-Chapter 6-

Catrica's POV

"HORDAK, WHAT?!" I yelled at him.

"First of all, do not yell at me, and second of all, IT'S MR. HORAK TO YOU!"

"Okay, Mr. Hordak. Why are you calling our parents?!"

"A rule is a rule. I'm required to do this, or I can give you in school suspension and call your mom."

I rolled my eyes as he said that, "Okay, call her."

"WAS THAT ATTITUDE I HEARD?!"

"I was simply answering what you said."

He looked away from me and turned his attention to the corded telephone as he was looking at his computer and typing a number to call someone. I looked at Catra, but she didn't look at me once. She was looking over to the distance avoiding eye contact with anyone.

Maybe I shouldn't have done it.

What am I talking about?! She deserved it! I've been having to live with her all of my life, don't you think that's already enough for me?!

I watched as Hordak was speaking on the phone to Mom, but I just looked away from him. I looked away from both of them. If Catra didn't want to get hurt, then she shouldn't have gotten on my nerves.

Some time passed and we were there in complete silence. Well, maybe it wasn't so silent due to the clicking of Hordak's computer. He's been typing away for over 20 minutes now. I was just watching him typing on his keyboard, but unsure of what he was typing. As I looked away from it, I heard knocking on the door. Hordak went up to it and opened it as he smiled.

"Hello!" He said in the most elegant-try-hard voice ever, "Are you Catrica's and Catra's mom?"

"Yes, I am." Mom said as she was giving dirty glances over at us.

Mom sort of acted similar to us. Especially when we got in trouble, but it was just that she had a nicer side to her which is what Catra, and I had to work on.

I saw Hordak and Mom talking, but I couldn't hear what they were saying. All I knew was that we were in SO much trouble! I'm surprised that Mom didn't say anything about the scratch on Catra's face, but I knew I had to plead guilty to her sooner or later.

After a few minutes, which felt like hours, Mom walked over to us.

"GET INTO THE CAR NOW!" Mom yelled, not even saying hi to us.

What a disgrace.

But I couldn't say anything. I understand why she is mad at us. We couldn't get expelled from this school, we moved away too much! We couldn't even last a year at a school due to our behavior; Mom would always tell us how she wished we weren't twins, but I see it as a cool flex to say that I have a twin.

We both began to walk towards the car as Mom opened the driver's seat car door then slammed it behind her. She was very upset, but usually she'd be more upset at Catra more than me, so I didn't mind.

Youngest sibling privileges, I guess.

I slowly walked into the car, but Catra seemed as if she was in a rush. She avoided eye contact with me in every way as possible, but I couldn't care less. That was her problem if she was mad. I sat down in the back seat and closed my car door as Mom looked at me and Catra in the rearview mirror.

"ONE DAY!" Mom yelled at us both, "Not even one day you guys could've lasted before you fought! DO YOU KNOW HOW HARD THIS IS FOR ME AND YOUR FATHER TO BE PAYING FOR DIFFERENT SCHOOL'S EVERY YEAR?! DO YOU GUYS EVEN KNOW WHAT A SUCCESSFUL FUTURE IS?!" I looked down. Maybe I didn't, but a successful future surely didn't require Catra in it.

"I TRY MY BEST TO RAISE YOU GUYS BUT YOU GUYS ARE TOTAL ANIMALS! NO WONDER WHY YOU GUYS ARE CATS!" Mom yelled at us both.

The funny thing is that she's also a cat too, so she's technically discriminating herself while discriminating us.

"OH, YOU GUYS DON'T KNOW HOW MAD-" she said as she stopped talking. "Catra, what happened to your eye?!"

"Ask Catrica about it." Catra replied back.

I looked down as Catra said that all I could feel was fear rising in me.

"Hello?! Are you going to answer or what!" Mom yelled at me.

"Oh, uhm it was uh-"

"SAY IT ALREADY!" Mom said interrupting me.

"IT WAS AN ACCIDENT!"

Catra looked at me shocked, "ACCIDENT?! YOU GOT MAD AT ME AND SCRATCHED ME!"

"WHAT?!" Mom yelled, "OH, I DON'T WANT TO HEAR A WORD FROM EITHER OF YOU! JUST WAIT UNTIL YOUR FATHER HEARS ABOUT THIS. I'M SO ASHAMED OF YOU BOTH, WHY AM I EVEN YOUR MOTHER?!"

I looked out the window, not saying a word. Mom was strict, but Dad was beyond strict. He didn't take us being expelled for school seriously, we had so many consequences for them, but I think this might be the worse yet.

Although, or parents did argue with each other a lot. I guess that's how two cold-hearted people are like. They'd always compare us with their siblings because of how we both got along with each other. Well, it's not my fault that Catra is BEYOND annoying, and I can't control my anger. Our parents would always say hurtful things to us, like how Mom just did, but it didn't offend me since I was used to it.

I have to admit, Catra and I never acted like this. We used to be close with each other, but after our parents arguing of who knows what, our family was slightly broken. Mom would be rude to us and ignore us to let her anger out, and Dad was trying to say she couldn't do that, but that just led into more of an argument, but whatever. Dad lost his job and he's been coming home late, probably drinking alcohol, or at a club, which wouldn't surprise me.

Do you know what? Sometimes I really do think our family deserves these consequences. It's not only on our parents arguing, Mom and Dad just don't know how to keep a family rolling. It's as if they had a messed-up past, and they just want the same for us. Over the years of our parents arguing, Catra and I became more distance from each other. I ever since we came into high school, we decided talking to each other more. We just follow in our parents' footsteps, I guess. Isn't that how everyone's like, or how everyone wants to put it like?

Life was harder for Catra since my parents' picked favorites, which I eventually noticed overtime, but that as just better for me.

As I was looking out of the window to the ride home, I imagined the thought of me and Catra, but one memory came to my head...

*9 years ago, * (STILL CATRICA'S POV!)

"Hey! Stop running too fast, Catra!" I yelled while chasing Catra down the hall upstairs.

"You're going to have to catch me in order for me to stop!" Catra yelled back as she laughed.

I was also laughing too as I chased her. We were playing tag, like how we always did.

"WHAT THE HELL?!" I heard someone yell from my parents' bedroom, "IS THIS WHAT YOU'VE BEEN DOING?!"

I saw Catra stop running as she stood in front of my parents' door, "Tag, you're it!" I said back, but Catra didn't say anything. She just stood there, staring at the door.

"YOU'VE BEEN LYING TO ME CONSTANTLY; HOW DO YOU EXPECT ME TO TRUST YOU?!" I heard Mom yelling from the other side of the door.

Catra and I looked at the door shocked.

"Catrica..." Catra said, "What's happening?"

"I don't know. Are they fighting?!" I said back, concerned.

"Come on, let's go to our room." Catra said as she held out her hand to me. I held her hand as we both began to walk down the hallway into our room.

The yelling started to get louder, and louder by the minute. "It's okay." Catra reassured me with a warm smile. I smiled back at her as we both made it to our room. We both sat down on the bed as the screaming got louder.

"I'M DONE WITH YOU!" I heard Mom yell as I heard her marching out of the bedroom.

"I'VE BEEN DONE WITH YOU A LONG TIME AGO!" I heard Dad scream back.

I got scared as I ran out of the bedroom, "Wait, Catrica!" I heard Catra say as I heard the bedroom door slam from the distance. Catra was right behind me as we both ran out of the room. I saw Mom ready to walk out of the front door with her purse in her hand.

"Mom, where are you going?!" I said to her.

"I'll be back, okay?" Mom said back to me.

"NO, STAY!"

"I SAID I'LL BE BACK! GO PLAY WITH YOUR TOYS."

"YOU'RE NOT LEAVING!" I said as I held on to her hand.

"LET GO OF ME!" Mom yelled as she pushed me away, "I WISH I NEVER HAD KIDS!"

I looked at her shocked as she walked out of the front door. Tears were coming down my eyes as I heard her say that.

Catra looked at me and gave me a sad expression. She didn't say a word and just dragged my hand upstairs, and we both went back in our room.

I sat on the bed crying; I can't believe Mom would say such a thing!

Catra hugged me, as I heard her crying too. "Promise you'd never be like them no matter what?" Catra whispered to me.

"P-promise." I said as I hugged her back, crying even more.

***

PROMISE BROKEN! HOW COULD I EVER BELEVE THAT PROMISE WOULD LAST?!

I felt tears come out of my eyes as I looked out the window, but soon that sadness turned into anger. I still remember the first day we both argued, following in our parents' footsteps.

Thanks for ruining my life!
