We clashed into each other with his sword meeting my fist as he raised a brow in amusement and swung his sword again. In return of the swing, my fist blocked the incoming attack and we began our sword dance. It was blow to blow with my fist not feeling pain because my hands were covered in material that is not meant to been seen but hidden. It also helps that I don't feel pain but I have to pretend; damn. My eyes were recording his movement as our fight began with he just charging wasn't enough; I needed more if I was to have a report for Medusa. As my right hand launched at his face, he blocked it with his sword and I used my left leg to strike again. I was asking for too much because he saw my another attack coming and blocked the kick with his other free arm. We both back away from each other as the recruits were getting nervous if the fight is going to go too far and Noctis has his eyes on me worried that I might get hurt in no time with Cor. Gladiolus is observing me in this fight as if he is enjoying a sparring match and seeing my strength. 

"...Hey kid, take those things off your hands and feet now." Cor said as everyone in the room is confused, I raised a brow at him and replied,

"What are you talking about?"

"Do you take me for a fool? I can see those gadgets on your hands and feet, kid. There won't be another warning: Take the gadgets off." Cor said more sternly as everyone's eyes is on me, I let out a small sigh and began to peel off my fake skin on the hands and feet that I had on me since I meet the boys. My fingers lightly peeled away from my hands that revealed a glove that had small sized pebble that were a gray metal that shined and I did the same action to my feet that had same glove like around my foot. Everyone is very lose of what I had on my hands and feet. Many whispered that it looked funny and suspicious. Noctis and Gladiolus had looked at each other. As if speaking in mind, they were guessing on what those were. I took off the glove gadgets and held them out.

"Are you happy now, Cor the Immortal?"

"Very, now we can stop warming up, kid. Take this seriously."

"...Heh, I will. Be prepared, once I let these go; you got no way to run."

"Wouldn't have it any other way, kid." Cor said as he got into a battle stance, I let go of my glove gadgets and it hit the floor giving the ground a shake. Our audience were shocked that thought it was just hand and foot wear. Noctis is just as shock as everyone else with Gladiolus narrowing his eyes at me. Cor and I charged at each other again but this time, we put more power into our charge. Once on impact, we released a wind shock wave that our audience felt and were pushed back a bit. We continued our dance to see who will get the first blow.

Noctis pov

"Damn...Alice is holding her on against Cor." I said as my eyes were still widened from her hands and foot wear that shook the ground at bit. That must been weights but...that heavy when it looks so small? My eyes were keeping track of Alice's graceful movements that seem to match Cor's attacks. Her movements put me into a daze as if I am in a trance of her beauty and fighting spirit. She seem to fly off the ground the way she lifted her feet to counter his attacks and he would attack quickly after they block. Both opponents were lashing out heavy attacks and seeing who can hit who first. 

"Who've thought Cor would have a willing opponent that would fight him." Gladiolus said as he snapped me out of my thoughts, I nodded in agreement and we both hear a whine from behind us. We looked to see it is Prompto whose mouth is hanging in shock and fear. Ignis standing next to him looking at the fight as if nothing is wrong and asked,

"Do I want to know why Alice is fighting Cor?"

"...Well, it started with a staring contest that turned into insults." Gladiolus replied

"Then they decided to duke it out in a fight..." I said as sweat is coming from my face a bit in suspense of them still fighting, Prompto still whining and asked me,

"You didn't stop the fight?! Why, man?!"

"Do you think I can reason with Cor, Prompto?"

"....Point taken..." Prompto stopped whining and shivered in fear of hearing Cor's name

"Hmm, Alice is holding her own against Cor which surprises me." Ignis said

"Really, Ignis? I'm not surprised at all. We all knew Alice is strong but we don't know how strong. If she manages to beat Cor, she is going to be a legend." Gladiolus replied to Ignis as he eyes were still on the fight and hoping she will be okay in this fight.

Reader's pov 

Damn...Ardyn wasn't lying when he said Cor keeps his guard up...Dammit...

For every blow, we block and for every block, we attacked. Our dance came to an end when we pushed back by our heavy attacks. My breath is rapidly gasping for air quietly while Cor remained neutral expression as if he is calculating the next move. Basterd...

"Hmmm, not bad kid. The boys weren't lying when they said you are strong." Cor said as we took a step to the side and we began to circle each other.

"I am strong, Immortal. The stories about you are no joke either. You have managed to block every attack; good." I replied "You won't be disappointment to me unlike my last legend."

"Oh? Who was your last opponent, kid?"

"Hmph, let's just say they weren't fit for their legend. Which begs the questions: Are you worthy of your legend, Immortal?"

"I guess we have to see, kid."

"Yes, we will. I dare you block me again if you value your life." I said as Cor raised a brow in what's to come, I bent both legs in a sitting like position and held my arms apart. My eyes closed to focus on the energy around me as my other set of eyes were online and ready to strike. With my current power online right now, I am at 20% and slowly losing any strength I have; thanks to the bracelet that Ardyn gave me. In my mind, I reminded myself that this is a test run for me and Cor. I don't want to lose the fight but I need to in order to complete my mission. Then my fingers form into a cat-like claw and opened my eyes with determination. I charged at Cor again as he was about to use his sword to defend and my body stopped to spin in full circle. This got Cor's attention after the full circle, both hands hit the sword and I smirked. Suddenly, Cor got shocked with a lightning strike that came from his sword and he is pushed forcefully into the wall. Everyone gasped at what just happened as the smoke cleared, Cor is walking towards still having the lightning strike I did to him earlier and the shock is around him. He charged again as we did our second dance with my lightning strikes that he did feel pain but continued to fight. The people around us whispered many things such as warriors showing their true power or Immortal having problems with me the surprise rookie. Overall, their eyes showed awe and fear. They were shaking in excitement of seeing Cor fighting for real in training and the fear of seeing our true strength frighten them. Noctis and friends were watching the fight as well. They seemed to be observing the fight closely as if determine how strong I am. After many strikes of my lightning strikes we back away from each other and my face still had the smirk of knowing something is coming. We charged at each other again as my hands were ready to strike with lightning, Cor leaped into the air and threw his sword into the air. Confused of what he is up to, my feet leaped into the air and swung one of my lightning strikes. He took the lightning damage as I landed on my feet, he took this opportunity to punch my head and landed on the ground. 

"Damn it, Immortal! You-!!" I couldn't finished my sentence as my vision is blurry, my body felt a bit heavy than usual and my systems were starting to shut down. I didn't start a start down sequence and my power is down to 9%! No way unless he...!!! Damn him!! I charged at him again with gathering all the lightning I had left, he caught his sword and prepared for his attack. I launched my lightning attack as Cor stood his ground and swung his sword releasing a powerful blow with wind. My lightning strike is no more as his attack hit me and I shouted in pretend pain. After the attack, my body went down because of the attack had almost hit my core and my power had reached 0%. Our audience is silent of Cor being the winner as I slowly got up and the crowd is too amazed that I am still standing.

"...Damn...Immortal....I....lost...." I struggled to stand but I wanted to say something to my opponent

"Of course you lost, kid. You were facing me. What were you expecting? To win against me?" Cor asked as he sheathed his sword, I gave him a look and laughed hard. Everyone is looking at me as if I'm crazy or that I lost my head.

"No...I was expecting a loss before a win...Immortal!" I said as my laugh began to die down, my fingers pointed at him and continued,

"Immortal! You are my new rival! Watch your back because I will end you and your legend..." With that said, I let my tiredness get the better of me and I fainted into the darkness. My eyes opened up again to the familiar grid world to find only Medusa alone and I got up.

"Well done, number #1."

"..."

"I know you don't losing well, number #1 but trust me, it's for the greater good and you did well."

"Thank you, here is the report you asked for." I said as I electronically gave her the report in my mind to her phone, she looked at it for a moment and smiled.

"This is good enough for now. I have sent nano machines to mentally repair any damage to your system. I saw the fight, Cor almost damage your core and your sequences. Don't worry, I have installed something different so, that problem doesn't happen again." Medusa said as I nodded and she continued,

"If you do see any kinglavies, don't fight them. Just record them as best you can, we can find other means to get information."

"Ok...how is our king?" I asked out of curiosity

"He's impatience as ever but he is surprisingly being patience for once since you are on a mission. Oh, he says 'don't forget who you belong to ÁSTRÍÐR'."

"I didn't forget." I replied as Medusa nodded, she started to walk until she stopped and turned to look at me

"(f/n),...don't get attached to people. They are evil scums that will use you. Do you understand?"

"...Yes." I said as Medusa left the grid world, I was left alone to think about her last words and curious of the name 'ÁSTRÍÐR'.
