Cold.

That was the first wave that had greeted her when Stella slowly came to her senses. Her surroundings were a blinding white as she slowly blinked into vision. The ground beneath her was soft, cloud like almost, and a wave of guilt immediately flooded her when it clicked inside her mind where she could possibly be.

"You have committed a grave mistake, Noir," a voice boomed behind her as Stella slowly lifted her head to view the conversation.

"Loving is not a mistake." His voice, his melodious voice in which Stella had fallen hopelessly in love with, resounded across the hallways. It was then had she noted that the two speakers were behind a semi-closed door. A small crack was split in between, allowing a space for her to look through.

"You were created for the sole purpose of bringing light many eons ago. And yet, you disobeyed me, hence your current predicament. Now, you have let me down again, my son."

Noir did not reply, and Stella bit her lip from the intensity of the situation.

"I created the girl to replace you in regards to this celestial haven. And now you have corrupted her. You have brought darkness into her day-"

"As she has brought light into my night."

"Nevertheless, you destroyed the brightness of her day."

"I showed her the world you banned her to see. Why is it that you keep tearing people apart, father?"

That was the most Stella had ever heard Noir speak. He spoke silently, more with his actions rather than his words. On the rare occasions he did, his voice reflected the beauty of the light. Smooth and silky, it was also light and feather-like. It warmed Stella's heart much more than her days ever could.

"Love brings pain. And that is unavoidable."

"But what if I want to suffer? What if i don't mind the pain just so I can have a moment's worth of happiness?"

"Then you are foolish," the loud booming voice resonated the area.

With a racing heartbeat, Stella sunk to the ground as a warmth and sticky substance flooded the left side of her dress. A red scarlet was oozing out, seeping into the fabric of her clothing as dots began to fill her vision.

"Love is but a thousand knives. They pierce through your heart, and is unforgiving."
