Chapter 5

Something about the atmosphere surrounding Emma didn't feel right, so cautiously, opening her eyes, she quickly scanned the new area, remembering that he went to bed last night. Serval woman vocalized in union woke Emma, as all of their different acoustic tunes harmonized with each other in perfect union.

The teen walked around the setting noticing the silver blue moon casting over the stary sky. The grass was soft and vibrant as she strolled through it barefooted. A gentle mist rose her and even though others would be scared, Emma felt safe, being conferred by the ancient song that the woman sang. Though she couldn't see them, she tried to follow their voices but as she drew closer, their music faded.

She now heard the sounds of chirping crickets and the buzzing of dragonflies as she soon came upon a path surround by shrubbery. Brambles pulled at her pajama pants, but she barely noticed. The willow trees seemed to bowed at her like royalty.

At the edge of a lake, she came to, Emma stared blankly at the misty water and the land that it reflected before her. The fog thickened around her, moisture collecting on her face and the leaves of the trees, dripping slowly into the lake.

Emma, lost in the scenery, barely registered the soft neigh nearby. The whisper of the neigh started Emma as she took her gaze away from the landscape.

Soon the night turned to day in mere seconds as a magnificent white mare emerged from the mist. She was flying or what looked like running in the air as she tackled down to Emma, landing just a few feet from her. The mare shook her long silvery mane while she gave out another hearty neigh. Emma's breath caught in her throat in awe at the brilliant creature. With shoulders slumped, her eyes never left the mare's stunning white coat, her mane that sparkled like stars and her head that seemed to be carved out of polish marble. The blue eye teen met the mare's brown liquid eyes, and a warm sense of ease flooded over her.

Emma stretched out her hand, and met with the mare's pink and black velvet nose. It was warm to her touch.

A calm settled over Emma and peace soothed her broken heart. Pink light sparkled from Emma's fingertips the moment she touched the mare. Before she knew it, Emma was riding through the woods with this mare she trusted. A castle of white gold overlooked the land with trees and a large misty lake.

The mare and Emma rides through the dark green forest. When they came upon the large lake, Emma expected the mare to jump over or go around it but instead she keep on running, flying over the waters as if it was land itself. Instead of flying, the mare had a magical ability to walk on the air, without any wings at all. Stardust follows around them, floating through the sky as if an invisible strip of land created a path for them

As they traveled, Emma spotted a single orchid in the distance. As they drew near, she leaned in and plucked the flower and keep on riding. She didn't know why, but Emma just knew that the orchid was important.

The rider and horse then came to an opening in the forest that was lit in a natural light, covered by trees creating a woodland alcove. In a shimmering glow of display of lights, a woman appears as they entered. Horses of all breeds and sizes encircling the tall woman.

She was glowing and hair of blonde was in contest movement even though there was no wind. She wore a long white floating dress and a brown headpiece around her head. Her blue eyes stood out from her honey skin.

Hopping off the white mare, Emma bends to one knee and offers the godly woman the orchid. She accepts the flower and the moment she carefully takes it, the woman and the white horse vanished in a blink of an eye. Sparkles twisted around and soon a golden door appeared in the woman's place. Vines and flowers covered the doorway but Emma knew something truly magical was behind it.

With shaking hands, Emma pushed on the door and blinding prism of lights burst open. Curling her fingers around the door, she peaked through the portal.

Tongues of orange flames fills her vision. Smoke and ash wisp up, getting thicker as the flames spread, lashing out its evil towards Emma. The girl tries to run away from the flames but they caught up to her no matter how hard she ran.

She closes her eyes hoping to escape from this nightmare.

Jolting in pain from her vivid dream, Emma opens her eyes in her bed safe and sound just as she had hoped.

But inferno of blaze and vapors surrounding her told her otherwise.
