NTB Oneshot #2
This isn't even the entirety of what I wrote for this but I've been putting it off long enough. Plus if I keep going it's gonna be a whole mini book-
Unlike the other unfinished one, this is canon to the post-story events.
Basically Dayan, Luci, and Moon Al went to Earth to visit Akik.

I stepped out of the spaceship and immediately noticed a difference in temperature compared to Xero. It was definitely warmer here than it was back home, probably with Earth so close to this system's central star. There wasn't much flora or fauna around, besides some small beige creatures with long ears and thin fur. I tried to pick one up, but it fearfully darted away. Their movements were like small pounces.
I looked around where we had landed. The ground was soft and light, and my feet sank into it. Not too far away was a large hill with a big white building, a partially destroyed town below it - though it was obvious rebuilding was in progress. I saw some tall trees - or they looked like trees - some distance away. They were green, unlike Xero's plant life.
"Are you sure we're in the right place?"
I turned to see Luci in the door of the ship, her hand gripping the side of the open door.
"I think so," I replied, "These are the coordinates Akik gave me."
Before Akik had left Xero, Akik had given me the coordinates to the general area he lived in on Earth. This was because I had promised to visit him multiple times over, both since I was still guilty about my behavior when he had returned and because I was worried for him.
"You're absolutely sure?" Luci questioned again, "There's no one here."
"Maybe he's out somewhere." Because space travel works different with time, we couldn't give Akik an exact date for when we would arrive. He could be anywhere right now.
Although I assume he'd at least notice the fairly large spaceship landing a mile or so away from his most possible location.
"Should we look for him?"
Moon had come from the spaceship door as well, her star-shaped eyes darting around, taking in the new scenery.
"I could try to contact him," I said. I grabbed a small, tablet-looking object from my pocket and pressed a few buttons. It gave a small static noise, but nothing seemed to be working.
"Well, zait," I said in annoyance, putting the device away. "Guess it doesn't work here."
"How does it work hundreds of light years away, but not from within a few miles?" Luci asked.
"Well, these things are more made for long-distance communication," I shrugged. "Or maybe it's just Earth's atmosphere."
"Neither of those make sense."
"You got a better explanation?"
"No."
"Exactly."
I scanned the surroundings again, hoping to see at least one of the humans that Akik had brought to Xero multiple (Earth) months ago, but the surroundings were still barren of anything but the small bouncing creatures.
"Should we search for him?" Luci questioned.
"I don't know," I said, "If he's in the middle of something, I don't wanna interrupt him."
Luci chuckled. "You mean if he's with Blaza?"
"Shut up, that's not what I meant," I growled.
"Come on, it's no secret you were crushing on him," Luci said, amused.
"I said shut up!" I said, a bit flustered now.
"Alright, let's not argue about this!" Moon cut in (although it was obvious that she, too, was trying not to laugh).
I glared at Luci, who was still smiling innocently at me, before saying, "Let's just look around the area, and see if we can find him. Meet back here by sundown."
"I'll stay and watch the ship," Moon volunteered.
"Good idea," I nodded, "But since we apparently can't communicate with these things-" I pulled the communication device out again, "-if you need help, fly up high so we can see you."
"Okay," Moon nodded, before heading back into the ship.
"See you at sundown?" Luci said.
"Alright," I said. Luci flew off towards the big hill, and I headed to the thicker forest area.
————
A small clearing marked the place for a small grouping of houses, with what looked like a pit with some kind of strong structure in the middle.
I landed there, hoping that one of the humans would be there. No one was in the clearing when I got there, and that fact didn't change as I wandered around.
I decided to check out the structure in the middle.
The structure was made from a hard, black-purple rock (I think it was called obsidian or something like that). There wasn't really an immediate entrance, except for a hole in the top. The inside contained a bed and a hole in the ground containing water. About as boring as the outside.
Wonder what this is used for... I thought.
Suddenly, I felt myself stiffen. A cold ice feeling crept up my spine.
I knew that feeling.
I closed my eyes quickly, and I felt myself dive into my subconscious. Someone was grabbing my arm, and I yanked them forwards. I heard a yelp as the figure came crashing to the ground in front of me.
"I'm sorry! Please don't kill me!" The figure pleaded. His voice had an accent that reminded me too much of... Vizor.
"I can't kill spirits, crindni," I growled. I observed the newcomer closely - he seemed to be a green colored ghost, one eye blacked out and his right arm detached, floating just off of his shoulder. He had some kind of mask on, but I could still see his fearful expression.
"Who... are you?" I asked.
"Could ask you the same question," the ghost replied, fear still quivering in his tone.
I let go of him, satisfied that he wasn't much of a threat, and glared at him.
"I'm Dayan."
"Laff."
Laff. I'd heard that name before - I think Akik mentioned him at some point. Something about Vizor stealing his body to walk among the humans or something.
"Sorry I stumbled in here so suddenly," Laff chuckled nervously, "I kinda just fell into you'se."
"Why didn't I see you?" I asked, "I can usually see ghosts."
Laff shrugged. "I know about as much as you do, mate."
I glanced around the empty space, still on edge.
"What's wrong?"
I shook my head. "Sorry. You're voice just... reminds me of someone."
"Vizor, I presume?" Laff asked.
"...yeah."
"I get that a lot nowadays," Laff sighed, "And I don't blame them. We sound similar, and I guess I just picked up some bad habits from him being around."
"How long were you under his influence?" I asked, curious now.
"Couple months, at least," Laff said, "He just kind of appeared in my dreams, and soon in the physical world. He was the reason I built L4FF. I was confident that I was helping my friends by making it. Then he did something to it, and... it all went downhill from there."
"Huh," I replied. I didn't know what L4FF was, but I had heard the name - presumably from one of the humans at some point. I would have asked, but I could see that Laff was already uncomfortable with the conversation.
Laff changed the subject. "So, what brings you to Earth? I assume you're a friend of Akik's?"
"Yes, actually," I replied, "We came to visit, but couldn't find him. I was looking for him when you stumbled into my brain."
Laff chuckled nervously. "Yeah, sorry again about that."
"No worries, all's forgiven."
Laff seemed to cheer up from that.
Laff froze, and I could tell he was looking into the physical world. "I think Akik's found you, actually."
"Really?" I said. Have we been in here that long?
"You should probably take back control. He looks worried. Along with some others... I'm assuming they're friends of yours."
"Probably."
I nodded. "It was nice to meet you, Laff. I hope we meet again."
"You too!" Laff said cheerfully. He gave me a nod goodbye before he disappeared out of my mind.
