I went to the grocery store this evening, because my host mom forgot to buy an ingredient for supper. Actually she asked Sune while I was chilling on the couch, scrolling through my social media. The two were bickering in the kitchen and short after that Sune plopped beside me on the couch. She whispered underneath her breath.
 
  
    
"Brooke, I have to ask you a favor."
 
  
    
I nodded while still scrolling through my social media, acting like she wasn't setting up something at all.
  
  
  
"See, I can't really go to the grocery store right now, because my ex works there..."
  
  
  
I almost snorted and glanced at her. "You are kidding me right?"
  
   
  
"Sorry," she apologized and raised her shoulders with the most innocent look ever. I couldn't resist that adorable look.
  
   
  
"Aish you are fifteen what the hell." Though I stood up and turned around.
  
  
  
"어머니 [Mother], I'd like to go to the grocery store instead of Sune if possible. So I can explore the area a bit."
   
   
   
My host mom's face was a bit clueless when I asked it, but she picked up a normal expression short after. Though I could see her glance at Sune right behind me. The girl quickly picked up her phone and acted innocently.
  
   
  
"Uh... Yes of course, excellent idea! But will you be able to find it? Otherwise Sune can still go with you-"
   
   
  
"No, no need to," I interrupted her and held up my phone, showing Google Maps.
  
  
   
"Ah, I see."
  
   
   
Right before I headed out I looked at Sune who was still on the couch. She gave me a quick finger heart and silently laughing I shook my head before closing the door shut behind me.

With my earphones in I was walking down the street. A mix of kpop and the classical Western top 40 pop music was playing. A bit of Harry Styles, Billie Eilish, Drake and Ed Sheeran—all the obvious stuff. I used Google Maps to find my way through the maze of streets, however using the gps killed my battery slowly.
   
    
  
I passed so many fashionable dressed people on the streets that I had to stop drooling over their cute clothes; the fact that my suitcase was still lost made me feel jealous and uncomfortable. I felt people staring at my sports leggings and loose shirt, or at least I could feel their eyes staring at my back. I wanted to tell them: hey, I'm the most fashionable person you'll ever meet. It's not my fault that my clothes are somewhere else on this planet, whether the sky or in Mexico.
  
   
   
After a short ten minutes I reached the grocery store. Just in time, because my battery would be dying soon. I had to pray that I could remember the way back to the apartment. Tough the real problem was that I had to survive without music. Aka the worst nightmare of a 21st century girl.
  
  
  
Outside the store hung a billboard. I halted and stared at the man in the picture, I recognized him from something. Who was he again? Then it hit me and I remembered his name: Jungkook, the maknae of BTS. I'd once watched one of their famous run episodes and of course I'd listened to 봄날, because that song is just beautiful. But that wasn't the only place I remembered him from... I cracked my brain to find the answer and a sweet smile creeped up in my thoughts. That was it! The boy I met this afternoon at school. I didn't recognize him back then because everyone, but literally everyone, has bangs in Korea.
  
   
  
On my first day in Seoul I had already met one of the most famous k-idols ever!? That would be highly unlikely, maybe I was wrong.
  
  
  
I pushed against the doors and a bell announced my entrance. The cool breeze made me shiver. I rubbed my arm with my hand in order to make the goosebumps disappear that arose due to the sudden temperature drop.
   
   
   
Why is it always too cold inside a store and too hot outside?
   
  
   
I grabbed a shopping basket and pulled out the shopping list my host mom had given to me.
   
  
   
'Ramen, carrots, spinach and tomatoes' was written down in neat handwriting. Repeating them in my head I walked down de aisles and searched for the ingredients.
  
  
  
I didn't take long to find all the vegetables and I put them in my shopping basket.
   
  
   
But when I looked at the aisle for ramen I was startled. There were so many types or ramen. Kimchi flavoured, vegetable flavoured, pork flavoured, chicken flavoured, shrimp flavoured, beef flavoured and so on. First I picked the kimchi ramen, but then I changed my mind and picked the chicken ramen as well. I was about to walk off to the counter but two seconds later I changed my mind and walked back.
  
  
   
More choice is better, right?
  
  
   
So I took a pork ramen too. Until I looked once again at my shopping basket.
  
   
  
I shouldn't buy too much though...
   
    
  
I quickly put the pork ramen back and left with two packs of ramen each flavour.

When I left my phone had officially died and it came to my memory. I thought I had taken the right way back but I guess I didn't, because I ended up getting lost in a cobweb of alleys.
   
   
    
It was soon getting darker and I fraightened for my life. I began to run like they did in the maze runner, but I didn't have a certain pattern. My footsteps echoed against the concrete walls of the buildings and every minute I was more scared.
  
   
    
After what felt like running for hours I stood still, panting. Then I heard footsteps coming my way from around the corner. When the figure came around the corner I felt like a a deer caught in headlights. My heart started beating faster and faster and droplets of sweat were streaming down my forehead. Not only because of the tiredness but also because of the unknown that was coming my way. I ran towards the wall and pushed my back against it, hoping it would make me invisible in the night. I could almost feel my heart jump outside my ribcage. It felt like I was having a panick attack and I was close to passing out from the stress and angst.
   
   
  
The figure came around the corner and was wearing a big blue hoodie and looked at me the same way, angsty. When he put a step forward I could see his face from underneath his hood. Beautiful doe eyes behind round glasses looked at me. I was shocked because I recognized the man. Jungkook was the one standing in front of me. I felt so relieved when I recognized him and let out a breath I had been holding a while.
  
  
  
"What are you doing here?" He asked, breaking the silence.
  
  
  
"I'm lost."

I'll be on vacation for two weeks so I either wil be able to upload a lot bc my unsocial ass or I will actually visit some sights and spend time with my family.

Oh and guys, I just accidentally ate a rotten plum with worms in it. I feel so gross right now oml.
