It's official, Fridays will be the day I update Normal! So now there's another reason to love Fridays more than every other weekday (;

It was the Saturday after the full moon.

Corey had invited Elton over to his house to discuss what they were going to do with the new information they'd obtained during their full moon at Sam's house.

"What are we gonna do?" Elton asks as Corey stands up from where he was sitting on his bed.

Elton had taken a seat on the desk chair, spinning in slow circles. While Corey began passing around his room.

"We've gotta tell Colby. He needs to know".

"No... No. If Colby finds out then he's going to fall even harder in love with her. A shared secret always brings people together." Elton rubs his beard.

"It's not like we can confront her... She doesn't even know we know" Corey remembers.

Since she was moonstruck she stayed her in mermaid form for the duration of the night. When the sun rose she transform back with no reconciliation of what occurred while she was a mermaid.

"What about Sam?" Corey inquired as Elton rolled his eyes.

"Sam can't keep a secret to save his life".

"He's kept Colby's secret".

"From strangers. Sam and Colby are best friends. He won't be able to keep it from his ride or die. So we gotta keep this between us until we figure out the best way to eliminate this threat" Elton plans as he folds his arms over his chest.

"E-Eliminate? Elton, she's just a teenager! Not a hitman"

=~•Third Person•~=

"So that's all that happened?" Colby asks with a giddy smile as Sam nods.

"Yep, it was wild. You just popped out of the bathroom like 'hey guys' it was hilarious" Even Sam was about to laugh.

Colby shook his head as he ran his hand through his hair in which was now being taken over by his magic blue highlights. After the last full moon, the highlights that were once just the tips of his fringe are now almost the entire piece of hair covering his forehead. He also discovered that now, whenever he touches water, the blue will begin to glow.

"This is crazy... We've gotta get better at this" Sam nods in agreement. Colby fidgets with the pen on his desk before he continued "Until then... I've got my first official date with Jessie!".

It took a second for the idea to register in Sam's mind.

Colby... And Jessie... They're a thing now?
Colby, my best friend...

But the blonde pushed the thoughts down as he put a smile on his face. "That's great! So what's the plan?".

"I think we're gonna go see the new IT movie! This Wednesday after school" Colby spins in his chair as he continues to explain his plans "Then I think we're gonna hit up Dairy Queen, gotta get them blizzards".

The statement made Sam laugh a real laugh. "You're not wrong... Damn, I could go for some DQ right now" He wished as Colby abruptly stopped spinning on his desk chair and stared at Sam.

"Me too?" He phrased it as a question as Sam narrowed his eyes.

The two shared a look. Then as if they could read each other thoughts, the human and the merman both jumped up from their seats. They sprinted down the steps trying not to trip. Colby jumped down the last three, while Sam fumbled to get his keys from his pocket and they raced each other to Sam's car.

The boys pulled up to Dairy Queen just as the sun was setting, covering the stand in a warm ray of sunlight. They needed to wait for a couple of minutes as there were a few other people in line in front of them. Which was perfect because they had time to examine the menu and decide what they wanted to order.

Sam's foot was anxiously tapping as he realized how close he was standing to Colby. It made him anxious, but also curious.

Usually, when he stands this close to someone, he would be able to feel the heat that was naturally emitted from one's body.
If anything Sam was almost feeling colder the closer he got to Colby. Then again they were at an Ice Cream stand.

This Dairy Queen was different from all of the others in LA. It wasn't a walk-in restaurant-style, it was more of a pick up outdoor style. Where you walk up to the window, order, pick up, and go sit at a picnic table. It was their favourite out of all the Dairy Queens.

(Fun Fact: Colby's first job was actually @ a Dairy Queen!)

"I'm thinking of gonna go for a brownie blizzard" Colby nods his head, agreeing with his own statement.

Sam shook his head, shaking his mind out of the trance he was in. "Hm, yeah. Sounds good... I'm just gonna get my usual".

"Cheesequake Blizzard with extra cheesecake and caramel?" Colby recited Sam's usual order with ease, which caused the blonde to blush madly.
The brunette noticed and smiled "What? I'm right aren't I?" He chuckled lightly as Sam nods.

"Do I order it that often?"

"Uh- yeah"

Once they got their ice creams they settled down on the curb beside the shop.

Colby held his cup up "Here's to new beginnings" Sam raises his cup as well, they cheer their DQ cups before digging in.

The boys didn't even hear the car pull up behind them, nor did they see the girl yelling at her father from inside. The two were focused on their halfway done blizzards when the teenaged girl opened her car door, then slammed it so hard it startled Colby, causing him to release his un finish Blizzard out of shock.

The scene played out in slow motion as the merman watched his cup fall from his hands. He imagined what it'd look like with ice cream that's melted splattered on the ground, ants running to eat it. 

But when the cup hit the floor, nothing spilled out, it just rolled towards his left foot. 

He quickly picked it up, hoping to get it before the 5-second rule was up.

"What the-" He questioned, picking up the significantly colder cup.  Looking inside it was evident that all of the ice cream was frozen. Colby leaned over to look into Sam's cup, it was evident that Sam had some melted ice cream. So this made no sense. His ice cream wasn't frozen when he dropped it.

The merman basically reenacted the classic DQ commercial where they tip the Blizzard upside down to show nothing comes out, and that's exactly what happened.

"Can I use your spoon?" Colby requested. Sam gave him a questioning look as he handed it over.

Colby jabbed at the blizzard but it was rock solid.

"You don't think this could be...?" Sam didn't even need to finish his thought. Colby had already picked it up where he left off and was analyzing the idea.

"No..." His voice trailed off when an idea popped into his head. Colby jumped into action, quickly reaching over towards the blonde who at first leaned away in confusion before Colby snatched the Blizzard out of his grasp.

"Hey-"

"LOOK!" Colby hadn't even been holding it for 2 seconds but when the two looked back at the once semi-melted ice cream they were both heavily surprised to find it completely frozen.

"Melt it" Sam politely demanded.

"What?"

"Melt. It" Sam repeated himself, this time slower and quieter as he didn't want to attract too much attention to them. "You know, with your-" To help get the idea across the blonde stuck his hand out in an Iron Man Arc Reactor like gesture.

"Ohhhhhh" Colby said, catching onto his idea.

With everything that's been happening recently, Colby was able to melt the ice cream with ease, turning it into a dairy soup. But when he tested the idea of refreezing the ice cream, nothing happened.

"Maybe it was just a fluke, a coincidence" Sam supplied as Colby rolled his eyes.

"But what are the odds?" Colby responded with as he put the ice cream in front of him on the ground in frustration.

There was a moment where neither of them said anything. 

"What are the odds?" Sam questioned as he playfully raised an eyebrow.

What are the odds is a game Elton showed them. Basically two or more people would randomly guess a number (In this situation 10 and under) and if they guessed the same number then one person would have to do whatever the other person had requested.

Colby smirks as the boys both say 8 at the same time.

This little game broke the tension that had been slowly building. Causing the friends to chuckle to themselves.

"We still got it" Sam said as he held up a hand for Colby to high five. Which he did, of course, high five. But when their hands came in contact, Colby felt it, Sam did as well. A cold surge was emitted from Colby's hand the moment it straightened out, right as they high fived.

The two glanced at each other before eagerly looking at Sam's blizzard.

And what are the odds, the blizzard was now rock hard ice.
