Fatherly Love and True Love
"So then," I.T. begins, "since dieing doesn't matter, and only fading really does, I think I have a plan."
I.T. takes out a gun. "The only way to develop your ability," he explains, "is to use it. Ready kiddo?"
"Ready," I reply. I.T. fires his gun. I render his projectile noncanon and it goes through me."
"God dammit kid!" I.T. sighs, "don't move. You're flickering."
No. Froget it. If it keeps happening over and over, maybe it's just meant to be. Maybe this is how my story is meant to end. "Froget it," I reply, "you're The End right? You should know my story should be over anyways. Thanks for your help I.T., but it's over."
And here's my font! It's I.T. here, and I prefer not to have a font since that book but this kid... I hurt The Kin. I hurt my new creation, but just once, I want to be a father. Without a ship, and with all my creations being used to destroy the canon timeline this kid is the closest thing to a son I have. Besides I only care about destroying the canon. All I have to do is destroy the canon story once and for all to achieve my goals. As long as he doesn't go there, he doesn't have to die, and I won't let his story end here. What do I do? Think, you're the end, can't you prevent the end? Thiiiiiiiiiink!
I got it! Now, what I'm about to do sounds really really bad, but hear me out. I shoot and kill Uncannoned. I grab his soul and take it to my lab. I dunk it in mana repairing it. He's gonna revive any minute now. I don't think I can handle this alone. He seemed a lot more emotionally stable with Null judging by his aura. Guess he just gets along with the others better. I grab my cell and call Null.
I near Evil's lab, only to have my cell ring. I answer. "Hello?" I greet.
"Drop whatever you're doing," I.T. demands, "Uncannoned almost faded. Being made of dark mana, this isn't exactly something I can handle. Now, he's stable right now, but I don't think he should stay with me. Can you pick him up? Quickly?"
"You know I don't like telaporting," I remind, "always makes me think about the incident..."
"I understand," I.T. replies, "but it's important."
"Fine," I sigh, "I'm on it. Just, give me a second to sit down after I arrive."
"Sure," I.T. replies.
I telaport. I have a vision of something that won't be graced with a description, but when I arrive I find myself shaking uncontrollably. I need to take a moment to collect my thoughts. After I regain composure I go inside.
I.T. holds the soul. They hold it delicately, like I've never seen them do before. They actually show an interest in keeping Uncannoned alive.
"What exactly happened?" I ask.
"He just sorta, quit," I.T. explains, "just sat down and began flickering. Wouldn't let me save him. Had to kill him and put his soul in some mana. Listen, he seemed more... Emotionally stable with you. Take the soul. He can come by anytime."
"Thanks," I reply. I begin to leave, but my curiosity gets the better of me and I decide to ask about I.T.'s research.
"What exactly are you researching?" I ask.
"Nothing you need to worry about," they smile, "it'll all make sense soon. Just do me a favor, and make sure he never learns of it. I want what's best for him, and if he learns of my research... I've seen that ending and there is a 99% chance that I erase him. I don't want that. Listien, just, keep him safe OK?"
I've never seen I.T. show so much concern for a character. I know it isn't a romantic attraction, they're into feminine beings. So what gives? Best not pry. They don't really open up like this much. Don't wanna scare them into being closed off again.
"I promise," I reply, "he won't be erased on my watch."
I take a deep breath and telaport home. Uncannoned already begins to reform. His astral projection reappearing, flickering into existence. I set him down on my couch, pushing his hair out of his face. He's so cute, and he looks so peaceful as he sleeps. I wanna hug him, I want to understand his pain, but all I know is that he destroyed his world. I don't know how or why. I only know about his future goals.
I lean in. This is probably a bad idea. Like, a really really bad idea, but I lean in and kiss him on the cheek. "Rest well," I smile. Knowing he's gonna be starving when he awakens, I go into my kitchen and begin to bake a batch of cookies...
