Hereditary sins

•☆☆Holding on to anger is like grasping a hot coal with the intent of throwing it at someone else; you are the one who gets burnt. ~Buddha☆☆•

Muscular arms slammed me into the rough bark of the munondo tree causing it to scrape my soft skin. Hatred pooled into his eyes as he pressed the blade against my throat, a sinister smile crawling onto his lips.

"You." He sneered, his hot breath fanned my face causing me to freeze in fear. 'Me?' What had I done to the man that loomed threateningly over me? His face was marred, jaggered scars littered his ebony coloured face. I began to wonder why I had chosen to wander through the forrest without Azile.

His knife pressed further against my throat, his eyes narrowed at me. "Your father took my family from me. He took everything. The blood that runs deep in your veins belongs to that monster." His words sliced through me as my thoughts brought forth the answer to my question. 'Makhosi was telling the truth.'

Yet anger seared through my veins, I would not allow him to slander my father, he could have done anything but that. The rage that coursed through me caused my knee to ram into his stomach. His large frame doubled over in pain as his grip fell from my shoulders allowing me to escape him.

My legs pounded against the forrest floors as I frantically searched for the path that lead me home. My heart was knocking fiercely against my chest, there was no path. I was lost.

A warm hand immediately covered my mouth muffling my screams as the icy blade plunged into my thigh causing pain to flood through me. He was going to kill me.

My teeth instinctively sunk into his rough skin, a yelp of pain escaped him before he ripped out the blade. My body fell to the floor, a pool of blood surrounding me as I screamed for help.

His crimson blade rested against my neck once again. His snarl was now replaced with a toothy grin as the tip of the knife pierced through my skin tracing its path from my jaw to my collar bone. Beads of blood began to seep from my skin, trailing down my throat effortlessly.

My eyes wandered searching for some sort of weapon until they landed upon a decently sized rock. I reached for it just barely grasping it with my hand, before I swung it at his head. He moaned in pain before his body went limp.

"Someone help me, please." My horse voice cried out, the red metallic liquid gushing out from my open wound. A dull ache spread through my head as the trees began to spin.

Moments later I felt my body being hoisted from the forrest floor. "My queen, please hold on." The ternor voice pleaded as he dashed towards my home.
