The red-and-white tom tried to keep his focus on the increasingly blurry shapes around him despite his mind beginning to wander away to a higher calling. He didn't want to do this right now.

They never had anything to say to him that he wanted to hear. Ever since this gift emerged, it had been nothing but trials and tribulations. Running away from it only seemed to make Them chase him even harder.

Regardless, he couldn't bring himself to curse his father after all this time. No one would willingly choose to be an errand boy to the Ancestors if they could help it.

Ibis finally felt himself be swept away into the endless abyss that was the heavenly stars above and when he finally returned after what felt like mere moments yet eternal centuries later, the words so heedfully given to him fell from his mouth like a drop of dew falling back to earth.

"In only two moons time, calamity will befall us all."

He stood to his weak paws as felidae rushed to help him.
