Chapter 5

Magnus had fallen into a pool of ice on the ice flats. Now it would'nt effect me or Frost, our bodies can literally survive -290 degrees Celsius. Poor guy was frozen. He looked like an iceberg, his head just floating above the water. Frost and I, of course, had to rescue the tiny, shivering green blob. We had to find a cave that was not on the ice flats so Cana could create a lava pool without it melting a hole in the ice, cracking it, and sending The already freezing Mag and Cana to icy dooms while frost and i would literally just chill and breathe underwater with our gills.

Like Cana and Mag could produce fire and were virtually fire proof, though Cana said that she's the only one that she knows of who can produce lava. Magnus said something about it being rare.

Frost and  I could survive WAY bellow freezing, and breathe that when used can freeze anything, and we can sometimes use the electric current in our bodies and shoot out electricity. That's how mother died. The little walkers tried to steal her power to Chanel power. They failed helplessly, ending her life in the process. Some of us can communicate with the wind, it would tell us news of the world and wether or not any walkers were coming. I am one of the few who can. The wind is comprised of hot air and cold air and is controlled by nymphs, Sea and sky nymphs to be exact. They were only about 12 feet tall, usually wore delicate gowns, dresses, skirts and other clothing items out of light green-ish material and had soft dragon-fly -like wings.

we also needed shelter, so the lava didn't freeze. We searched for what seemed to be hours. When we found the cave we were searching for, it was quite big and was probably 800 square feet , I tried whispering to the nymphs, they didn't like loud noises. I heard nothing but the strong billowing of the winds. I heard Frost quietly asking Cana what i was doing. She just gently told him to just watch carefully as she continued to produce lava for Magnus. I kept on trying. The wind sweeping my voice away like a swirling tornado of sound.

"Oh ancient winds, graceful nymphs of the sea and sky, i ask thee, to calm  your restless spirits and grant us safe passage" I whispered gently. The others called the dragons like me wind whisperers. " Any news would also be nice." I asked gently. As the billowing wind fled by, i saw the ghostly out line of their impish figures, maybe twice the size of a Walker adult. I recognised the blue queen, flying among her subjects, guiding them in certain, carefully calculated trails. Her queenly gown was probably hand crafted by herself, the delicate patterns swirling in all directions, carefully calculated, like her.

"Articana, how lovely it is to see you again. Your safe passage is granted. There is a large party of humans  headed north east, but i am aware that you will be headed south east to reach the walker cities. Until next time, old friend." And she swished away, leading her people to unknown destinations.

I smiled gently before turning back. I had been whispering in an ancient language that only few understood, and i was one of the few who were blessed with speaking to the nymphs of the sea and sky. Frost was looking at me like i was crazy, eyes full of wonder.

"What was that?" He questioned.

"I'm a Wind Whisperer. I can communicate to the nymphs of the Sea and Sky." He looked at me, confusion written on his face.

Cana nudged me. "You're still speaking that weirded nymph talk" she whispered in my ear. I grunted in frustration. I repeat what I said before, but this time in our tongue. Mag was just laughing his tiny ass off.

"You're voice sounded like a bunch of I've shards were being blown in the wind." Frost states.

I just huff in response. My tail involuntarily starts to flick about. Mag laughed even more. I glared at the tiny little green dragon. My tail slapped him across his snout.

"Oww!" He yelped. His eyes began to tear up.

"Awww is little Maggie crying?" I hear Cana tease.

"Don't call me that! I'm not a girl!" He started to cry again.

"Really? Because for a guy, you sound awfully wimpy and girly!" Frost teased. Anger boiled up inside me. I saw Cana melting the floor. Frost noticed this.

"Woh woh woh, cool it, it was just a joke!" He was backed up into a corner, his glistening eyes full of fear. His scales blended in so well, that I could barely see them, and I could only make out the slight outline of his well toned body and beautiful eyes.

Cana and I just huffed before curling into balls by the lava pit that 'Maggie' was currently sleeping in. His nose poking out like a huge alligator. Frost sighed in relief. I couldn't tell what he was doing. Our paws have padding similar to polar bears, making it hard to hear our foot steps. I grunted in frustration. I could smell his slightly rain smelling scales, like warm, fresh fallen snow.

Without warning, he plonked down on the floor, right by my back, almost touching. I was having none of that. I blushed and carefully pushed his huge body away from me. He just sat there and pretended to shiver. I ignored him. He sighed before falling asleep. The soft, rhythmical breathing soothed me and sent myself into deep slumber.
