This schedule is adapted from the official ONC book, as the core of this festival will for the most part follow the ONC structure.

NONC festivities with set timelines will be added to this schedule as they are organized.

February 1st: The ONC prompts go live, and festivities begin! Pick a prompt (or several) and start planning, writing, or both. The NONC cross-promo will officially kick off. Because Feb 1st is a Tuesday, our first book-building discussion topic will also go live on this day.

February 2nd: Our first weekly check-in will be posted. Check-ins will continue on Wednesdays for the rest of the festival.

February 1st – February 28th: Round one writing. Write and post at least 2k words of your novella, and submit it via our NONC form by the deadline below to enter into the first-round NONC prize draw.

February 28th: The first round of the ONC (and thus NONC) closes at 23:59 pm (GMT). 

Before March 3rd: Chucks mods will announce the winner of the first-round NONC prize draw.

March 15th: The ONC will announce which entries will be moving on to Round II of that contest. 

March 1st – March 31st: Round two writing. Write and post at least 8k words of your novella, and submit it via our NONC form by the deadline below to enter into the second-round NONC prize draw.

March 31st: The second round of the ONC (and thus NONC) closes at 23:59 pm (GMT). 

Before April 3rd: Chucks mods will announce the winner of the second-round NONC prize draw.

April 20th: The ONC will announce which entries will be moving on to Round III of that contest. We cheer for anyone who entered and made it this far!

April 1st – April 30th: Round three writing. Finish your novella, and submit it via our NONC form by the deadline below to enter into the final NONC prize draw.

April 30th: The third round of the ONC (and thus NONC) closes at 23:59 pm (GMT). 

Before May 3rd: Chucks mods will announce the winner of the big, final NONC prize draw!

May 20th: The ONC will announce its Longlist. We cheer for anyone who entered and made it this far!

May 30th: The ONC will announce its Shortlist. More cheering, obviously, because shortlisting is a Big Deal.

June 30th: The ONC will announce its grand prize winners. We wrap out our NONC festivities.
