When it began, you can only imagine how many people thought it was edited. Videos sent from California, from Korea, from Italy, from everywhere. It didn't look real. Like, some people even thought it was a promotion for a game.

It was everything but.

A new era for humans. A new lifestyle. A new.

Except it wasn't really new. The same shitty people, with shitty lives and shitty decision-making. They just don't have rules restricting them now. No rules means freedom. And freedom to some people means destruction.

Freedom to Sadie just meant that the world was being illuminated with a new light. A new viewing point. Just so happens that the new view pointing was filled with the dead rising with a hunger for things that they were before.

And the things that were breathing, had a heart that was beating. The things that thought and spoke and had dreams; those things had the same fate as the dead. The only difference is that they would remember the blood they shed, the blood they let fall. They would remember.

Until death.

Sadie Fontaine sure as hell remembers the first time her soft hands were stained with crimson. The memory played like a stop motion film. Each image would replace the last, forming its own agonizing pain to top the last. Like a game.

And Sadie was still viewing the tutorial. Her viewing point was well guarded and where she wished to stay. But, we all know that training wheels are destined to be removed.

No one could be safely guarded for long. Not even her.

Because as long as the dead walks,

the living should be running.

sadie my beloved is here! i honestly think sadie is my only published character who believes she can be loved, but the things she does with love isn't the best... anyway! im super excited to get this book going. i recently rewatching twd from season 1 to 10, and sadie and her friends just formed while i was watching. so, i really hope you love them :)

also tiny rant! i've always been one for pushing poc representation in books (which is why majority, if not all, my books have a poc main character) and finding out that twd fanfics lack in poc representation, especially southeast asian and asian in general representation, i was really disappointed. its not hard to write a poc character. i do plan on making more twdu fics, all ranging with different races and ethnicities, so i hope i can give some people the representation they are looking for in fics. please, if you're reading this: start including poc characters in your fics, regardless of the fandom. it's tiring only seeing white people being used and not being able to find someone who looks like yourself to read about.
