By the time, Slayer had returned from their excursion, the heavens had finally given up on their sleetshower. They settled for a new style instead-disgusting murky, heavy clouds that set the world in somber grey mood that went perfect with the wet, dirty snow slush on the streets.

The white felidae pushed through the wet frost that nipped at their paw pads and wiggled their whiskers, beads of water falling to the ground. Slayer couldn't wait to get back to the others, in the temporary den they had occupied in the City Gardens.

They seemed more crowded lately, with felidae looking for shelter from the cold and the walkers. The Gardens were vast enough to share, regardless.

Or so it seemed.

As Slayer approached the Gardens, a worrying amount of felidae lingered at the arched entrances. The tension and anxiety in the crowd was clear from far away and Slayer sped up as worry began to nip at their tail.

The apprehension in their heart eased as the rest of the Union felidae came into their view. Maiden and Lola stood at their paws with flicking tails as Pip paced, a small path cleared in the slush from his visible worry. Bucky brought up the flanks of the group, a small marbled kitten hiding in his large fluffy mass.

Slayer called to them as they approached, butting their littermate's shoulder in a curt greeting and quickly inquired, "What's happening? What're these felidae doing?"

"We've been kicked out! Some fleabags came and started rushing others out!" Maiden growled, ivory fur raising with her anger.

"...They're an Alliance like us," Lola chimed in, her pretty grey facade twisting with clear fraught, "They're coordinated and strong. The felidae that didn't make it out in time..."

The silence swept over them as she trailed off made her point clear. Jax mewed in confusion and his fluffy caretaker hushed him.

"They called themselves 'The Empire'..." Pip added momentarily, his pacing finally over, "The tom that was giving commands had glowing eyes."

Lola flinched, but it happened too quickly to see for certain. It couldn't be...

"Let's get out of here before they come back. I need to tell you all about what I found," Slayer suggested.

The young Alliance then disappeared until the uncertain night.
