~Walking in the Air~
(Wendy's POV)
Peter walked away from the window, and towards me.
He smiled tightly, "We should head back down. The Beltane Festival will be starting soon, and your ladies in waiting will doubtless be searching for you."
"I have ladies in waiting?!" I exclaimed.
"Get used to it princess." He smirked.
I snorted.
Peter ran his fingers though his hair, and walked to the door.
"I want to show you something." He extended his hand to me.
I sighed heavily and accepted his hand. He pulled me to him and smiled.
"Stand on my feet." He ordered.
"Pardon?!" I exclaimed.
Peter snaked an arm around me and pulled me towards him.
"Go on." he encouraged me.
I sighed and did as he bid me.
"Perfect." He smiled reaching into a drawstring bag that hung from his belt. "Now hold still."
I looked up and watched as Peter pulled the glowing dust out and sprinkled it over my head.
My head immediately felt lighter, the gentle dust sending a pleasant tingling sensation down my face and neck.
"Pixie dust." Pan said by way of explanation.
I nodded awkwardly.
And then I felt it.
The weightlessness began to spread to my toes and I watched in nervous fascination as Peter and I left the roof far below us. I clung tighter to him and he chuckled.
"Well I'm glad you're finding this amusing!" I exclaimed.
"You can get off my feet now." Peter replied with a smirk.
My eyes widened as I looked up at him in horror. "No way! Not happening."
Pan grinned, "I wasn't asking, I was telling."
And with that Peter shoved me away from him.
I screamed, my eyes shutting immediately as I braced myself to fall.
...
but I didn't.
I hung in the air.
After a moment I managed to peel my eyes open.
Peter stood silhouetted by the moon, hands on his hips, with a cocky grin smeared all over his face.
"Peter you absolute!-"
"Wendy..." Peter Interrupted. "You're flying."
The thought stopped the words from tumbling out of my mouth.
A giggle burst out of me.
Peter froze.
"What?" I asked.
"I've never heard you laugh before." Peter replied almost reverently.
Peter shook his head before I could respond and flew over to me, grabbing arm gently.
"Come on, I want you to see the village before we head back to the castle."
That night as we hung suspended in the air over the village, watching as the people streamed out of their houses, dressed for revelry. Peter and I enjoyed the quiet and peace, and a new feeling began to blossom within my heart.
Seeing how Peter was with the villagers, greeting them all by name, laughing and making playful jokes with them. He wasn't my captor anymore.
Suddenly he was just a boy,
Forced into difficult circumstances. And against my better judgment. I empathized with him.
His joy was a mask but he had shown me his true heart. And it ached for his dying father.
"Come Wendy. We should prepare ourselves for this fine party."
Hooking my arm through his, we slowly rose into the sky.
I watched as we left the village, heading back towards the castle that glowed against the backdrop of the purple mountains.
I watched Peter's hair be ruffled by the wind. And marvelled at how my life had changed.
"Peter." I surprised myself by saying.
"Yes Wendy?"
"Have you ever..." I trailed off.
"What?"
"Have you ever been in love?" I whispered.
Peter stopped in the air causing me to stop abruptly with him.
His eyes darkened. "I thought it was obvious."
He sighed, then resumed flying again, bringing us up higher. We burst through the clouds and the full moon shone on his face, illuminating him and the cloud. It looked like snow.
"Wendy, have you ever been in love?" He retaliated.
I looked down at the cloud below us, my face beginning to heat.
Oh!
How could I have forgotten him?
Finn.
"Wendy?"
I couldn't meet Peter's eyes.
"Of course, your rescuer. Back at the diner." Peter's voice was strained.
He unhooked his arm from mine, and flew a little bit away from me.
"I'm sorry." I said, but I wasn't sure quite what I was apologizing for.
Peter sighed and turned away from me.
I watched his back, wishing I could take back my question.
I was startled when he spoke...
"I don't believe in fate. But somehow I knew when I first saw you, that we were meant to be together." Peter whispered.
My throat dried.
Peter turned back to me, his smile returning full force.
"Now granted, I did some searching, I looked everywhere in Nodnot for my princess... I had almost given up hope. And then I found you... Quite by chance." He smiled in fond remembrance "-But that's a story for another day. Let us return."
Peter grabbed my arm and we flew in silence for the remainder of our journey to the castle.
He dropped me off at the balcony and gently rested his forehead on mine before flying off.
I took a steadying breath and before I could process what had happened, there were ladies maids pulling me into my room to get ready. The Beltane Festival awaited me.

Tinkerbell paced the birdcage, glaring at the raven haired girl in the doorway.
"Thank you gentlemen, that will be all." Snow White smiled at the guards dismissively.
With a smile that they could not hide, they nodded to the tiny girl, and quickly left the room.
"Ah, and now us girls can talk." Snow smiled approaching the cage.
"I'd love to chat you silly child, but I have a very important mission." Tink sassed, flicking a piece of her hair over her shoulder.
Snow blinked, and nodded. "I agree. That's what I wanted to talk to you about."
"What?!" Tink snarled.
"I have something to give you. And! I have a plan." Snow's eyes sparkled.
Tinkerbell forced her face into a look of interest, whilst taking stock of the room.
There was a skylight open. And the fresh air swirled the drapes in Snow's room.
All she needed to do was escape this cage.
Freedom called.
But curiosity beckoned.
Tink bit her lip. "Go on then, tell me about this plan."
"I can give you a disguise but you'd have to go out on foot. Granted it would take longer, but it's the only way we can be sure you won't be followed." Snow replied seriously.
Tink popped her hands on her hips, cocking her head to the side. "And what do we do then? Allow your mother to amass an army?!"
"Trust me this is the only way." Snow replied.
Tink weighed her choices. But it was no contest.
She nodded. "As you say. Now let me out."
The girl opened the cage, and before it was fully open Tink was halfway to the open skylight.
"No!" Snow exclaimed, as she rushed to the window and watched the pixie fly off into the darkness.
But Tink was a woman on a mission, and time was of the essence.
...
Little did Tink know that the Evil Queen had foreseen her step-daughter's betrayal.
Seraphina's army waited, ready to spread it's dark tendrils into the heart of Neverland.

After a long day of walking, Manuel and Finnegan approached the trees near the bank of the Neverland Lagoon.
"We stop here." The Doctor announced.
Finn resisted the urge to face-plant into the soft sand, instead peeling off his shoes and socks.
He pulled his face into a grimace, blisters had begun to form.
Finn was very glad he had chosen to wear trainers this morning.
"Finnegan, why don't you make yourself useful and get us some wood for a fire.
"Yes sir." Finn replied, dragging his feet as he searched the shoreline for driftwood.
Finn had not picked up more than a few twigs when
A most lovely song floated toward him on the salty breeze.
"Finnegan~"
Finn froze.
His fingers twitched, "Who's there?" He called.
"Finnnnnegannnn~"
The timber fell out of his arms, as Finn trudged towards the water's edge.
"Hello?" He called out.
A soft feminine voice answered. "Hello~"
It sounded like the voice was on the other side of the giant grey rock.
Finn rounded the corner, the wet sand sticking to his feet.
A raven haired beauty blinked up at him, her lashes dripping with water from the lagoon.
"What are you doing out here all alone?" Finn asked, scanning the shoreline for anyone else.
"Oh, I'm not here alone." She replied calmly.
"You aren't?"
"My sisters are all here, would you like to meet them?" Her voice was smooth as honey.
"S-sure." Finn flushed.
The woman reached up towards him and Finn took her outstretched hand.
She smiled at him, shark-like teeth glittering, and her grip tightened as she pulled him under the water.
With hardly enough time to let out an undignified yelp. Finn fell into the water.
He struggled against her, trying to kick her off with his feet, but she evaded every blow. Dragging him deeper still. And soon, her sisters joined her, securing his legs and other arm.
Finn writhed, water filling his nose and mouth. His lungs began to burn.
And his legs began to get heavier,
and heavier.
Until a sort of peace settled over him.
He stared at the beautiful women until his vision started to blacken around the edges.
And then the darkness claimed him.
