Chapter 38: I'm in a trial?

Not my pic but very cool.

"Man, I thought the Muscle god was bigger," I complained

"Why would you worry about that? Not the actual problem?!" Noctis said in frustration knowing that is my answer, I shrugged my shoulders and we hear voices. My eyes spotted Gladiolus climbing down to reach us.
"Noct! Alice! Are alright?" Ignis shouted from above us and Noct replied,

"Yeah, we're alright."

"I'm coming down!" Gladiolus shouted back as he slid down from the last ledge, he landed on his feet but I could tell that it hurt from such a height.

"Thank heavens, you're safe. Is there a way back up?" Ignis asked as Noctis shook his head while looking up at the damaged ground, then his eyes saw a path in front of us and said,

"No, there is a path. Gonna see where it leads."

"You two try to find a way down," Gladiolus said as he waved to Prompto and Ignis, he signal to go left their way.

"Very well, we'll look for a way. Be careful." Ignis said

"You too," Noctis replied

"What?! We're going where?!" Prompto shouted in confusion of the situation and what the plan was.

Noctis, Gladiolus and I started to walk down the lava rock path.

"Don't rush on your own, huh?" Gladiolus stated

"Don't get left behind," Noctis replied back as we continued to walk, my left hand still felt the numbing pain and twitched. Noctis saw this action and came to me.

"Wise guy," Gladiolus retorted back

"Boys, shut u-grrrr...." My words were interrupted by the pain on my left hand as blood still continued to drip from my skin and Noctis came to me.

"Oh God Alice, did that happen when we fell?" he immediately asked as I just nodded while breathing in and out of the pain.

"Let's wrap your hand before it gets infected, Alice," Gladiolus said as Noctis tore some fabric from his jacket, his hand wrapped the cloth around my left hand and asked,

"You feeling alright, kid? That was a dangerous move you did but it saved Noctis's life."

"I'm feeling fine, Tattoo man. Let's get out of here before Muscle God does something." I said

"Ok, let me know when your hand hurts more, ok? In the meantime, don't use that hand until Ignis looks at it." Noctis said firmly to me as I nodded; not willing to argue about the situation. We continued to walk on the path as we saw some movement with Muscle God but not a great vision since the vision is slightly dark and very hot. The flames were giving off heat making feel very dry which was unusual. I felt very...thirsty and my vision is slightly blacking out.

Goddamnit...Since I'm human, if I stay in the heat longer, I could faint...

We saw some monsters trying to kill us but Gladiolus urged us to pass them for now. The heat is getting to all us if we don't find some cool air. We kept running down the path to get out of this heated tunnel that was getting me by the second. We stopped running to see the end of the path as Noctis cursed under his breath, Gladiolus pointed out a different path but one problem: it's a very narrow path and a very long drop.

"No room for error," Gladiolus said as he started to move along the narrow path.

"No room to chill either, make it quick," Noctis said as Gladiolus was a good distance, Noctis started to copy the same movements and Noctis waved to me to start. I nodded my head and leaned on the back of the rock. My feet started to move to the right side as I was closer to Noctis, he took my right hand and we moved to together. Midway of the dangerous ledge, the ground began to shake and Gladiolus shouted,

"Tremors, hang on, you two!"

We stood still as the tremors were getting stronger, Noctis said his head hurts and I raised an eyebrow at a theory. The headaches, tremors and Muscle God were somehow connected. After the tremor ended, we continued to move again however Noctis is beginning to slow down. There were more tremors as Noctis complained about his head, the rock in front of us collapsed to reveal a hand trying to grab something or someone.

"Hey, Titan! What is the big idea!?" Noctis shouted in frustration

Is Noctis...talking to the Muscle God?

"Save it! Let's get to solid ground first!" Gladiolus shouted to get his attention instead of the Muscle God

"Faster!" Noctis complained as his hand still held mine and we continued to follow Gladiolus.

"Calm down. I'm going as fast as I can." Gladiolus said as he continued to lead, Titan's hand is trying to find us and Gladiolus got to the scorched tree. Noctis and I got close to Gladiolus as Noctis let go of my hand, he swung Noctis to the ground ledge and swung me next. After we both made it to the ground ledge, Gladiolus jumped on the ledge as well after Titan's hand destroyed the narrow path. We all got up to see Titan's face after his hand moved away and his eyes were...not welcoming. As if I was staring at a mirror that could crack and myself would crack as well.

Grand Master of Insomnia...You don't belong in this trial!

Trial? I thought

Grand Master of Insomnia, you don't belong here! You are interfering!!

Wait...Is this Muscle God talking to me?

Well shit...

We started to move again as I tuned out Gladiolus and Noctis's conversation, my mind is trying to get answers from Titan but he keeps repeating the same words to me. What joy. We found a hole that we slid under and made it to a semi-quiet area.

"I'm sick of this endless walking..." Noctis complained as he is out of breath with the heat around us

"And I'm sick of your endless whining. Calm the hell down." Gladiolus said as he grabbed him by the collar, my eyes saw the boys and thought,

Are they going to fight here?
