A little Halloween gift, from me to you.

=•Colby's POV•=

In that moment I could only think of one word.

Run

So that's what I did. I ran like hell. I jumped from my Stole, knocking it over in the process, then darted for the door.
The sounds of my angry science teacher were drowned out by my own worried thoughts.

What if I didn't make it out on time?
What if I shifted right here and now?

All these questions swirled around my head as I tried to remember where the nearest closet or washroom was located in this maze of a school.

I knew my time was coming, so I just ran into the closest room to me.

Flopping to the floor almost instantly I didn't even have enough time to close the door.
I had to drag the tail around and move out of the way. I then reached up and shut the door then locked it.

I let my head go slowly to the floor and I just laid there...
And I thought about it, all of it.

How I was gifted these, powers!
How I can't touch water anymore, how I need to trust these new friends I have.
But also how I need to watch out for the group of popular people, Brad and Dan...

Sam, Corey, Elton...
I've been granted 3 amazing new friends...
And Jessie, I can tell something is, off about her.
But off in a good way.

Let's hope she doesn't find out about all this.
But after a moment I realize something...
Tomorrow is Halloween.
I never even realized that! So much time has passed and I didn't even notice it.

I was snapped back into reality when I looked up towards the clock on the wall and noticed that it's 5 minutes until the next class. Which leaves a possibility of people needing this classroom for a class.

I started to panic.

I needed something to dry off with, a towel, cloth, ANYTHING!

From my surroundings, I noticed this was an English classroom which didn't help my situation.

I then started dragging myself towards the teacher's desk.

There's got to be something in there...

The back of my tail was aching by the time I reached the desk. I opened all the drawers and cabinets, nothing I could see would help me.

I was desperate now, with 2 minutes left I almost considered using the teacher's phone to call Sam. But then I saw something on the desk that gave me hope.

A box of Kleenex

A knock broke the silence that coated this room and I opened the door.

The teacher standing before me was young, she had curly brown hair and wore a white foot shirt and black jeans.
"Child what are you doing here?" She jokes as I stand in front of the Kleenex filled trash bin.

She glances at what I'm hiding, I step aside and put my hands up in defeat. "My allergies were acting up and when they start, they're bad. and I'm self-conscious about my sneezing" I lie as she nods.
"Well. Good luck with that, but I have a class to teach, so... Get going" She claimed says as I exit her class.

Just after leaving her class I let out a big sigh of relief and nervousness.

I went back to Science class and found the classroom empty. I shrugged and walked to my table and collected my things. before leaving the class Jessie re-enters the class with a nervous look on her face, but that wasn't the only thing that looked of about her, something about her hair looked different...

"Hey, you okay? Sorry about the water... I didn't think that'd happen" I say to her as she shrugs. "Don't worry it's... it's fine. I had to run.. because I-I didn't want it to stain my shirt" She says to me as I nod. "Yeah... yeah the same thing happened to me, or something like that" I tell her as I glance away. "I'll see you later?" She asks me as she grabs her books. I nod as we head out of the class.

=•End of the Day•=

The gang and I sat on the curb of the school and watched as the cars passed. "Guys it's Halloween! What are we gonna do?" Elton asks as we all stare at him. "What do you mean?" Sam asks Elton. "Guys it's the most wonderful time of the year! The day was the dead rise and rule" Elton says as he throws a fist into the air. "Most wonderful time of the year? Ain't that Christmas?" Corey asks as Elton shakes his head. "Not in my opinion" he smirks.

"Want something to do tonight boys?" A voice says from behind us, we all turn and see Kim and Kloe standing over us. "Yeah, there's gonna be this party..." Kloe starts "OMG shut up Kloe! As I was saying, Dan is throwing this totally wicked arty tonight, everyone is gonna be dressed up, come if you want to be remembered by this school" Kim smirks as we all look around at each other. "Come on Kloe, we've got mclennon fics to read" Kim says as they start to walk. "I don't even ship Mclennon" Kloe pouts as they keep walking.

(I wrote down Becky and Jessica for that paragraph before realizing it's supposed to be Kim and Kloe....)

"Well looks like we have our plans" Corey tells us as Elton smiles. Sam and I glance at each other with worried faces. "Are we really going to this party?" I ask them as Elton nods confidently. "Hell yeah, we are! Come on boys, just because we can't go fricken trick or treating anymore doesn't mean we can't have a good time" Elton says to us.

Last minute Halloween shopping is always something....

The four of us went to the Halloween store and soon all agreed to be superheroes. I was Aqua man... well more like I was peer pressured into being him... Elton was the Hulk, Sam was Spider-Man and Corey was Superman.

=•At the Party•=

"Okay boys, let's get ready to party!" Elton smiles as we walk inside.

I realize the girls were right... everyone was dressed up. It was kinda cool...

The music was loud and people were dancing in the living room as if it was a dance floor. There were snacks and drinks in the kitchen and they told us to knock before entering an upstairs room.

We walked around a corner we were greeted by a figure in Freddy Kruger mask. "OH dear gosh!" Corey jumped back as Dan removed the mask and laughed. "Nice one" Brad in a Jason mask walked up beside his friend. "I'm so glad you could come!" Dan smirks as he puts his arm around my shoulder and takes a couple steps with me. "This is gonna be, so much fun. I know what I've got planned tonight... what about you? Got any girls you've been waiting to..." I cut him off. "All I have planned is to not get an STD" I tell him as we all take a step back. "Come on Dan, leave'em alone" A girl says from behind him.

She had brown curly hair in a wonder woman suit. "hey Corey!" She smiles as she pushes past Dan and Bad and hugs Corey.

Wonderwoman and Superman... Cute!

"Corey... WHo's this?" Elton asks him as Corey gestures towards the Wonder Woman. "this is Devyn, she's my girlfriend" Corey tells us. "AND She's my sister" Dan cuts in as we all stare at him. "Leave them alone Dan, plus I saw Becky and Jessica are here" She smirks to her brother as the 2 fuck boys eyes gave each other a weird glance.

"Anyways... see you later?" I tried to sound cool as we started to walk away.

"So Corey" Sam leans closer to him. "When were you gonna tell us about Devyn!" I exclaim as they both blush. "We were waiting for the right time" He says as he takes her hand in his.
"Oh and guys don't take my brother seriously... His bark is better then his bite" Devyn assures us as Sam lets out a huff. "yeah... Sure" He says sarcastically as I know he's referencing the incident on the beach.
"W-What did they do to you?" She asks us nervously. "Corey... He'll tell you later" Sam says as he changes the subject. "wanna go dance guys?" Corey suggests as we all nod.

The dance floor was filled with drink couples who were practically leaning on each other or else they'd all just fall over.

We started dancing in one of the emptier corners and it wasn't bad, people were staying in there areas and we stayed in ours.

But after about 20 minutes all the power went out.
One girl screamed, most drunk people just loudly complained and swore.

Then after a moment of confusion a loud smash, scream, and a bang came from upstairs.

"What the hell was that?" Elton asks as he takes a step in the direction of the stairs going up.

Then a girl who I recognize from school comes running down.

"H-Help... Help me, please. I was upstairs... with, with Jake, and a man appeared, he had a ax..." She tells us as she tried to catch her breath. "She's just fucking with ya" Someone slurs as I take a step closer towards her and I take her hand and feel how it's cold and shaky. "She's telling the truth" I tell them as Elton steps closer. "We should check this out" He says as Corey steps back beside Devyn. "Hell no... am I going up there with some psycho," Corey says as Elton gives him a stare. "Come on" Elton says. "Devyn... stay, stay here" Corey pats her hand and takes a step with us as a group. I glanced over at Sam and noticed his fearful expression. "We've got this" I try to comfort him as I pat his shoulder.

Elton leads the way up the stairs, slowly but surly we make it to the second floor, with no lights on we had to use our lights from our phones to light the way.

All the doors in the hallway but coming from one room was the vague sound of a male voice grunting, not in the sex noises way... but as if he was being held captive.

I glanced back behind us and saw some people from the party had slowly crept up the stairs behind us and were watching us like a flock of hawks.
I shook it off then turned back to catch just as Elton slammed his fist on the door and shouted.
"HEY MORON! OPEN UP OR ELSE I'LL COME IN" Elton threatens as we hear the groans become louder. Elton opens the door and (Magnus) rushes in and starts yelling.

"WHAT THE F**K IS GOING ON IN HERE!" He yells but stops the moment his camera light reveals the guy with an ax who's standing over the teen who's on the floor all tied up and gaged.

He takes steps closer to Elton and we notice he's wearing a Michael Myers mask, so we can't see his real face.

"F**k run!" He tells us as we all turn on our feet and book it. We run and make a hard turn out of the room running towards the stairs where people had started to build up and we didn't even need to tell them to run, the man was already at the exit of the Room and people screamed when they saw him...
Back on the main floor people where running aimlessly, trying to get out. We were stuck in the middle of it all.
"Guy, guys where's Devyn, I'm not leaving without her" Corey says as he stops and starts to look around.

We were now in the kitchen and haven't seen the Michael Myers masked guy since upstairs...

"Devyn! Devyn babe where are you?" Corey calls out as Sam smacks his hand over his mouth. "Shut up! What if that guy hear you" He tells Corey as he shakes Sam away.

We're all silenced by the only loud sounds of someone slowly walking down the stairs.

I take a small step towards the edge of the wall of the kitchen, and peek around to where you can see the stairs leading upstairs and I see his big shoes on the stairs...

"Go, Go" I tell them as we push past people and start to head in the opposite direction.

But as we leave the kitchen we enter the living room which was the dance floor but is not just deserted.

As we make our way through the room a figure pops out from behind the DJs turn tables...

Him

"How the hell!" Sam whines as he pulls someone from behind the table and holds the ax to their neck...
"Devyn" Corey gasps as his eyes start to tear up in fear,
Then it all happened again, people screaming and running.

He held his ax and prepared the chop. But just before he did... A Freddy Kruger runs into the scene and rips the mask off the man revealing its Brad....
Everyone stops and stares.

Brad and Freddy Kruger who was Dan start laughing.
Most of the people who were scared were pissed but all the drunk people laughed and giggled.

We just stood there...
Corey looked at devyn with betrayal in his eyes. She stood behind her brother as they laughed and mocked our faces.

A guy comes and stands beside us. I realize who it was now, he goes to our school, his name is Aaron. He was still gagged but no longer tied up.
He caught my attention and gestured for me to untie the gag.
"Yeah" I told him as I walked up behind him and undid it. "What the hell did they do to you?" I ask him as he lets out a sigh. "I was in on it... They said they wanted to have a party that'll be talked about for years..." Aaron explained as Sam looked away in disgust.

"Yeah, they got what they wanted all right" Corey says sarcastically.

"Come on guys, let's get out of here" Elton says to us as he gestures for the door.

I kinda felt bad. All Elton wanted to do was have a fun Halloween and theses jerks had to come and mess it up...

As we exited the house I realized it felt cooler outside.

Then something hit me, literally and figuratively.

It was raining...

Lightly, but enough for that magical sensation to start building up inside me

"shit, run" I told them as I bolted for the car.

"What? Why" Sam asks as they speed up after me. "It's raining Moron" Corey elbows him. 

Sam's eyes widened as they all chase after Colby as he tries to open the back seat of the car.

=•Third Person•=

"ELTON OPEN THE GODDAMN(door) CAR DOOR" Colby yells  as he keeps trying to open the door. Corey runs up behind the car and pops the trunk open and shouts "COLBY GET IN HERE!" and Colby zooms to the back and literally jumps into the trunk and right before he shifts Corey closes the trunk door. Elton and Sam where in the from seats and Corey jumped into the back. As Elton starts to drive Corey turns and looks into the trunk and sees a merman Colby all curled up in the back. "Hhhhheeeyyyy Corey" Colby says then sighs. "How you doing back there Colby?" Elton asks as Colby puts a hand into the air and makes a thumbs up. "Doing just fine" He says to them as Elton pulls into a red light while Sam unbuckles his seat belt and crawls into the back seat with Corey. "Hey Buddy, sorry about this... Guess we should've checked before heading out" Sam says sheepishly. Colby shrugs and tells him "It's not your fault, now we know that Elton needs to learn to unlock his car doors faster" Colby signals Elton out. "Why was you trunk open and not the other doors?" Sam asks Elton curiously. "The trunk doesn't lock properly" Corey starts. "So I just leave it unlocked" Elton finished....

Hey guys I really hope You enjoyed this (Late) Halloween chapter! Sorry if it was kinda rushed... 

But anyways, I hope you all had an amazing Halloween.
