Twenty Five-Northwest Makes Good On His Deal
I yawned and opened my eyes, shocked when the first thing I saw was Gideon.
"Oh my gosh!" I exclaimed, bolting upright. Gideon stayed asleep, and I remembered that invited him to spend the night.
Cautiously, I shook his shoulder.
"Hey Gids. Time to wake up." He opened his eyes and looked at me. He looked confused for a minute, then shot up and looked away.
"I must apologize for my behaviors. I didn't mean to-"
"Dude." I interrupted him. "You didn't do anything wrong." He turned and looked at me and I smiled. He looked away again like the jerk he is.
"Of course."
"Now c'mon you big dork, let's go downstairs before Fordsie gets up and play it off like you didn't spend the night here." Quickly and quietly, we made our way into the kitchen without waking Ford up.
"Is Stanford always a late riser?" Gideon asked.
"It's either really early or really late, it depends." I shrugged. I got Gideon and I both a bowl of cereal that Melody kept in the cupboards for mornings she wasn't there and we ate in silence.
About five minutes later, we heard some commotion in the museum, and Ford entered the kitchen a moment later.
"Oh! I didn't think he'd be here so early." Ford commented, starting a pot of coffee.
"Why were you in the museum?" I asked. Ford stalled for a second.
"I was in the gift shop. Darn vending machine is on the fritz again, so I fixed it." Confused, I decided to change the subject.
"So Gideon, you're not actually going to talk to Pacifica, right?" I asked.
"Are you mad? I have to! I made Pacifica a promise and I have to honor it. Besides, I do not want to get on her bad side." I sighed.
"So you're actually going?"
"Yes."
"And there's no chance of you letting me come along?" I asked. Gideon looked at me like I was crazy.
"One hundred percent out of the question!" He grabbed my hands. "Do you know what Pacifica would do if she got ahold of you? Unimaginable things! I'm sorry but you're staying here!" I sighed.
"Then let me walk you to the door." I slid out of my seat and walked slowly with Gideon to the front door.
"I'm sort Mabel, but I can't risk your safety." Gideon said, looking me in the eye.
"You said you have to honor any promises you make, right?" I asked, getting an idea.
"Yes, why?" I wrapped my arms around Gideon.
"Then this is a promise. Promise me you'll come back unharmed." Gideon stood with his arms at his sides for a moment, then wrapped them around me as well.
"I promise." We pulled apart and we waved goodbye, and I swore he was almost blushing.

Leaving Mabel behind at the shack, Gideon continued on to the Tent Of Telepathy. A large sign read 'all shows today canceled' in front of the entrance. Gideon passed them and entered.
"There you are. I was beginning to think you'd be a no-show." Pacifica smirked. She was sitting on the stage.
"I have what you asked for." Gideon said, sighing. He joined her on the stage.
"Oh yes, my infinite power. Show me!" She commanded, sounding like a child. Sighing yet again, Gideon retrieved the Journal from his cloak. Pacifica's eyes glittered with astonishment.
"I found this journal in the woods behind the elementary school a few years ago. It's within these pages that I found the location of the amulet. You cannot tell anyone about this. Not even my father knows." He explained. Pacifica was mesmerized by the book.
"Let me look inside." He tentatively handed her the journal and she read through almost the entire book, remaining seated for at least two hours as she read every word, examined every picture, and questioned every code.
"Pacifica," Gideon finally spoke softly. "Are you satisfied?" Pacifica slowly looked up at him with empty eyes and held the book up for him to see the subject of the page: Bill Cipher.
"Not him." Gideon pleaded. "Anyone but him." Pacifica narrowed her eyes.
"We will summon Cipher now."
Ten minutes later Pacifica was seated on the stage, surrounded by a circle of candles and a newspaper clipping of Mabel. Gideon gulped from his seat in the audience. Slowly, Pacifica began to recite the chant listed in the Journal. Her eyes began to glow and the world became black and white save for the two preteens and the yellow triangle forming above Pacifica. The triangle then began to form limbs, an eye, a hat, and a bowtie.
"Oh, Gravity Falls!" The triangle called out in excitement, then became disappointed. "Oh. It's just Gravity Rises." Shaking, Pacifica rose.
"Demon!" She commanded.
"Oh, well if it isn't Crescent Moon!" The triangle greeted, turning to face Pacifica. "I've been watching you and Lone Wolf over there for quite some time. Only he's never had the guts to summon me." He said. It felt strange to Gideon, seeing an all-powerful demon and being referred to as a lone wolf. Pacifica stomped her foot.
"Enough of this chatter! You have knowledge that I wish to possess!" The triangle let out a hearty laugh.
"Oh, Moon. I have too much knowledge and power for you to possibly handle. But I'll cut you a deal. I'll share some of it with you if you give me some info on Pine Tree." Recognition clicked. Cipher was looking for information about Mabel.
"Pacifica, don't do this!" He warned. The triangle looked back at him.
"This isn't your choice to make, kid."
"Deal!" Pacifica shook his hand, engulfed in blue flames. Suddenly, there was a flash of light. Pacific became engulfed in it, screaming louder than Gideon thought possible. He was thrown back on the floor and began to inch his way towards the exit that only seemed to get further away.

As if Gideon being gone all day hadn't worried me enough, just after sundown a bright light flashed from the Tent Of Telepathy that I could see from the porch.
"Gideon!" I shouted, running into the lawn.
"Mabel, I'm sure he's fine." Ford reassured, catching up to me. Nothing happened for about fifteen minutes, when Gideon came staggering through the driveway.
"Gideon! You're okay!" I yelled, overjoyed. I ran to meet him. "Do you need help?" I asked. I pulled his arm around my shoulders to help him in, but was shocked when he pulled me into a hug.
"Mabel..." He said quietly. I hugged him back.
"What happened?"
"She summoned him, he's coming for you." He said, worried. "I lost the journal."
"That's okay. But who's coming after me?" Shocking me, Gideon kissed me on the forehead.
"Don't let him in." And with the final statement, he passed out.
(A/N) I'm legitimately upset that Gideon's Cipher is Lone Wolf.
