is alright. She might wake up at any moment."
"But, will she remember...?"
"Ah, what are you saying... she is going to be alright," replied the man, comforting the woman.
"Mom... Dad... it's them! They are alive..."
Slowly and slowly, in a few days, Rachel regained consciousness again. When she opened her eyes, her parents were beside her, just as usual, with their smiling, beaming faces, seeing their daughter healthy. But the one new face that had recently been added to her family should also have been here, but there was no sight of him.
For a few days, she tried to remain calm. She used to wait for him, always looking at the door and looking out the window throughout the day, as if at any moment his car would park, and he would come rushing up, all worried, and embrace her.
Seeing their daughter like that made her parents worry as well. It had been a week after she returned home, and she was always like that. One day, as her parents came to check on her, they saw her again like that, and this time her mother couldn't hold back and asked her husband, "Do you think she remembers?"
"What are you saying? If she did, she wouldn't still be like that. Now go, let's see her. It's better for her to forget. Don't remind her."
"Mom, Dad, you are here."
"Daughter, what do you look out for?"
"My husband..." replied Rachel with a sad smile.
Hearing this, the plate her mother was holding for peeling the apple fell from her hand, as her mouth opened and eyes widened.
Rachel's eyebrows also raised, seeing her mom like this.
Slowly and surely, something dawned on her. This... there is something wrong, something's really wrong.
And there was something else as well; she just couldn't get her head around why her home looked a little different. Did they renovate? And her mom and dad also looked so tired, as if they had aged through it all.
What do you think has happened!!!!?
