“Lesson one,” Chloe sighed, going through his closet. They had decided to change after all the.. things that had happened with the dough. Everyone had changed but Jake. “Get some new clothes. These would be terrible in America. You look like a freaking prince.”
“T-that’s what I am.” Jake raised an eyebrow.
“No, like, from a Disney movie. It's stupid. We should go pick you out some clothes.” Chloe sighed, dropping the shirt she was holding. “Whatever. Change out of those crusty clothes so we can go shopping.”
“Wait, we're going shopping?” Brooke perked up, smiling.
“Yup.” Chloe sat next to Brooke, pulling out her phone and putting about a dozen photos from that day on instagram.
“Yes!” Brooke air-pumped, making Chloe giggle. Jake watched this with a smirk, glad his new friends were happy.
Oh.
Friends.
He didn't expect that. But it's good, right? Good that he has friends? Yeah… he definitely thought so.
Rich came out of the bathroom in a flannel shirt and jean shorts. “If we're going shopping, go get changed. I could use some new clothes.”
“We aren't going shopping for you, Rich.” Chloe sneered.
Rich rolled his eyes. “I know that, but that doesn't mean I can't buy something.” He sighed and jabbed his thumb backwards. “You should get changed so we can leave as soon as possible.”
Jake nodded, walking into the bathroom. While he was changing, he could hear Chloe and Rich arguing. He didn't know what they were arguing about, and he didn't particularly want to know. He walked out of the bathroom, interrupting their conversation.
“There you are!” Brooke ran up to him and hugged his waist tightly. “Saaave me!”
Jake laughed and patted her head. “Come on, let's go shopping and leave these two hotheads here.”
Brooke smiled. “Okay!”
Chloe and Rich quickly scrambled over to them, brushing themselves off.
“Sorry. Chloe's a bitch.” Rich turned to her, growling.
“You're a bigger bitch.” Chloe stuck her tongue out.
“Whatever. Don't even wanna know. Let's go.” He walked out, his friends trailing behind. “What stores are we going to?”
“I was thinking Hollister is a definite yes.” Chloe looked up in thought. “Maybe Abercrombie.”
Brooke nodded. “Maybe Forever 21. They have a cool men's section.”
“Macy’s, definitely.” Chloe said, looking down at Brooke. They started going on about different stores, leaving Rich and Jake to chat.
“Can I say something weird?” Rich spoke softly.
“You always say something weird.” Jake smiled. Rich groaned and pushed him playfully. “Yeah, you can. Go on.”
“I kinda wanna buy a dress.” He shook his head. “Sorry, that's weird. Boys don't wear dresses.”
“That's actually not that weird.” Jake shrugged. “Guys can wear dresses and girls can wear suits.:
Rich nodded. “Didn't think you of all people would support that.”
Jake cocked an eyebrow. “And why is that?”
Rich opened his mouth to speak but fell silent, not knowing what to say.
“Hmph.” Jake huffed. “Anyway, would you guys rather take a vehicle or like, walk?”
“Let's take a car.” Chloe said, firmly.
Eventually they had started driving in a car down the road; Rich had offered to drive instead of a servant. Jake sat in shotgun. (I know I said they were 15 but scratch that they're 16 now )
Chloe and Brooke were scrolling through their phones in the back. Eventually, about 5 minutes into the ride, Rich decided to turn up the radio. Girls like you by Maroon 5 came on, and Rich smirked.
“Rich, no.” Chloe shook her head, and Brooke giggled, opening instagram and turning it to a live.
“Rich yes.” Rich smirked, and Jake raised an eyebrow. Rich started dancing and singing along, making Brooke giggled. “Cause girls like you run around with guys like me till sundown-”
At one point in the song, Rich had gotten enough courage to wink at Jake, but he didn't notice. When it came to Cardi B’s part, Jake randomly started rapping it. When he was done, Brooke and Chloe clapped while Rich began singing again.
Eventually the song ended, and everyone started laughing.
“I didn't know you could sing that well,” Jake smiled, looking at Rich.
Once again, Rich flushed slightly. Why? He didn't really know.
“Ah, thanks.” Rich smiled. The whole ride there, everyone took turns singing songs.
Eventually they arrived at the mall, Rich parking and everyone getting out. They all started walking towards the entrance, laughing.
“Dude, that was so funny when to sang God's plan.” Rich looked at Brooke, snickering.
“I honestly really hate that song.” Brooke grinned.
“Me too.” Chloe added quickly.
“Anyway, where are we going first?” Jake said as they walked into the gigantic building.
“Let's go to Forever 21. I need to get something from there, anyway.” Chloe said, pointing at the store on the right. Jake nodded, and they all walked inside.
“I'm going to the woman's section, uh, Brooke, you can come I guess.” She gestured for Brooke to follow. “The men's is over there, you guys.”
Jake nodded, following Rich. He found himself somewhat entranced by the way Rich's hair bounced up and down- but that wasn't important. At all.
Rich walked into the men's section, immediately going over to a sleeveless muscle tank. “Okay, well, I'm buying this.”
Jake chuckled. “If you say so.”
Rich found himself staring at Jake again. (Okay, Rich, time to stop-)
Jake walked over to the shirts and started looking at them. “I like this.” He held up a black and white checkered tee.
“Sure. Me too. Buy it.” Rich thought for a second. “Do you get everything free because you're a prince?”
Jake nodded, a little confused. “Yeah, duh.”
“Does that mean I can get this shirt for free?” Rich smiled, his small lips curving up into a perfect grin.
“I guess it does.” Jake smirked. “Go all out, I don't really care.”
Rich squealed and started picking out random things that he liked.
Eventually they had searched the whole men's section, which was much, much smaller than the rest of the huge store.
“Can we uh, go look for a dress? For me?” Rich said, timidly.
“Sure.” Jake smiled, mAKING RICH BLUSH MORE.
They walked over to the dress section, Rich immediately running over and grabbing a black skater dress. “This one. I want it.”
“Sure, sport.” Jake crossed his arms and just watched Rich examine the dress.
“This would look good with fishnet leggings; can you go find me some?” Rich tilted his head to the side, staring up at Jake.
“Mhm.” Jake nodded, walking off. He found the leggings and came back to Rich holding a pair of black heeled booties.
“I'm gonna go try this on, come with?” Rich said, already stepping towards the changing rooms. Jake shook his head up and down before starting to walk with him. The woman gave him the pass and unlocked a room, letting Rich inside.
Jake pulled out his phone while he waited, realizing he never bothered to follow his new friends on anything. So while he waited, he did just that.
Eventually Rich came out, twirling around and giggling. “I love this!”
Jake smiled, feeling his face heat up the slightest bit for no apparent reason. “It’s kinda short, but yeah, it looks good.”
Rich smiled. “Thanks.” He said, his voice quiet and soft. He went back into the changing room and changed out of his clothes, going back over to Jake. “Let's go find the girls and get something to eat before we go anywhere else; I'm hungry.”
Jake nodded. “Okay.”
They found the girls looking through crop tops. “I like this one.” Brooke held one uo, catching Chloe's attention.
“That's a good color for you.” Chloe smiled. Jake came up and tapped Chloe's shoulder, making her turn around quickly.
“We're going to get something to eat.” Jake smiled. “Check out and meet us at the food court.”
Chloe nodded. “If you say so.”
Jake turned to Rich. “Race you there?”
“You're on.” Rich smirked.
