Chapter 1: Your mission
Not my pic; will change soon.
Niflheim.
You can't say you were fond of the city for it's dark secrets and more. How could you when you were created? That's right, created is the word. You were simply made by many scientists and doctors. Therefore, you have no family to speak of and this left a blank space in your mind.
"(f/n), are you in position?"
"...Yes..."
"You have your orders. Do not fail us."
Your feet walked forward to an old church that was out of business for some time but what's inside is what you came for. Your target. Your right hand punched the doors off their hinges and flew to the ground.
"Shit! She's here!"
"Shoot her before she finds it!!"
"Get back, demon!!!"
It was hopeless. Your attackers tried to shoot you but you avoided all the bullets with your own footwork and then ended your attackers' lives with one swipe of your sheathed blade that was labeled "Mors Miles(death knight)". As the attackers' fell to the ground with blood spreading on the marble floor, you walked forward to the leader of the group that was shivering in fear of seeing you and his hands were shaking of holding the gun right. He did fired the gun but the bullet you caught with your fingers and dropped it on the ground. You grabbed the paper files from his hand and put in your pocket. The leader is begging for his life to be spared and it was over. You ended his life with your sheathed blade that went through him and blood started to pour. Your hand pulled your weapon out of him and walked away from the bloody mess. As you exited out of the church, you said,
"It's done."
"Excellent job as always, #1. Return to the castle."
As you walked, your eyes looked up to a full moon tonight with the stars shining in the distance and then you sighed.
Why?...Why is everything unchanging? I don't understand...
You decided to take the long way home or if you can call it that. Your walk was uninteresting as always. There were people walking around with business and fun but their faces were the same: fear. This fear was coming from the current king of Niflheim: Iedolas Aldercapt. You can say his region over the kingdom seemed normal but if you really looked into the kingdom then you would see the evil truth. He has lead his kingdom in power and wealth but the fear spread faster then cells could divide throughout the kingdom. You have no interest in Iedolas but what were you to him? You were his strongest weapon of war and...well, something else too. You weren't sure of the feeling but you knew it was something different. You ignored this 10 year feeling as you walked up to the castle as the guards opened the doors, your feet led you down the darken hallway that was grand in red and black. The maids that were cleaning stopped as you passed by them and they bowed. Their eyes were in fear of seeing you up close-up and they whispered things such as "a monster in a human form" or "a demon from hell". Those things might be true considering what you are but they didn't know the truth. You entered in the grand throne room as you stopped in the middle of the room and spoke,
"I have returned, your majesty."
"Good, I was a little worried when you came back late but it doesn't matter. You are here. Welcome home, my weapon." Iedolas said as he appeared out of the shadows with a wicked grin on his face as always with his assistant that was behind him and he stopped in front of you
"Did you get it?"
You handed the king the documents you recovered and he looked over the documents. Then he gave the papers to his assistant and he left the throne room. This left you and King Iedolas alone.
"I'm happy you recovered the documents. They think betraying me and escaping would work. Pfft, what weak people. Don't you agree, number #1?" Iedolas asked as my head nodded in agreement and he continued,
"Well, no matter. I have control over this kingdom and it will be more powerful with that item in my home. Which brings me to your latest assignment."
Your brow raise slightly in curiosity.
"However, this won't be like your last missions before. This will be very different, number #1. Your mission is to kill the Lucian prince: Noctis Luis Caluem. He is the last bloodline of the Caluem family."
"I understand." As I was about to go, Iedolas stopped me by grabbing my shoulder and turned my face forcibly to look at him.
"Hold on, number #1. Your mission is to kill him but I have a better idea." he said as I faced him again.
"I have proposed a peace treaty to that old man; Regis between our kingdoms. In a few months, our peace treaty will be the focus which brings me to the real reason of what you will be doing. You will gain the prince's trust and betray him where he least expects it. I will sent you ahead and you have 6-8 months to gain his trust before my plan is activated."
"I do well on the battlefield, sir. May I ask why I must gain his trust?" I asked
"It's true you do well on the battlefield, number #1. I'm not getting rid of you at all. You are perfect for war but what you lack is quite obvious. You lack to gain the trust of others and betray them. Think of this as the final step to became my ultimate weapon." he said
"I will need you on the battlefield but I need the crystal that is inside their castle, so this plan is quite a delicate plan. After you betray Prince Noctis, you will kill him and destroy the kingdom. So, you dear, are saved for last. I want to save my best for last, after all."
"I understand. When do I leave?"
"You will leave tomorrow morning, number #1." King Iedolas said as I bowed to him and started to walk but he stopped me again. He hugged me from behind and I turned my head to see his expression changed a little to worry or was it...pain?
"Number #1, no,...ÁSTRÍÐR, you will always belong to me. Never forget that."
"I will not, my king." I said as he let me go, my feet led me away from the throne room to own room. As I entered my room, my hands placed my weapon on the weapon stand and changed to my night wear. My room was a guest room that was just...plain. No color but white and black. The room only had my bed, closet, desk, balcony and bathroom. I placed my uniform in the closet and went to lay down on the bed. My eyes were staring at the ceiling; thinking of my mission and the sudden change in the king.
