May 11, 2018 photography set: dusk photography
Well...I haven't updated this in a while, have I? Nope...didn't think so. Lol. Here we go...
So, this was actually the last shot that I took. It is a portrait of the clouds around dusk. Which, in my area is now around 9:30 PM...yay!!
Well, as you can see, this is the fourth of five photographs that I took...it clearly shows the gradient of the dark shadowy ground at the horizon meeting the light blue sky that then transitions into some upper-level clouds, that from there transfer into a darker and darker shade of sky. I think this one is pretty cool. How about you??
Well...this one really doesn't show much, so I am not even sure why I put it in. I was attempting to get a view of the upper-level southwestern/southern boundary sky, and hopefully get a couple of stars in there, but I don't think my ipad lens was strong enough to get through the fuzz of the atmosphere to get a descent picture. Oh well...I tried ;-).
This image is similar to that of the second photo in this set because it shows the color gradient from lower west to upper west, but it also shows the color gradient between northwest and direct west. This time of year, the sun sets more towards the northwest than the direct west, making dusk settle more in that direction creating cool stuff like this that people living between 35°South of the equator, to 35°North of the equator don't really get to experience.
So this image was facing the exact same way as the second photograph in this set, the only difference is that I angled this one more so the horizon would be closer to the center of the photo instead of nearer to the bottom. I did this to get the clouds more level and focused, which I think I successfully pulled off.
