Not A FairyTale
Complete and utter bullshit. I swear...
Narrowing her deep teal eyes, she looked around her. Their principal finished their speech, and everyone clapped. Her wavy black hair bounced on her shoulders as she huffed.
Standing up abruptly on her chair, when the principal got off stage, everyone looked her way when her chair fell. Storming onto the stage, no one made a move.
She stood on top of the step that left in front of the podium with the microphone, she began to speak, her voice wavering slightly.
"You all heard our beloved Principal correct?" No one answered her, and she cleared her throat.
"Everyone has told us, to make our own path, to stray from the crowd and be your own person..." She paused, swallowing the nervous lump in her throat.
"But then, they tell us to find our Prince, and our Princess...that doesn't make sense!! Your following everything they want you to, making you believe that you're being yourself when you aren't!!" Suddenly feeling confident she relaxed a bit.
"In the FairyTale, the princess is guarded by a deadly dragon, and the prince saves her, and they live happily ever after...But, the FairyTail I believe, is that, the princess falls in love with the dragon... She wanted to be her own person, and make change, so she ran away...." Looking among the students in the crowd, she saw the millions of eyes on her, wanting to know more.
"She stumbled upon a dragon, with fiery pink hair...He helped her from her confused state, offering her to join his band of friends, that they call family... He showed her a happier side to living, and she showed him that there's a chance to move on from the past, and look forward...." An echoing voice from the crowd spoke up.
"That doesn't have to do with anything!!" Taking a deep breath in and out, she ignored the statement, and continued the speech that she made up as she went along, thinking about none other than her favourite show as an example,
"The princess, Lucy Hearfillia, becomes best friends with the dragon, Natsu Dragneel. They protect each other, care for each other, and maybe, just maybe,..love each other..." Pausing a moment she smiled.
"To answer your question...Lucy followed her own path, and found true happiness...something she wouldn't have found if she did what everyone else did...I challenge you to follow in her footsteps" looking to the sides of the stage, she noticed the adults walking up to her.
"Don't find your Prince or Princess!! Find your dragon!! And follow your own path!!!" She stated finishing up, a bright smile on her face.
The clapping started slowly, but soon the adults stood up, causing the graduating kids to do the same. She was soon taken off the stage and out of the gym, where she stood with the principal and vice principal.
"Do you have any idea what you just did!?" He exclaimed. The girl stayed calm.
"I do. If I didn't, I wouldn't have said anything in the first place Sir." She stated, the lump trying to resurface. But she wouldn't let it.
The vice principal spoke up. "What was that!? You disrespected us, and the entire celebration, ruining it for everyone in that gym!!" She didn't budge, looking in both of their eyes.
"That was the truth. Something you are clearly not familiar with. Yes, I disrespecting the planning of this celebration, but I didn't ruin it for anyone... If you don't believe me, go see for yourself before you jump to conclusions." She mentally cursed herself...what if they didn't like that? She'd be screwed. Big time.
Walking back inside the gym, fixing her chair and sitting on it, she waited to see the adults reactions.
The people sitting around her, friend or not, began to whisper questions and praises. She smiled, regretting her decision to do that in the first place.
The principal never went on stage. And didn't say anything about it to anyone, like the girl challenged.
In the party room, she didn't take any cake, and sat alone on one of the chairs. Something didn't feel right about the situation...she felt it... Maybe it was just because her parents weren't here to see her do something that didn't copy her bashful personality.
She wondered if what she did was worth it...saying those things up on stage...
She shook her head, not bothering to worry about it, and just go with the flow.
Hopefully next year will be just as entertaining...
