Cry's pov:

"You hand her off, come back, the weapons are yours. Double what Robert sold me."

"Uhm, her?" I point towards Ellie. Marlene nodded.

"(Y/n) is only there because Ellie can't go anywhere without her. (Y/n) has made a bond with all of us. So keep her safe. Keep BOTH of them safe."

"Speaking of which-where are they?"

"Back in our camp." Tess glances at me.

"We're not smuggling s(nazzle) until I see them." I glance at (y/n) on how she would react to the cuss word. She shrugged it off and leaned against the wall.

"You'll follow me. You can verify the weapons. I can get patched up. But she's," Marlene pointed at Ellie. "not crossing to that part of town. I want Cry and (y/n) to watch over her." That's when I stepped in. Gotta act in order to be apart of it. I glance at (y/n) and she nodded slightly.

"Whoa, whoa, I don't think that's the best idea."

"Bull(poop)! I'm not going with him." We both spoke at the same time.

"Ellie..." Marlene looked sad. She mentally begged Ellie with her eyes. Ellie sighed and glanced at us.

"How do you know them?"

"I was close with his brother, Tommy. Said if I was ever in a jam I could rely on him." Marlene nodded her head towards me.

"Was that before or after he left your little militia group."

"He left you too...he was a good man."

"Look, just take them to the north tunnel and wait for me there."

"Jesus Christ." I mumble. Looking very stressed and angry.

"They're just cargo, Cry."

"Marlene..."

"No more talking. You'll be fine, you have (y/n) with you. Now go with him."

I look at Tess and glanced at everyone.

"Don't take long. And you-stay close." I say looking at Ellie.

"What about (y/n)?" Ellie asked. I look at (y/n) and smiled.

"She'll manage. Let's go." I said as I started to walk out. (Y/n) pushed off the wall and nodded towards me at Ellie. Ellie sighed and followed behind (y/n).

Once we were outside, bodies were the first thing we saw.

"Whoa, I heard all the shooting. But...what happened?"

"The Fireflies. Same thing's gonna happen to us if we don't get off the street." I jogged to the other side of the street, dodging and jumping over the bodies laid out like trophies.

"You're the pro. I'm just following you."

We run over to the gates and I silently gasp as I saw military trucks drive in front of us. A voice was heard faintly as they pass by. That's when I realized curfew was happening.

I ran around for awhile until I found it. I blush in embarrassment as I saw (y/n) smirk at me and facepalmed while chuckling.

"Haha...down here." I called out and rubbed the back of my neck. I was probably making a bad first impression in front of these guys.

"Keep up." We pass through the narrow mini hallway and I crouched, hearing the tires squeak as they drove by. Ellie just stood there with a bored look as (y/n) trails behind her. I nod at her and she nods back.

We went through another alleyway and I glanced behind me at the two girls. (Y/n) was strangely quiet, she was always the talkative one in the Walking Dead. So why not now?

'Gawd all these places look like basketball courts.' It did. The buildings were spreader apart just enough to make space for a court. The tiles were either full of weeds and plants or broken into pieces. Vines and shrub crowded the walls of the rundown buildings and trash scattered across the area. The other entry was blocked off by a metal fence that was bending in all sorts of places.

"So where we goin'?"

"Up there," I nod towards the metal tower. "That'll get us to the north tunnel." I replied coolly.

"How are we suppose to reach that?" (Y/n) asks.

"Just gimme a minute." I mumbled. She rolls her eyes and observes the tower. I look into the building beside the tower. A large dumpster stood in all its glory. I took it and slid it over to the tower.

'I'm probably impressing you guys now. See al these muscles??' I flex my arm and from the corner of my eye I see (y/n) stare at my arms. When she notices I was looking at her she blushed and turned away. I chuckled quietly.

She's cute.

I slide the dumpster to the tower and set it into place. I jump up with skill as Ellie follows behind me. She grunts as (y/n) climbs up behind her with ease. I wait for a but till they caught up and went inside the opened door.

"This tunnel...you use it to smuggle things?"

"Yep."

"Like...illegal things?"

"Sometimes." I reply bluntly.

"...you ever smuggled a kid before?" (Y/n) asks. I glance behind me.

"Nope, that's a first. Remember to include yourself to. So it's not just a kid but a lady too. Call it escorting perhaps." I chuckle. (Y/n) shakes her head and smiles. Her smile made-I'm sorry this might be cheesy but-it made my heart flutter. She was a charming, daring young woman. I like her.

I lov-

"What's the deal between Marlene and you anyways?" My mouth opened before I could finish my thoughts.

"I dunno. She's my friend, I guess."

"Your friend, huh? You're friends with the leader of the Fireflies. What're you, like 12?"

"She knew my mom, and she's been looking after me. And I'm 14, not that it has anything to do with anything."

"Where are your parents?" I ask as we climb up a flight of stairs. She sighs.

"Where are anyone's parents? They've been gone a long, long time." (Y/n) answers for Ellie.

"Hm. So instead of just staying in school, you just decide to run off and join the Fireflies, is that it?"

"Look, I'm not suppose to tell you why you're smuggling us if that's what you're getting at."

"You wanna know the best thing about my job? I don't gotta know why. Be honest with ya, I could give two s(hape up man) about what you're up to." I glance behind me to see (y/n) with a scary glare on her face.

"Meep." I squeak quietly. Curse Joel for saying such words in front of a girl! (Y/n) is gonna murder me in my sleep.

"Well great."

"Good."

This was a bad start. Ellie and I aren't going off on a good start. I open the last door in the hallway and gesture to it.

"This is it."

I open the door wide enough for the two to get in. I close the door and slide off my backpack. I set it down on the floor and lay on the couch after dusting it off. I pat the pillow and sighed. (Y/n) went to the windowsill and stared out into the city. Ellie looks at us as if we were crazy.

"What are you doing?"

"Killing time." (Y/n) and I both say. We glance at each other and smiled. Ellie looks around.

"Well, what am I suppose to do?"

"I am sure you will figure that out." I lazily replied. Ellie observes me as she walks by the couch.

"Your watch is broken."

I sighed and soon fell asleep, ignoring her comment.

I awoke with a gasp. "You mumble in your sleep. I hate bad dreams." I heard Ellie say. She was sitting on a couch chair moved closer to the window. (Y/n) sitting in the same windowsill. She was fast asleep, breathing lightly and quietly. Ellie looks back at the window.

"Yeah...me too." I say and put my head in my hands. I rubbed my face under the mask to wipe away the tiredness from my eyes. Ellie glances at me and stares out the window as I approach her.

"Ya know, I've never been this close to the outside. Look how dark it is." She gestures to the outside. The window was filled with raindrops that sometimes fell and splattered on the floor.

"Can't be any worse out there...can it?" Ellie stands up as I turn on a lantern. I turn around and face her. The question I thought about, was blurted out, by none other than me.

"What on earth do the Fireflies want with you?"

I was about to get an answer when Tess came in.

"Hey, sorry it took so long. Soldiers f(ivedollarfootlong)' everywhere."

"How's Marlene?"

"She'll make it. I saw the merchandise...it's a lot." Tess glances to the side at (y/n), who was still sleeping quietly.

"Wanna do this?" She gestures to the other 2 girls. I nodded and she went to the door. I look at Ellie.

"Wake her up." I nodded at (y/n). As much as I wanted her to stay asleep for energy, we had to go. Ellie nodded and nudged (y/n), making her bolt straight up in alert. She rubs her eyes and yawns cutely. She then stood up and followed us through the door.

"Don't you think it's a bit strange that they're having us do their smuggling?" I ask Tess.

"Marlene wanted to do it herself. We weren't their first choice, or the second for that matter. She's lost a lot of men. Beggars can't be choosers." Tess replies as she was constantly looking out the window.

"Yeah, let's just hope there's someone alive to pay us."

"Someone will be around." Tess slides a bookshelf and a hidden passage way was behind it.

"Come on."

I look at (y/n). "Ladies first. Well, in titanic rules." (Y/n) rolls her eyes and smiles at me. I grin back and she slips through. I follow after her. I turn on the gas motor and hop onto the elevator.

"Who's waiting for us at the drop off?" I ask Tess. Her arms were crossed and was on guard.

As always.

"She said that there's some Fireflies that have traveled all the way from another city. Girls must be important." Tess raises her voice over the sound. She narrowed her eyes towards (y/n) and Ellie.

"What is the deal with you? You some big-wig's daughters or something?" They both sigh.

"Somethin' like that." (Y/n) answers and walks off the elevator.

"How long. Is this gonna take?"

"If everything goes in plan we should be there in a few hours. Ellie, (y/n), once we get there, I need you to follow OUR lead and stay close."

"Mhm."

"Yeah. Of course." (Y/n) and Ellie say at the same time. Something was wrong with (y/n)...she was never this quiet. My worry raised and I felt butterflies in my stomach in nervousness. I switch on my flashlight in the darkness. I look at a map and my face makes a poker face.

I can't read this.

Oh wait, they're patrol routes.

Ha, I'm stupid.

'I'm gonna pretend I know what I'm doing and yeah. Let's go ladies and kids. I mean, kid. Wait, she's 14...she's already a teen.'

I climb up to the surface and lift up the wood. I push it to the side and look around.

"Hold up. There's a patrol up ahead." I mutter. After they were gone I went up.

"Come on. Hustle hustle." I lift it back into its spot after they were all gone. Oh, I love this part of the game.

"Holy s(habam). I'm actually outside..." Ellie mutters. (Y/n) hit the back of her head lightly.

"Ow! What the hell was that for?!!" (Y/n) shushes her and chuckles. I shake my head.

She's back. It's okay.

We silently walk through the truck. I look around but I forgot a guard was there. She hit me in the back of the head with her gun and I fell to the ground. I groan in pain as I heard the voice.

Not God telling me to some into the light but the guard.

"Don't do anything stupid."

"Move." Another guard commanded. All three of them knelt on the ground, hands up behind their heads. They were turned away from the guards. I get up with the help of (y/n) and follow their commands.

"You scan them. I'll call 'em in." The female guard said.

"Alright."

"This is Ramirez at sector 12...requesting pick up for 3 stragglers."

The male scanned Tess and me. But when he went to scan (y/n)...

She flipped her knife in her hand and stabbed his leg. She was a bout to get hit when Ellie took the hit. The male guard was about to shoot Ellie until (y/n) tackled him to the ground. Tess shot the female guard, making her fall down instantly. (Y/n) shot the male guard and got up.

"Oh f(lappy bird). I thought we were gonna hold them up or something!!!" Ellie said panicked. Tess grabs the scanner and takes one look.

"Oh sh(eep man. It's fluffy). Look." Tess tosses me the scanner and I stare at it. It blinked red and I stare at (y/n). My heart broke a little as she avoids my gaze.

"(Y/n)...why didn't you tell me?!!" My voice raises. She winces. I look at Tess.

"Marlene set us up?!" My voice laced with anger. I look at both of them.

"Why the hell are we smuggling infected girls?" I snap. My calm demeanor was gone and I glared at both of them. I knew this would happen but (y/n) too?

"I-I'm not infected!!" Ellie backs into the box behind her. (Y/n) runs to her side and wraps protective arms around her.

"No? So this was lying?" I threw the scanner beside them and (y/n) shivers.

"I-I can explain..." (Y/n)'s soft voice stutters. Either she was cold or scared.

"You better explain fast." Tess held her gun out and my eyes widen.

(Y/n) might die.

(Y/n) lets go of Ellie and pulls down her sleeve as Ellie lifts up her sleeve. (Y/n)'s bite was on her shoulder while Ellie's was on her forearm.

"Look at this!" (Y/n) stayed silent and looked down at the ground. Ellie looks at me with scared and hopeful eyes. Consumed by my anger I wave it off.

"I don't care how you got infected." I turn around and pinch the bridge of my nose.

"It's 3 weeks old! Both of ours!" Ellie pleads.

"No, everyone turns within 2 days. So you stop bull(crapping)!" Tess was angry.

"It's 3 weeks! I swear!" Ellie says again.

"Why would she set you up?" (Y/n)'s voice asks. I turn around to see her big (e/c) eyes looking at me. Her eyes...they were telling me something.

'It's true...I'm sorry. But keep in character...' That's the message. That's my cue.

"I ain't buying it." I turn around to see a car.

"Sh(alfkenfisncje)." I mutter.

"Tess, run." I start to back away.

"RUN!!!" I yell and Tess motions the 2 to follow us. I run to the left, hearing the footsteps behind me.

"Go, MOVE!!" Tess ushers. I jump down into the trench. (Y/n) runs into the small opening, everyone follows behind her.

"Follow me. Quickly." (Y/n) commands. It was like Tess and her switched places for a bit. Is she playing as all characters??

We heard the commands of the guards. We ran and ran from cover to cover, hearing the blaring of alarms.

"Guards. There." (Y/n) points out. I nod.

"Stay back."

I slither through the broken buildings, taking cover behind each of them. 'I'm setting a better example, now. Maybe she'll learn to be good next time...' I thought happy thoughts.

I quickly avoid an upcoming guard's light. I hid behind a metal cover and throw a brick at his head.

'HA. FOOL.' I mentally cheered in my head. Then were spotted.

"Great idea Cry. Great idea." (Y/n) whispers. I panicked and started shooting everywhere.

"Globfammit Cry! Stop-it!!!" (Y/n) whispers angrily as she dodges my bullets with ease.

"F(lippy) it. Run!" I whisper yell. We ran through another truck and never stopped running. We somehow managed to survive and make it into the sewers.

"Ewwww. Gross." Ellie says as she steps into the water. I sigh and step into it too.

'Now I have soggy socks. If they haven't died yet, then they must be some kind of cure...'

"Gather up. They're calling us back. Back to the wall!" A guard commands.

'Good. They're gone.' I think as I opened a gate. (Y/n) and Ellie sit down on the ground in relief.

"They're gone." I say, looking around. Tess crouched in front of Ellie.

"Look-what was the plan? Let's say we deliver you guys to the Fireflies, what then?" Tess asks.

"Marlene...she said that they have their own little quarantine zone. With doctors still trying to find a cure." (Y/n) speaks.

"Yeah, we've heard that before, huh Tess?" I scoff. (Y/n) ignores me and looks back at Tess.

"And that...whatever happened to us is the key to finding a vaccine." (Y/n) finishes.

"Oh Jesus." I sigh in disbelieve.

"It's what she said!" Ellie exclaims.

"Oh, I'm sure that's what she said." I glare at Ellie and (y/n).

"Hey, f(larp) you man! I didn't ask for this!" Ellie exclaims, standing up. She glared back at me. I walk towards Tess.

"Me neither. Tess, what the hell are we doing here?" Tess stands up.

"What if it's true?"

"I can't believe-"

"What if, Cry. We've come this far let's just finish it." Tess says. I clutch her shoulder and point out at the city.

"Let me remind you what's out there." I snap. We glance at (y/n) and Ellie. (Y/n) looks lost and sad. She was tightly holding Ellie in front of her.

"I get it." Tess walks into the city and Ellie follows behind her. Ellie gives me a glare as she passes by. I look at (y/n) who looked lost. Her eyes trail up from the ground to me. She bit her lip and hesitantly steps towards me.

"Let's go..." She whispers and holds onto my arm. I sighed and look at Tess.

"This way." She points at the fallen building.

"If we cut through town, we can get to the Capitol building by sunrise."

"We hope."

A/n: YAY!!! Finally I finished this chapter! It's very long and takes a lot of time to type. It's time like these that I actually like autocorrect...

Really intense stuff happened in this chapter. But at least I added humor. I literally just name the chapters randomly. Just things I think of during the chapter XD
