It was the day. The day. The fest had begun, and people were getting seated for the play. The auditorium had been decorated by the Decor team of the Literature department, and the props had been made by the backstage workers of the play's team. Ava peeked from behind the curtain, the stage dark and barely any light in the auditorium, and then she pushed the curtain to its place again. 

Turning to the actors dressing up backstage, she observed how the girls in the play's team were doing everyone's makeup, setting their hair, and Ava adjusted her gown, her makeup having been settled before anyone else's, since she was the first one who had to be presented on the stage. 

She walked further in backstage, and saw that Minho was getting his hair done. She chuckled, "Ah, Lee Minho the actor!" 

"Please. This lipstick is so heavy on my lips," Minho groaned, and then an idea struck his mind. He pulled her by her wrist, and then pressed his lips to her in a chaste kiss. She was obviously stunned, but as he parted, he smirked, "It feels lighter now."

"You...!" Ava was speechless, and he chuckled in amusement, "Cute." 

"If you guys are done smooching, please help," the two heard Jisung's voice, and they turned to face Juliet -- wearing a long dress along with a loud blush, red lipstick, and a long-haired wig on his head. Ava and Minho shared a look, and then began laughing loudly. 

"Come onnnn!" Jisung whined, "Fix my wig, Ava." 

"Of course, girlie," she snickered, fixing his wig correctly and attaching the extensions securely. 

"You're laughing at me? Wait till you see Chan." 

"Oh, yeah! Where's The Nurse?" Minho's ears perked up. 

And not even a minute later, a sulky Chan came walking in, wearing a white, long nurse's dress, a wig of white hair on his head. The problem was not the wig; it was the outfit, because it was obviously a size too short, and so, his big tiddies and biceps were threatening to rip out of the dress any given second. 

"Seungmin really chose the perfect man to act as The Nurse," Ava laughed, unable to stop herself. 

Changbin and Chan had not stopped sulking since the previous night, and the frown on their faces had settled in permanently. 

"Guys!" Jeongin, Seungmin, and Felix walked in backstage, and cheered for the play. Felix energized, "You are the moment, guys! Seize the stage, rock it, burn it, and do well! We're proud of each one of you!" 

"Let's goooo!" 

"Cheers to Romeo and Juliet GenZ!"

The stage lit up, and the curtains parted, and the spotlight fell on Ava standing on an otherwise-dark stage, and she noticed that Jisung's parents were in the audience, too. She breathed in. And then, she began, 

Narrator (Ava): "Two houses, stranded amidst Verona,

The plight of our students, so we lay our scene;

This era was never affected by Corona,

A play like this, thou hasn't yet seen.

The story of star-crossed lovers and their lives,

Their aspirations that their love designs;

Oh, more than the amicable high-fives,

From homies to homos — this tale intertwines.

Here, we proclaim, our Juliet is a man,

Even though we call her a pretty 'she';

Love is blind, love has no gendered plan,

Therefore, we let the decision be." 

The crowd erupted in a light chuckle, clapping for her, and so, the show commenced. Ava delivered the rest of her lines, and the spotlight deserted her to fall on the rest of the actors in the scene. She scurried back inside, in a dilemma to tell Jisung about his parents being in the audience. However, she chose against it, just not to diminish his spirit. 

Instead, she walked over to Minho, and whispered to him, "Jisung's parents are here!" 

"What the fuck? I thought they disowned them after what happened!" he whispered back, stunned. 

"Don't tell Hyun or Jisung, okay?" 

"Alright..." 

Meanwhile, the actors were busy acting their guts out on the stage.

Benvolio (Jake): Bro, the fuck is up with you these days? Come home, Mommy Montague is worried sick!

Romeo (Hyunjin): Rosaline rejected me! (cries)

Benvolio (Jake): Really? Just find another girl.

Romeo (Hyunjin): (groans) If not Rosaline, then no one else!

Benvolio (Jake): Dude, touch some grass and get over her.

Romeo (Hyunjin): Nope, I think not.

Benvolio (Jake): Uh-huh? Challenge accepted. 

The curtains hit the stage again, and Ava dashed onto the stage behind the curtains, prepared to deliver her next dialogues.

One would imagine that Hyunjin might have seen Jisung's parents in the crowd, but our Great Sire Hwang Hyunjin had forgotten what those parents looked like. Kudos to our goldfish. 

As the scenes passed by, it was time for Jisung and Chan to debut on the stage. The spotlights fell on them, and the audience hooted at Chan. We can also imagine that the girls in the audience wanted to squish their heads in Chan's tiddies. Wait, who said that? 

Anyways... 

Mommy Capulet: Hey, Miss Nurse, stay here while I counsel Juliet for her marriage.

The Nurse (Chan): Ma'am? She's, like, thirteen.

Mommy Capulet: (sighs) Patriarchy.

[Enter Juliet]

As soon as Jisung entered, the boys hooted. God, boys are weird.  

Juliet (Jisung): Yeah, you called, mum?

Mommy Capulet: So I was going to-

The Nurse (Chan): (randomly laughs) Hahahahaha, remember that time when Juliet was six and a forty year old dude tried to marry her? Such a pedo, am I right? Imagine if your mum tells you that you're gonna be married now. Such a wild thought, hahaha!

Juliet (Jisung): LOL, I know right?

Mommy Capulet: (glared at The Nurse) Anyways, I was gonna tell you that you're gonna get married soon. 

The audience gasped. These idiots have probably never read or watched Romeo and Juliet, and it shows. 

The show continued, and because this chapter is getting a little long, let's continue in the next one. This just shows that the author is good at planning, strategizing, and organizing.
